Hi there,

I'm getting an ''Access to C:\Program Files (x86)\STMicroelectronics\st_toolset\stvd\default.wed was denied'' error when I try loading an STM8 project through the ST Visual Develop IDE.

Has anyone seen this error before?

Thanks for your help!

Okay I seemed to have resolved the problem myself. It looks like the STVD IDE does not like long paths and/or spaces in its install directory. I re-installed STVD in a shorter path directory and the error is no longer there :)

    Hi Jeff

You may actually find that helpful... In my experience the project .WED files get corrupted after a while, but if STVD is unable to write the default one then at least it remains uncorrupted. Note that if this happens, you have to exit STVD and delete your project .WED and .WDB files; if you don't delete both, or just close the workspace, delete them  and then re-open, STVD corrupts them immediately.

    Cheers
