Can I choose any two COM ports for LCD or must they be COM0 and COM1?

I'm designing a product with an STM8L052C6 and a 1/2 duty lcd (2 com x 18 seg).  To make the layout and pin assignment easier, i'd like to use COM1 and COM3.  I have found the PM registor to turn off unused segment pins, but haven't found a way to use different com configurations.  Must I only use 1/2 bias COM0/1?
