I have just purchased the STM8L-DISCOVERY, I have problems getting the device communication functioning on my primary PC. I have installed all the same apps... on a secondary PC, on this PC all is OK.

On my primary PC I get:

** Connection error (usb://usb): swim error [30004]: comm timeout

from the ST Visual Develop.

I have tried several solutions, without luck, and I suspect a OS issue.

The primary PC, is W7-64 bit, the secondary PC is W7-32bit.

Thanks

Casper Dietrich

    I am using STM8L Discovery on Win7 64bit.

I have same error at first. But I found solution to solve.

The error is occurred when I connect one to the USB HUB. But I connect it directly to the PC. Error is not shown.

    Please try.

    Just an idea....

Try running STVD in a compatibility mode.

From START right click on stvd and click PROPERTIES.

On COMPATIBILITY tab try one of the various options.

    Hi Casper,

A new ST toolset pack version will be available by 1 or 2 weeks on

    http://www.st.com/

    .

It will support W7 64bit and also fix the issues encountered when trying to get the STM8L-Discovery device communicting with PCs.

    Best Regards
