What a pity.

If it would support Linux, I could actually use it, now that I have mine - but it seems like Arduino is the way to go.

Another piece of good hardware wasted due to crappy software support...

    STVD works in Wine, for programming there is only one option - http://www.versaloon.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17&start=0

    The url (thread) andrey points to is for using (converting) the STM8S-Discovery to an ARM SWD debugger. Not to support STM8 SWIM.

    I don't think that will work with the sw/port from that thread.

    The Standard Versaloon dongle should support STM8 SWIM (Simon says)
