Power consumption of STM8s Discovery

Hello together,

yesterday I separated the ST-LINK module from the STM8S105C6T6 module of my STM8s discovery. Afterwards I measured the power consumption and unfortunately it was much higher than expected. At a voltage level of 5V it consume 66mA and in active halt mode still 40mA. Has anybody of you made some different experience with other consumption values?

Thanks in advance

more than a microcontroller it seems you've found a thermonuclear central :)

How did you perform these measurements?

Have you disconnected all unecessary components, you need only VDD, GND, VCAP, and NRESET to be connected to the device.

    Thanks for your quick answer!

I've disconnected everything besides the power supply. I put a multimeter between my power source and the VDD. Have you measured the current of your STM8s discovery?

    Cheers
