STM8S103F3P6 Programming

It comes with a micro USB port. However, the posts I'm seeing show you need a separate programmer (ST-Link) to program it (SWIM). I'd appreciate some insight on how you get up and running programming one of these on Windows. 1. I've got COSMOS and STVP setup on my system. Anything else needed? 2. Do I need to have an ST-Link or other programmer or can it be done over USB with a USB-to-TTL device? 3. If it must have a separate programmer, what is the best choice? Thank you for your help! #stm8s103f3p6-programming
I am a software engineer, but I have been working with various development boards as a hobbyist. My latest purchase was a minimum STM8 board off ebay (
) so I could start learning that platform.
