Hi,

My setup :

Windows Vista

STVD V4.3.0

Cosmic C compiler

STM8S Discovery board

I use the example project 'stm8s-discovery_led'. I have opened the '\Project\Discover\STVD\Cosmic\Discover.stw' workspace and it builds fine - no errors.

Whenever I try to open a source file (e.g. main.c), STVD shows the hourglass and freezes. No editor window opens, no source file is shown. The source file path that STVD shows is OK.

What am I doing wrong ?

Hi , i think logging in as an administrator may solve your problem because i was having the similar kind of problem with my STVD and it was solved by logging in as administrator. (use the default administrator user)

    Hi,

I've done the install on a new PC(also Vista, no other available) and I have exactly the same problems : when trying to edit a file, STVD hangs...

It also does that when breaking in the debugger : I open the basic Discover project, send it to the debugger (without trying to edit anything). I can start the program (F5). When I then hit shift-F5 (stop and break), STVD tries to open the source file where it stopped and hangs...

I've tried every Windows trick I know (run as admin, run in XP compatibility mode, use short path names without spaces, ...) without any change. This is a very consistent bug and can not be that hard to find.

TOO BAD THERE IS NO RESPONSE FROM ST ON THIS - ABANDONING THIS MICRO - SORRY ST.

    JGW.
