I have updated some firmware and need to flash the MC on a custom board with a STM8AL3188 and SWIM connector. This is my first project using IAR. I have browsed some tutorials and made sure the Debugger Driver was set to ST-Link. However I do not know what else is needed to establish a connection so I can download the new firmware. So I figured I'd ask the experts.

The firmware on the ST-Link was updated to 'V2.J29.S7 STM32+STM8 Debugger: via the STM32 ST-LINK utility. And I am using IAR Workbench STM8 IDE V3.10.4

For images of connector, board, and workspace. (

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

At s minimum have the wires connected. And preferably have your board powered separately.
