Why doesn't the COSMIC compiler start?

I downloaded and installed the COSMIC stm8 free compiler (http://cosmicsoftware.com/download_stm8_free.php).

I requested and received a license.

I copied the license file to the appropriate folder.

However, the compiler does not start.

It does not start from ST Visual Develop.

I tried to run it on the command line, from the folder in which it is located (D:\Program Files\COSMIC\FSE_Compilers\CXSTM8).

I see error: "D:\Program Files\COSMIC\FSE_Compilers\CXSTM8\cxstm8.exe not a valid Win32 application"

I use Windows XP SP3.

I tried 3 times reinstall compiler. And i got same error.

Cosmic has it's own user forum, and promises installation support. Have you tried it there ?

Not much seasoned STM8/Cosmic users present here.

No, I have not tried it yet.

The file Readme.txt says "If you have any question, please post them on: https://my.st.com/public/STe2ecommunities/mcu/default.aspx or send e-mail to support.stm8.free@cosmic.fr".

    And so I wrote here.

Do not tell me a link to the COSMIC forum?

I am looking at my Project settings and it looks like it automatically set the path to C:\Program Files(x86)\COSMIC\FSE_Compilers\CXSTM8 - try to install everything with default paths.

You can also try to ensure that in your project settings the path is correct.

    Thanks for the help.

I wrote to the support team and they told me that their compiler no longer supports running on Windows XP.

Nothing can be done about it.
