Hi,I would like the DC/DC converter of STKNX to make 5V.Also, I want the Linear regulator to make 3.3VBecause of global efficiency, I wanted to power the linear regulator with the 5V output of DC/DC converter.I'm surprised that the datasheet specifies VDD_REGIN minimum voltage 6.8V, if VCC_SEL is shorted to ground (in order to make 3.3V linear regulator output).Same for VDD_REGIN minimum voltage specified 8.5V, if VCC_SEL is shorted to VCC_Core (in order to make 5V linear regulator output).This makes 3.5V voltage dropout, which seems pretty much to me. Question: Is there a typography error in Datasheet? Or is the dropout of internal regulator as much as 3.5V ? Many thanks,   Alexandre  

Hello there :)I'm trying to use a KSZ8863 Ethernet PHY with the STM32F767. I'm using the Nucleo F767ZI Board where i unsoldered the jumpers to the onbord PHY. The KSZ8863 is then connected via the Morpho connectors.I just used the Code generated by the CubeIDE with rtos and lwip.By now I can configure the PHY via MIIM (MDIO, MDC) with no issue.but I have no communikation with the Ethernet.Looking at the RMII interface via logic-analyzer i can see the 50MHz clock. And the data send from the Phy to the STM32 with corresponding frequency.But when i look at the Date send from the STM32 to the Phy it looks like the µC sends with a to low frequency. (if im right with 2.5MHz) . So it looks like the STM32 uses a wrong clock.So far the only thing I could find is thatSYSCFG->PMC |= (SYSCFG_PMC_MII_RMII_SEL);selects the used interface (and with that the clock?).(See STM32F767 datasheet page 1776 / 42.4.4) In the Figure 549 Clock Scheme, there is the Sync. divider. bit i cant find anything more

Hi community,I have purchased the STEVAL-IDP004V2 master evaluation board and STEVAL-IDP003V1 ( with STEVAL-IDP003V1T temperature sensor ).I connected the STEVAL-IDP004V2 and the STEVAL-IDP003V1 and the USB cable (Not RS485) on my PC.I downloaded the STEVAL-IDP004V1_USB.hex file with STLInkV2 on STEVAL-IDP004V2 master board . I haven't uploaded anything to STEVAL-IDP003V1 sensor board.Now I had removed the STLink-V2 and powered on the board (24V) ...I see the 4 green leds (sensor1, sensor2, sensor3, sensor4) on STEVAL-IDP004V2 light up for 2-3 sec and the 4 leds on transceivers on STEVAL-IDP004V light up fixed .   Then the 2 LEDs (red and green) of STEVAL-IDP003V1 (sensor) light up fixed also the 4 leds on transceivers on STEVAL-IDP004V . When I try to connect the STEVAL-IDP004V with my PC with teraterm (according to the AN5041 pag24 point 4.2) or with the STEVALIDP0005x-GUI, I  have these errors,  also if I change the baud rate.:   Can you

I have a circuit card that uses the M48T18-150PC1 Timekeeper SRAM, and the battery died. I replaced the part but the settings did not save once power was cycled. A second part was used with the same result. Looking at the date stamp, (412) tells me I'm possibly at the limit of the battery's life. I tried measuring the voltage (Vcc to Vss), but have no reading at all. The replacement units integrity are questionable, so I'm wondering if I'm measuring something wrong. Is there a latch I'm not aware of that prevents me from measuring this voltage? Any help would be appreciated. In the meantime, I have placed an order for new parts hoping this will solve my problem. Regards,Bob

 My team is trying to design a radio board with the STM32WL and we plan to use the BALF-WL-00D3 in the RF Front End.Based on our requirements, we have decided to go with a 6-layer board and are trying to decide on a stackup (dimensions) for the same.But, the datasheet is unintelligible and super confusing in terms of the recommended stackup (it has no dimensional units, clarity is poor and dimensions are inconsistent)Could someone please provide accurate and clear instructions / dimensions for the same?

Can you use CubeMX to generate init code for the LP SoC?I am integrating an LP SoC into a custom PCB and not sure what all I need to init?

Back in May of 2022, I purchased a number of BlueNRG-LP-DK development boards (STEVAL-IDB011V2-C) for Bluetooth Low Energy development.  Things went fine (in a manner of speaking of course) .Recently I tried to use these boards with its RTC (Real Time Clock) configured with the LSE (Low Speed external) / 32.768 KHz Oscillator and I simply could not get the RTC configured with the LSE Oscillator to work.   What I mean whenever I tried to configure the LSE/ 32.768 KHz Oscillator as the source for the RTC, it was as though the RTC had nothing hooked up to it.Before anyone asks, I did use the Periph_Examples -> HAL -> RTC sample code provided by ST extensively and stepped through a lot of HAL code. Here are my two (simple) questions: 1) Was there anything peculiar about this particular batch/lot/vintage of BlueNRG-LP's regarding the RTC that anyone knows about?  Given I previously had hardware problems with the PDM microphone on that board vintage, I was

Hi, I am evaluating to use the ST8500 module as alternative part of the ST7538Q.In our application we have a custom protocol over power line with FSK modulation.Looking all the documentation related to ST8500 I found that it is possible to configure the carrier frequency, the bandwidth and the modulation as the ST7538Q. The point that for me is not clear is about the RTE and PE images to be downloaded on the IC. All the documentation is related to the G3 protocol and also the images are related to this protocol. In case I would like to use only the PHY layer without the other layers of the stack, is it possible to create a light version of these images ? Or the images have to be provided by ST?Moreover should I use the G3-lib as host interface driver? 

Hello all,I am working on creating a secure IoT device. The device is configured as MQTT client which will be sending sensors data to the sever over MQTT. I have implemented encryption using mbed-TLS where I confirm server's authenticity with server CA certificate. Now I wish to implement 2 way authentication where I need to send client certificate to the server for verifying client authenticity by server.I see it is possible with the help of mbed-TLS but we need to provide private key of the client to mbedTLS which is not possible since we cannot extract private key out of STSAFE. I have been searching on this from almost a month and I have not been able to find a direct example on implementing this.Also, the STSAFE examples are not clear about implementing this with mbedTLS.I am in search of something that links stsfae with mbedTLS for client authentication.Can anyone please guide me how to implement this?

Posted on August 14, 2015 at 19:20So if I want to hop to various frequencies I need to calibrate the VCO each time. That's fine and expected. The SPIRIT1 has a fantastic auto calibration time of only around 50us - one of the features that make it attractive relative to other contenders. EXCEPT you can't use auto calibrate because it fails every so often according to the errata sheet!!. So it may as well not be there. Instead you have to go through an onerous manual calibration process for each possible frequency you wish to use (store the values and then load them in from the MCU each time later on) and worse still you need to repeat this entire process if the temperature changes significantly (think outdoor devices) or at reasonably regular intervals in any case. Someone please tell me I am wrong... or better still when will the next revision of the SPIRIT1 become available?

Hello! The task is to implement a device with two-port Ethernet. To do this, I developed a circuit, connected the STM32F207 controller to the KSZ8863RLLI Ethernet transceiver via RMII. The controller and the transceiver are connected according to the MAC-MAC scheme. The STM used a standard library for working with Ethernet LwIP. Unfortunately, after long tests, it was not possible to get a ping from such a connection scheme. The transceiver was configured using SPI and MIIM. And therefore, I want to ask a few questions:1. What wiring diagram should be applied between the STM32F207 controller and KSZ8863RLLI? MAC-MAC or PHY-MAC? Does STM32F207 support such a connection? The datasheet does not say anything about such a connection.2. If the MAC-MAC connection supports, then what settings need to be changed for this principle to work?

Hi folksI am currently trying to communicate with the TLV493D-A1B6 3D hall sensor. As board, I'm using the NUCLEO-F103RB. To make sure I didn't mess up any connections or anything else, I verified my setup with an ADS1015 adc which I can read out over I2C. Unfortunately, I am not able to find a valid address whilst sweeping through all possible addresses. I always get "HAL_ERROR" after using the following routine. Hi everyone,I'm currently using an STUSB1700 as a 5V 3A power source for one of the USB ports in my project. I'm able to draw up to 2.7A with Apple devices (iPhones and iPads) on that port. Using the STUSB GUI, I can connect to the STUSB1700 via I2C and read the messages. I've looked through the datasheet for the register in the NVM but can't seem to find any that would resolve this issue. If anyone has faced the same problem and found a solution, I would greatly appreciate hearing about it. I've attached a screenshot showing what the STUSB GUI dashboard looks like when I plug in the Samsung tablet (it is written that the device is a STUSB1600A but it is a STUSB1700). For the design I've followed the recommended schematic from the datasheet, for it to advertise 5V 3A capabilities when under negotiation (RP_HIGH/RP_DEF pulled up to 5V).Thanks in advance!Ivan.

Hello,I am currently reviewing the S2-LP transceiver for high-bitrate/long-range communication in the 915MHz band. To achieve that, I want to interface an S2-LP with a Skyworks SE2435L front-end, as shown in the FK915V1 Evaluation board. I would like to know if it is possible to use a Balun from ST like the BALF-SPI2-03D3 to match the impedance of the transceiver with the front end. I am asking this question because in the FK915V1 schematic, the RX and TX paths are distinct, whereas using the Balun implies connecting the PAIN and TR pins of the front end together.Can this approach yield good result or am I wrong?Also, what is the recommended balun for the S2-LP, BALF-SPI2-03D3 or BALF-SPI2-01D3 ?Thank you,Robin

Hello, I'm evaluating the use of the evaluation kit and the evaluation software for the S2-LP to generate the OOK signal, In the software I can't modify the Preamble to a custom pattern, another thing is to be able to place the ID address (I can not in the software) if i enable the option to add to the frame and the last thing is if it is possible to set up two different data rate for the preamble and the rest of the frame.Also, what is the "Length Field" in the software meant ? it is not explained, is it the length of the Address field ? I saw in the datasheet of the S2-LP the table 52 of the preamble field selection but can someone elaborate how is that selecting the PREAMBLE_SEL for OOK the preamble would looks like? Best regards,

Is it possible to increase this limit as long as it's less than the 255 character value length limit?I am working with the SensorTile eval board with an STM32L4xx MCU, and I working with a modified version of the BlueMicrosystem2 example.I've done the following: Set ATT_MTU to 46 bytes (or any number that's less than 255).I pair with the SensorTile using the ST BlueMS iPhone app.Immediately after receiving a EVT_LE_CONN_COMPLETE event that tells me that connection was successful, I call aci_gatt_exchange_configuration() to exchange ATT_MTU configurations.I then get back a EVT_BLUE_ATT_EXCHANGE_MTU_RESP event telling me that exchanging configurations was successful. The event also comes with a data packet that tells me what the new server_rx_mtu is. However, this is still set to 23 bytes.Am I missing anything? Hello everyone,   I am experiencing a voltage issue between the IO-Link master and IO-Link devices in my new project based on IO-Link communication. The setup involves a STEVAL-IDP004V2 IO-Link master and a STEVAL-IDP003V1 IO-Link slave/device. I have supplied 32V power to the IO-Link master, and the IO-Link slaves are connected via M12 connectors to the IO-Link master ports.   However, I have observed that the voltage supplied from the IO-Link master ports to the IO-Link slaves is insufficient for their operation (it does not come from 32V supply from the IO-Link master ports). Using a multimeter, I measured the voltage at the IO-Link master port pins (L+ and L—), and it ranges between 2V and 4V, depending on the input supply.   Could you please advise on the following:   How can I resolve this voltage issue to supply sufficient power from the IO-Link master to the IO-Link slaves? Is a firmware update for the IO-Link master required in this scenario? What other me

I bought a P-NUCLEO-IOM01M1 last week and downloaded the software from TEConcept, IO-Link Control Tool.Then I tried to connect P-NUCLEO-IOM01M1 but it was failed with an error message, MASTER_NOT_CONNECTED.I haven't changed anything on P-NUCLEO-IOM01M1.Any ideas to resolve my problem ?

Hi, I'm fighting with a low data throughput of the BlueNRG-MS. The BlueNRG based device acts as a peripherial and sends notifications periodicaly to PC or Android app. The problem is I'm not able to achieve a higher data rate than approx. 1 kB per second. BLE frame data size is 20 bytes.How should I increase the data speed? I think the way is sending multiple packets within one connection interval but I don't know how to do this.
