Hi,I am using the ism330dhcx and lis2mdl and run the MotionFX  algo.the ism330dhcx data rate is 104Hz and the lis2mdl is set to 100Hz (sensor hub ODR set to 104Hz)should i run MotionFX  algo at 100Hz or 104Hz ?on ST examples, when the ODR is set to 104, the ALGO_FREQ is set to 100 !is this difference can generate wrong values on fusion algo ?i notice that if i run the magneto calibration at 104Hz, the calibration is never reachif i use 100Hz for magneto calibration and 104Hz (or 100) for MotionFX  algo it is workThank you,Sincerely.

HiI am not an IMU expert. My current task is to upgrade an old board which used LSM6DSL(gyro abd accelerometer ) and lsm303agr(Magnetometer) to caliculate orientation of a human head.As far as I can see LSM6DSV would be providing orientation data without gyro. So I dont need a magnetometer?When it comes to orientation data, what is the benefit of having a magnetometer? How does it come LSM6DSV is doing the job without magnetometer?

Hi,    i do not seem to be able to use the application gui for the vl53L4CD Nucleo board.    when i try and open the application i get this message. is anyone familiar with this issue?

Would it be possible to connect and send sensor data to a Pi Pico W from the STEVAL-MKBOXPRO? I’m looking for a way to connect them together via Bluetooth but a wired connection would be alright too. I have connected a Pico to the sensortile box via Bluetooth already but I do not know how I can gather sensor data from this. Also is there any official or unofficial documentation on any similar endeavors? Hello, I am currently trying to connect a Pololu VL53L8CX breakout board https://www.pololu.com/product/3419 with flying wires to an STM32 Nucleo-144 F767ZI via the Arduino I2C example.  https://github.com/stm32duino/VL53L8CX/blob/main/examples/VL53L8CX_HelloWorld_I2C/VL53L8CX_HelloWorld_I2C.ino  I already read most issues regarding the connection and loaded the I2C scanner suggested here https://github.com/stm32duino/VL53L8CX/issues/5 into a separate file. The scanner returns no I2C devices found. I then wrote a small Input Output program to test the serial connection to the Nucleo without the Pololu board, and the communication worked. The level shifter also seems to be ok, It is an NXS0108, let´s hope NSX fixed their issues with that iteration. For the I2C initiation, I only used wire instead of wire1 without results. I am completely new to the CubeIDE, and the API integration is also something I have never done. It would help me a lot if you could

Could you tell me the differences between the IIS2DLPC and LIS2DW12?According to the reference URL, are there any differences between these two devices other than product longevity and guaranteed parameter values? I am particularly interested in whether there are any differences at the wafer level.From a business continuity perspective, we would like to evaluate both the IIS2DLPC and LIS2DW12. However, it would be a waste to evaluate the same hardware twice.  Hello everyone,I am very new to the STM ecosystem and don’t know much about it. I am using an Ubuntu PC and trying to work with the X-NUCLEO-53L8A1 expansion board and NUCLEO-F401RE.There is a software package available for VL53L8CX to detect the presence of someone: "https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stsw-img042.html". I downloaded it along with the Linaro GCC toolchain from Linaro Releases. After running the Makefile and trying to start the application, I encountered the following error: "./spdkit: 1: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string".  At first, I thought this was a command-line issue, but I suspect something else is wrong. Since the X-NUCLEO-53L8A1 communicates via I2C, I checked for available devices with: "sudo i2cdetect -y1".However, no I2C devices were detected. I also noticed that my NUCLEO board is recognized in ST-Link mode, which might be preventing proper I2C communication(i am not sure !)I’m a bit lost and not sure where to start troubleshooting.

I want to connect a vl53l8 satel board to the x nucleo 53L8A1, and I want to use the MZ-AI EVK software to record measurements of the external sensor, is this possible?

Hello,  Could someone please recommend a TOF sensor(or other) for reliable plastic sheet detection.Application: Measure the width of a sheet or film of plastic in production environment.  We would use  two sensors to detect the edges of the film.  We would move the sensors in/out on a carriage mechanism until the edge is detected. Continuous measurement,  plastic film would be passing by the sensor(s).              Sensors to be mounted between 5 and 20mm from target, plastic film.               Sensors must be able to detect all types of plastic, from clear or transparent (eg. Cling film) to black (bin liners)  IR light source?              Sensors must detect presence or absence of plastic film

Hello, @Andrea VITALI,After using the WESU board (https://community.st.com/t5/mems-sensors/lsm6ds3-lis3mdl-calibration/td-p/762534)we decided to move forward with the sensor tile box PRO. We want to record human activity recognition and pedometer information in the SD card, with a timestamp. We managed to record HAR and pedometer information separetly, on BLE or in a SD card file, but :* If we add the RTC value (for timestamp) to the HAR example, we got the message FLOW_COMPATIBILITY_ERROR* If we enable pedometer, adding gyroscope and accelerometer (60Hz, same as HAR example) in input, add HAR in function, there is no data in the SD card (only header in the csv file), and no updates in Bluetooth (event when SD_Log is updated in log status)Is it possible to get timestamped HAR + pedometer data in a SD card file ?Bonus : if We can also log raw data (ACC, GYR, MAG + BARO) at 240, 100 and 1Hz, that's will great. For now, we can't use this eval board for our need.PS :&nb

Hello!We are developing with the sensor IIS3DWB. I am able to interface it by spi like mentioned in st's github example, and I'm able to use st's platform independend c-drivers. It works fine, I get Acceleration, Temperature, device-ID...In that example the SPI is used in blocking mode and the NSS pin is set by software. Now I want to drive the SPI (with st's SPI-HAL) in non-blocking mode, and I want to drive the NSS-Pin by hardware. Refering the sensor's data sheet, it seems that I need to configure the SPI with CPOL high (CPOL-bit =1), and CPHA to second clock phase (CPHA-bit = 1). But the MCU's reference manual (RM0394, page 1326) says, that the NSS-Hardware-Output-Mode requires clock-pahse-configuration CPHA-Bit==0 (=first clock edge). Is there any way to bring it to work? (If that helps: The sensor will be the only spi device connected to the mcu)Does the sensor accept any other spi setup which is compatible to the MCU when the MCU generates the NSS by hardware? Hello, we are using the ASM330LHH in our product and are doing some bandwidth testing and trying to model the gyro channel behavior. Our settings are ODR = 6667Hz, LPF1 bandwidth = 470, LPF2 =3333Hz. Looking at the data sheet "Gyroscope filtering chain" (Figure 11 of DocID031239 Rev 4) can you describe the pre-ADC analog anti-aliasing low pass filter corner frequency and order , and the ADC output sample rate? For some of our test conditions we suspect we are seeing unexpected aliasing of energy into the gyro outputs, and so wish to understand better that filter and ADC output rate.Also, do you have any application notes regarding use of the gyro High-pass filter (Table 55, HPM_G)?Thank-you, tjbh

Hi，I have two questions to ask.1、How do I adjust "VL53LX_MAX_RANGE_RESULTS"and "VL53LX_MAX_USER_ZONES" if I want to get a best single target of data?Would it be better to change them all to 1? It's not in the manual.2、VL53L1CB has a single-target get function "SetSimpleData" that I can't find in the L4CX API. Are there any other functions that can help determine this?Thanks.

We are trying to assemble a laboratory plant from https://github.com/gergelytakacs/AutomationShield/wiki/FloatShieldThe ball position sensor (VL53L0X) is positioned at the top of the transparent policarbonate tube. We checked the reported ball positions by moving the ball in increments of 5 mm and noting the measured value. The results look almost linear without any obvious issues.Since the example controller was still not working as it should, we checked the measured ball position with an external reference video system during the actual operation. The graph below shows the ball position from the bottom of the tube.There appears to be large discrepancies in the middle of the tube.There are internal reflections of the ball on the sides of the tube - could this cause issues in reported ball position? Is it possible to measure only the first reflection with these sensors? This would practically invalidate all other reflections since those paths are longer.

Hi,I'm trying to use LIS2MDL magnetometer sensor with 4 wire bus but I'm encountering a problem with the library.Here is my init function:lis2mdl.c library screenshot:On line 122,  my instance is always initialized (is_initialized=1) by the init function (line 113) so it always bypass the line 124 to init the SPI 4 wires.I resolved the problem by replacing the == by != to force the program to init the 4 wires SPI. Is there a mistake in the library or do I do something wrong ? 

Hi,I am using MotionFX Library on stm32wl55 (CM4 without FPU). run at 48MHz (max frequency)it is impossible to run MotionFX_CM4F_wc32_ot.aso i use :MotionFX_CM3_wc32_ot.a and it is work. by debugging, the MotionFX_manager_run function take different execution time in different cycles?. in general, it tack 1 or 2 ms for 3 or 4 cycles, than 10 to 15 ms for the 5th cycle ! (trying Oz and Ofast optimisation)it is normal ?in attachment a screenshot for fusion execution real time record.  the lowest recommended frequency on the UM2220 is 100Hz.in my case it is just impossible to do faster !so is the library can work correctly if i set a lower frequency ?the third argument in MotionFX_manager_run(pdata_in, pdata_out, MOTION_FX_ENGINE_DELTATIME) can be a variable (set the real delta time between two execution)? because in ST examples it is always set to a fix value.if you have other recommendation to reduce the time of execution, pleas tel me :) Tha

Hello,We are investigating the VL53L7CX presence detection ToF sensor. In the datasheet its mentioned it needs to be mounted in a clean environment "The customer is advised to use a clean assembly process until aprotective cover glass is mounted." and the application note TN1532 "Recommendations for assembling dToF sensors without liners in an environmentally clean place" - states that the sensors should be mounted in a clean environment grade 1000.  Our manufacturer dose not have a 1000 grade clean room but he has 10000 grade. What would be the consequences of mounting the sensor in an 10000 grade environment ? Thank you very much!  

I need to develop a low-power embedded device with pedometer functionality. I'm looking at the LIS3DH because of it's low power, but there's no built-in pedometer application. I've also looked at the LSM6DSL, as it has built-in pedometer support, but the power consumption is ~8x higher. Is there a low-power IMU with built-in support for step counting? Or are these my best options? I'd like to minimize power consumption by the IMU as well as power consumption by the MCU controlling the IMU.Thanks!Brian

Hi all, I'm using pololu VL53L7CX sensor carrier board interfaced with Nucleo-L552zeq EVK for ranging application. For first level, iam using the Simple ranging application that comes with software package. Sensor api calls till getting the data seems working fine. But when viewing the result, the status is always 0. For first frame its 6, but i understood it will be 6 for the first frame. The expected status should be 5 (or 9), but for me its always 0. For now i have set the resolution as VL53L7CX_RESOLUTION_4X4 with ranging mode as VL53L7CX_RANGING_MODE_CONTINUOUS. Additionally, am not using INT pin or LPn pin. I have an LSM6DSV16X configured to generate an interrupt on INT1 whenever the FIFO contains more elements than a specified threshold, which I set using the driver function lsm6dsv16x_fifo_watermark_set().However, I noticed that sometimes the microcontroller receives a second interrupt immediately after the first one. Checking the INT1 signal with an oscilloscope, I observed this irregular behavior:An interrupt lasting about 350 microseconds, immediately followed by another interrupt of about 3 microseconds.Why does this happen?
