I am developing firmware for the ISPU on the LSM6DSO16IS and have a question regarding communication between the host MCU and the ISPU core.My objective is to persist magnetometer calibration data. My intended workflow is:The ISPU runs the MotionMC_update function and calculates the HI_bias values.The host MCU reads these HI_bias values from the ISPU's output registers and saves them to non-volatile memory.On the next device startup, the host MCU writes the saved HI_bias values into the ISPU_DUMMY_CFG registers, intending for the ISPU to use them as initial calibration data.I have successfully implemented step 3. I can write to the ISPU_DUMMY_CFG_1 register from my external STM32 host using the lsm6dso16is_ispu_write_dummy_cfg() function, and I can verify the write was successful by reading it back from the host with lsm6dso16is_ispu_read_dummy_cfg().The problem occurs when the ISPU firmware itself tries to read

Greeting, this is my first ever post on the forum so i hope the topic can be interesting to others.I was working with the ISM330 gyro, reading the datasheet and i noticed that the gyro rate sensitivity seems to be a bit off. Here is what they mention in the datasheet, when i look at the angular rate sensitivy (let assume we have put a full scale range of 2000 dps) the typical value here is 70 mdps/LSB with the tolerance of +-2%. This value doesnt seem to map all the 16 bit signed integer because if you do the math with 70 mdps/LSB the full scale range is actually 2293 dps not 2000 dps, that's like 14% deviation. I don't really know if its intended like this but it's obviously strange, i have worked on many other gyros previously, let say for example mpu6500 or mpu6050 and they don't seem to have this mismatch issue.I have looked up the issue and found a blog post of a japanese that also experience this frustration with the ISM330 (https://rofumi.net/gyroscope-ism330dhcx-angle/ ).

I am working with LIS2DW12 configuring the INT1 for the activity/inactivity interrupt. With the below configurations (as provided in the datasheet), 1. Write 50h in CTRL1 // Turn on the accelerometer // ODR = 200 Hz, FS = ±2 g2. Write 42h in WAKE_UP_DUR // Set duration for inactivity detection // Set duration for wake-up detection3. Write 42h in WAKE_UP_THS // Set activity/inactivity threshold // Enable activity/inactivity detection4. Write 20h in CTRL4_INT1_PAD_CTRL // Activity (wake-up) interrupt driven to INT1 pin5. Write 20h in CTRL7 // Enable interruptsAs expected the interrupt is triggered as an when there is an activity (movement).I want the interrupt to be triggered when the activity is prolonged for 5 secs. I tried playing around with the CTRL1 & WAKE_UP_DUR settings. But results are not as expect. Kindly advice.     

We bought the LSM6DSOX and installed into our equipment since 2021, please help to evaluate whether we need calibrate it. Are there any conditions that the sensor must be calibrated? Please show us the detailed steps for calibrating the sensor. Since the output acceleration information is very important for our application, could you 1) give us some reliability data from customer market (especially in Aviation Industry, we called FMEA: Failure Modes and Effects Analysis); 2) show us some basic principles for generating the acceleration data. From spec and application note of LSM6DSOX, we found it can support motion/stationary recognition, please show us more detail information with the reliability of this recognition and how to implement this function during practice. Are there any limitations or key points for installation of this sensor?

Hi, I am trying to confiure my FSM on LSM6DSV320X chip following the instructions from AN6291LSM6DSV320X: finite state machine document. But in the document on page 52 line 18 it says: Write 41h to register 02h // PAGE_SEL = 4. But there is no description about "page 4". I am using an LIS2DH12 sensor with an esp8266 via I2C. It is the only sensor on I2C. I have a process loop that repeats every 200ms. During this loop, it is recording some other pin inputs and analog inputs, and sending the data to another esp8266 via serial. With the LIS sensor commented out, the maximum loop time is 5ms.With the LIS sensor reading active, and reading it every 200ms, the maximum loop time including the LIS reading varies from 10ms-45ms. So the LIS reading is taking between 5-40ms. My question: There is a strange pattern over the span of 1.6 seconds. Consistently the loop time progresses 45-41-36-31-26-21-16-11ms, only to repeat again 45-41-36-31-26-21-16-11ms.What is causing this pattern? Is the sensor itself doing something in this 1.6 second time period?Thanks!

Hello,I am developing a dynamometer to measure the load placed upon it. To do this, I have designed a spring so that a 1 kg load compresses it by 1 mm. Therefore, I need a sensor capable of detecting the spring's displacement with 1 mm precision.My question is: can I achieve this 1 mm precision by using magnetometer sensor? My idea is to place a magnet on the moving base of the dynamometer and create a calibration curve to correlate the change in the magnetic field with a 1 mm displacement. I need to be able to measure in 5 kg increments, which should correspond to a 1 mm 

Hi,Recently we bought & recived components (MPN LIS2DH12TR) from distributor (Mxxxxx) are over two years old date code, which exceeds the threshold for our internal testing policy.As you know, there's a potential risk of pad oxidation affecting solderability over time.For our validation process, we conduct solderability tests on:Active components that have exceeded 2 years of storage. (Apply to this component) Passive components that have exceeded 5 years of storage.Does STMicroelectronics has any official statement confirming that the shelf life of these LCA leadless pads ? Hi,I’m working with the LSM6DSL sensor and I’d like to know if it’s possible to use both the Low-Pass Filter (LPF) and High-Pass Filter (HPF) at the same time in the accelerometer. If so, could someone explain how to configure it?Thanks!

Hi,I'm using IIS3DWB MEMS sensor to get the motor vibration data which will have a bandwidth of 6kHz and need to store it to a 16GB SD cardI'm confused to calculate the data rate, i mean what is the ODR i need to consider?My calculation is :ODR = 26667 and 3 axis 6 bytes, which becomes 160kb/s and 12.89GB/day precisely, which is a lot of data for a dayShould i consider the ODR to be 2x times the bandwidth (6kHz in this case)?Also let me know about the raw data and how can i filter out the 6khz frequency data that i need

Folks,I have an STM32 rigged up via SPI to read gyro data-only from an LSM6DSL. I read it periodically, every 20ms, and for a while it will report back a few hundred samples in FIFO STATUS REG 1 and 2; I empty the FIFO and after another 20ms it reports me a few hundred samples available and so on. After a short time though it reports no samples in the FIFO and after that it will never have any data to report until I reset and restart.Is there a technique for this? Can I not just read out every so often? We don't have the interrupt line connected to the micro, so it has to be done on a polling basis.I can imagine that maybe if you didn't empty the FIFO quickly enough that there might be a bug in the silicon and it might always read back zero, *but* I have set watermark to 2048 and stop on full, yet it still falls over.This is at 1.66k ODR (both gyro AND FIFO). If I run it st a slower ODR it works OK.At 833Hz, the next rate down, I always get 108 or 111 samples to read (which I am a

HelloI have a problem with the accelerometer lsm303agr and the Fifo Stream mode, I have a time offset between 2 watermark interrupts.Configuration :- accelerometer only- watermark interrupt enable on int1- bdu enable- Stream mode enable- Fifo enable- Don't used any gesture recognition, or filter.- i use the spi mode at 500khzDescription of the problem :I used the accelerometer in Fifo Stream mode, the watermark to fire the interrupt on pin int1 when a certain number of data in the Fifo is reached.The odr is at 1hz, i used the rtc of the stm32 (from a homemade board) to collect the timestamp when INT1 trigger.I have notice a time offset for every sample in addition of the ODR configured.I measured it to be around 25ms/samples on top of my 1seconds period (odr 1hz).I checked the timing at the oscilloscope which confirmed that the problem Don't come from the reading of the rtc but from the lsm303agr.for example :With a watermark to store/collect 2 samples from the Fifo, in theory i should
