Power management

Hi all,   I have a problem with the L6924 in the below schematic. After ca. 1 minute of USB power both red and green LED lit and the output keeps on bouncing from 0 to 4.6V with or without battery attached. The 5V USB are stable and so is the charger output (4.196V) until it happens. I have tried to get rid of the NTC and use aa equal value resistor (470R) as per datasheet even though the voltage at TH pin is stable at .575V Any suggestion?

We try to use STUSB4761 for a 100W USB-PD Source.Test setup includes our PCB with STUSB4761 as power source, an e-marked 5A rated cable and Acroname "USBHub3c Pro Edition" as power sink.According to the log (see Attachement) of the USB PD communication, STUSB4761 advertises in the 5th PDO 20V/5A but if I try to select this PDO the request is rejected.Is there anything wrong with this configuration?

Hi,We are using USBLC6-4SC6 TVS Diode in our design for USB line. The schematic is shown below:We have connected IO1 pin in parallel to D+ line and IO2 pin in parallel to D- line of USB data lines where as IO3 and IO4 lines are left open. Can you please let me know is the connection is correct? Let me know is any modification is required for USBLC6-4SC6 connection. Thanks.

A 24 VDC, 10 A AC/DC converter design has been done using the eDesignSuite on the ST website.     In this design, L6566B controller has been used. After production of the prototype converter, we tested the converter using loads 4-5 amps. There was no problem at first. But later, we encountered some problems.     The output voltage is increasing gradually starting from 8VDC  to 24VDC with no load. But when we connected a load, the output voltage drops to 2-6 VDC level for 20mA load (0 VDC for loads more than 2 amps) and then tries to restart.     We have seen that there should be an accurate voltage reference (5V ± 2%) at the Vref pin (10) of the L6566B in accordance with the datasheet, Table 1 and Table 4.     We have checked the pin 10 of the L6566B and there was no 5V even though there was no load at the output. No matter what we did, we couldn't get it solved.     We have the following questions:We could

I have the following situation:I have a custom PCB with a 4 port HUB ic on it (TUSB8041IRGCR). The UFP of the hub is connected to  my phone and there are 4 DFP.My phone negotiates with the PD controller via CC lines about what voltage it wants when phone is connected. The datalines of the usb port go to the hub. The thing is that the phone does not see the hub. If i completely ignore the USB PD negotiation and connect the UFP to my PC, the PC sees the hub.is there some sort of setting i have to set  in STUSB4700QTR to let my phone know that it sinks power but sources data to the hub? I have no option to program the STUSB4700QTR

Hi,I'm configuring a L9907 Driver IC using a STM32 controller. The controller is sending 0xEAAA to the driver IC, however the driver IC is not responding to the input. The MISO pin is flat at 0.Kindly help me resolve this issue

Hello, is there any way to adjust the rise and fall time of the coil driver on the STWBC86? The observed rise and fall times are currently 3-4ns, but I am looking for ways to extend them to 70ns+ due to excessive emissions with my product.Thank you!

I just bought 10 pcs of LDL1117S33R which i plan to use them to power 3.3V modules form a 4V regulated source.According to the data sheet the typical dropout is 350mV and max is 600mV @1.2A. My module consumes less than 500mA, so i expect to have enough margin with a Vin of 4V to get 3.3V at the ouput. But the module doesnt boot at 4V input.When measured the dropuout is 1V -  1.1V. Did anybody face this problem?The chips are labeled LL33 F329 with ST logo

Basically I need to transfer a lot of power to some electronics which is mounted on a rotating cylinder. At moment I am using a rotating collector, but it has a short life and is very expensive. I watch the video on the page promoting the kit and I saw the water boiler getting power from the stove top while it was moved around the surface and lifted. I downloaded the DB5153, which it shows in detail the kit, but I can find any information on how to build the receiving part. Basically, in your expert opinion, can I created a rotating receiver for transfering power to my electronics? The power requirement it's pretty much what's the kit is proposing. I visite

Hi,the maximum I2C input low voltage is stated as 0,35V for the STUSB4761.Is this a typo?Because in NXP I2C spec this level is stated as 0,3VDD We are using a PCA9516 I2C Multiplexer (0,5V Low) and observe massive connection failures with STUSB4761. RegardsMichael

I'm using the L6981C33DR bug converter to convert 24V (from an SDR-120-24 power supply) down to 3.3V. However, I've had instances where the regulator overheats and "exploaded".The circuit only needs to supply around 100mA at startup, so the current draw isn't excessive. My suspicion is that there might be a voltage spike at startup that occasionally damages the regulator, but it happens infrequently and I haven't been able to capture it on an oscilloscope.Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any insights on how to troubleshoot this?I've attached a picture of the schematic and PCB layout for reference. However, I am facing an issue where the STUSB1700 is unable to negotiate the Battery Management System (BMS) with the SYNC protocol.To provide more context:The Saleae logic analyzer captures the transmitted packets, but the negotiation fails, and I have observed the following anomalies:Missing EOP in some transactions.CRC errors in specific messages.I have attached a screenshot of the packet view from the Saleae logic analyzer for reference.Additionally, I have included a schematic of my circuit for review. We are developing a wireless charger with additional wireless-to-USB gateway functionality. We have a design where we use the STWB2-HP as a wireless power transmitter - works fine most of the time. In parallel, we implemented an ESP32-S3 with BT and WiFi. We use a USB2 compatible USB-C connector.USB power is used for the whole system.CC lines are connected to the STWBC2-HP.Data lines are connected to the ESP32. On Windows and Linux machines, the data connection works as expected. The STWBC Studio interface reports USB-BC and USB-PD power modes at 5V, depending on the connected host devices. With a PD wall adapter, all power modes (PD: 5V, 9V, 20V) are available and charging works. However, when we connect our hardware to a MacOS machine (Macbook Pro M1 2021 or Mac mini), the device is visible for about 1 second and then disappears. Hello,I am working with these two IC's to try and create an SPI programable power distribution module. For the VNF9Q20F I understand that you set Inom and Tnom to get your desired curve. My question is how do you know what Tnom you would need to select for your application? I attempted to create an I2t graph based off the information from the datasheet but all it mentions is that the first step is 1.03 * Inom and the last step is 10*Inom but nothing in between those steps. Ideally I would like to obtain a graph similar to figure 7 from the datasheet and compare it to various wire gauges. Hi beloved friends of software architecture,i try to programm an SPI communication protocol of an STM32F373CCT6. It should communicate to the powerSTEP01 in order to move a motor. The problem is that i dont get any answer of the powerSTEP01. Did i do anything wrong with my SPI communication setup?I try to do so using the following conditions:Maximum clock speed of the SPI is 5 MHz, so i chose 1 MHz with a prescaler of 4 to the bitrate, so i am at 250 kBits/s.I use SPI Mode 0, so i trigger on the first rising edge. (clock polarity (CPOL) is set on low and clock phase (CPHA) is set on the first edge).The Datasize is configured to 8 bits.And i use the MSB (most significant bit) first as described in the powerSTEP01 datasheet.Also in the datasheet of the powerSTEP01 is that you have to pull down your CS pin of the powerSTEP01 and pull it back to high after each byte of transmision for at least 625 ns.The nSTBY/nRESET Pin has to be set high in order to activate the powerSTEP01Thank you for
