To confirm, the max output voltage on CS pin (I assume it is called VSENSEH) is 8V according to Table 8 on p11 (https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/vnd5e006asp-e.pdf).  But I assume this depends on the sense resistor and ISENSEH of 7mA.  What is the max sense resistor can I use to keep the pin below 5V under all conditions incl fault?  Is it below ~5V/7mA?  Or do I need more margin like 4.5V/7mA given 7mA is typical only?  Why does this chip allow 8V for VSENSEH that breaks 5V-IO compatibility.  Thanks.

Hi,STPS3045CPI is now obsolete and STMicroelectronics no longer carries collateral support. I am wondering if anyone can help. I am looking thru old documentation but it is not clear to me whether the mounting plate on the top is connected to the common cathode (K) or not. Attached screenshot for clarity.I.e. hi,I am now familiar with the STPM3x programming, by using EVALSTPM33/34 boards.I have been able to do some basic low voltage testing where I receive interrupts on INT1 line on EVALSTPM33/4 for voltage swell before I try mains voltages.Then I run the same code (same SPI frequency 12Mhz, same MCU driving it) on our proprietary HW at mains voltage, that uses STPM33 in the recommended configuration, the INT1 line is not changing when a swell event occur (here I tested current swell). Here the swell logic is generating interrupts into the IRQ register, but the external pin INT1 is not changing. CRC's etc of registers seem correct, and I am taking care not to write to reserved bits, using read/mod write. I have read the Metrology code in en.stsw-stpm002.zipIn order to rule misconfiguration of the STPM3x on our proprietary board, my question is, how is the multifunction muxing of INT1 achieved?There is no obvious setting I can see in the STPM3x spec. We are developing an OEM board which is capable of driving bipolar stepper motors from 15 to 80Vdc 10A max, in voltage mode and current control. Our customers should be able to change the supply voltage (Vbus), operating mode (voltage or current), without changing the assembly of the pcb. We use powerSTEP01, and we studied AN4144 “Voltage mode control operation and parameter optimization�?, but still have a couple of questions:How can we use voltage compensation (see AN4144, section 1.3) in our application without having to change the resistance values of the divider bridge? Does the current measurement resistors (Rsens) have an influence in voltage mode? Can we leave them for both operating mode?Is there another way to define "Ke"? I use the method described in section 2.1 of AN4144, it works well but for OEM customers of our system it might be difficult to implement. Any suggestion?Is it possible to preset a maximum speed according to VS, I, L, R or Ke? If so, by what

 In my 750W PFC project, I've employed the L4985A PFC controller IC. I utilized the e-design suite offered by ST to design my PFC, and I fabricated the PCB using the components specified in the e-design file. Despite ensuring that all the necessary voltages at respective pins are within their recommended ranges (as per the datasheet), I am encountering PWM pulses at Pin 2 of this IC.Could you please help to resolve my issue.    

Hi, can you tell me what happens to the LDL212 when the input voltage drops below the output voltage+dropout? Does it track the input voltage (minus the dropout voltage)? Or does it drop out? Also, in the datasheet it mentions undervoltage lockout in the features but doesn't explain anywhere how it works. Do you have more info on this feature?

Hi All,I have been stuck for a week with this.7I can read and write to the registers of both L6470 correctly.And I can also send commands properly to L6470 via the SPI from STM32F407 discovery kit.However, when I try to start driving the motor, the motor never runs but I can see LED on BUSY output light up for some time with RUN command.At first the FLAG output is cleared after GETSTATUS command with TH_SD and TH_WRN bits cleared to zero.But after some fiddling with the firmware, I discovered now I can't reset both TH_SD and TH_WRN bits with GETSTATUS command. I can mask out these bits by disabling the thermal related flags in ALARM_EN register so these bits are never set in the status register of L6470. But problem is the red FLAG LED remains lighted up and cannot be cleared with GETSTATUS command now.All these while, the stepper motor attached to L6470 output never runs and the chip never gets hot at all. This has happened with two X-NUCLEO-IHM02A1 boards.Also, the yellow BUSY LED wi

When using the chip GIPS30C60-H, sometimes the three-phase bridge switching signal is given but there is no output, regardless of whether the SD/OD pin is set high or not. This chip is used in a motor controller with a 0-270V DC bus supply and input signals given by a piece of DSP. I would like to know the sufficient conditions for the chip to have an output voltage, as I have given the chip the correct supply voltage of 15V, a suitable input signal, and the SD/OD pin has been forced to 5V high by an external circuit, but my chip doesn't seem to be in working order as there is no output voltage. This problem doesn't happen all the time, it sometimes occurs when I have a DC bus voltage of 270V, and when I reduce the DC bus voltage, say to 100V, the chip outputs the three-phase voltage correctly again.

I can't find the max operating voltages of the logic pins.  Is it same as Vcc?  Thanks.

On p23 Fig 35 of https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/vn7004slh.pdf, Are the big copper areas on the 4-layer PCB around the IC GND or VCC?  The figure seems to be GND, but how can GND help dissipate the heat from the ICs if the thermal vias are connected to VCC?  Just to confirm.  Thanks. 

Hello,I am trying to create the thermal model of Buck boost converter for my 20V application. I found STL210N4F7AG from ST with low Rds_on available on market. I dowloaded the spice model and created a symbol based out of V3lib file. I put it in my model and when I started simulation I couldn't see any output. Even the gate pulses are not visible in plots.Can anyone help me what is wrong with my model? The model was working with LTspice Lib mosfets though.Tried to change the Configuration of LTspice with ABTOL RTOL values provided in user manual but no success.   

Hi All, In this LDO the output current limit can be set by a Rshort resistor from pin 8 to V_in.Is there any formula for the calculation of such a resistor? On the Figure 19 in the datasheet there is a plot showing Short-circuit current vs RSHORT for givien conditions (IN=COUT=1μF, VIN=6V) -- is this plot true for the entire range of the input voltages and temperatures?

I use stpm34. stpm34 reads voltage and current as rms. but stpm34 read active/reactive power like ac.I think stpm34 should read them like dc. is it right? I wanna dc value of active/reactive power.Could you help me? 

Hello, I see there are two open drain output pins on the STBC15: CHGINOK and PG. If I don’t need to read the CHGINOK and PG status, can they either be left floating or connected to ground, without needing to add an external pullup? Please confirm if this is the correct understanding. Thanks

The datasheet says that LM211D/DT has a temperature of -40 °C, +105 °C and output to negative supply voltage 50VLM311D/DT has a temperature of -0 °C, +70 °C and output to negative supply voltage 40VIs there any differences in performance or electrical characteristics between the two?

Hello,I'm using TCPP03 for a DRP solution. For my design it would be good to use the Mosfet drivers for controlling a logic input for further power control instead of using Mosfets. Is it possible to use the gatedrivers with the SRC-pins connected to Ground and feed the GATE-Pins to an input of a logic device? I'm aware that I have to take care for the logic level translation.I did already tests and it worked so far. Just to get safe that there will be nor furhter impacts, I want to know your suggestion for this.RegardsMichael Houzer   

Connected discovery board to COM port. Using Demo bin file, have been able to view data with serial monitor. When I connect using Unicleo GUI 1.25.1.11665, COM port message states successfully opened. Unable to view any other data. Firmware: Expansion Board: Library: data UNKNOWN. Any ideas how to get GUI to display properly?

I require assistance with the design of the battery charger schematics involving the L6924D. Referring to the documentation (https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/l6924d.pdf), the pull-up resistor R3 is 1K, and the NTC tuning resistor R9 is 470 ohms. My inquiries are as follows:Should I incorporate the NTC thermistor as depicted in red on the schematics, or is R9 itself an NTC?In section 8.1 of the document regarding the selection of the appropriate NTC, at 0 degrees Celsius, is the resistance NTC||R9 equal to R3, or is R9 equal to R3? Furthermore, at 50 degrees Celsius, is R3(1K)/NTC||R9 equal to 7 or R3/R9 = 7?
