ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

I have ported rfal platform to work on my esp32 and have successfully detected all kinds of cards. Hello!I am working on integrating ST25R3916B into our product based on PSOC 6 CM4.  I can read the ID and initialization seems to succeed but I cannot detect any tags.Setup:* I am using STEVAL-ST25R3916B reader expansion board with ST25R3916B.* I have VBUS connected 5V, 3.3v to 3v3. SPI pins are properly connected and can read the ID. IRQ as +ve edge.* I have attached spi transaction logs, I have the SPI bus connected to the logic analyzer in case if need any transaction through the logic analyzer.* I have attached rfal_platform.h and have ST25R_COM_SINGLETXRX enabled and spi_transfer handles the SS pin.Please let me know anything to try, not sure where to start.

Hi there,first of all: I'm a software engineer and working with electronics only as a hobbyist. Therefore expect *** errors :)I'm trying to use a ST25R3916B in my ESP32 project. The I2C communication to the ST25R3916B is working.The call to rfalNfcInitialize succeeds but the next call to rfalFieldOnAndStartGT causes the ESP32 to crash with a " Core 1 panic'ed (Interrupt wdt timeout on CPU1).". Hello,I'm using it with a custom board. I'm facing problem with switches the ST25R95 into low power consumption modeWhen I send Calibrate command, it can work and return 0x78.But if I send another command like wake up in IRQ_IN(07 0E 08 01 00 38 00 18 00 00 60 00 00 00 00 00) or tag detection(>0x07 0E 0A 21 00 79 01 18 00 20 60 60 70 80 3F 08),ST25R95 return me just 0xFD,When I set it to wake up when timeout(0x07 0E 01 21 00 38 00 18 00 60 60 00 00 00 00 08) ,it return me {0x00,0x01,0x01},it is correct.And I observed that after I sent (0x07 0E 0A  A1 00 F8 01 18 00 00 60 60 00 00 3F 01 ) to calibrated the DacDataRef,ST25R95 entered idle mode because there was not any reaction when I placed the tag on top of the antenna.I also wanna know that what will I get from  IRQ_OUT when  I send command like wake up from tag detection,dose any reaction with IRQ_OUT as soon as I place the tag on top of the antenna?Kindly help me out. &n

Hi, May I know the available test points on  STEVAL-D25R16B for me to connect S11 of NANOVNA to ? Also, which of the register values (space a and b registers) are essential to set the board to high impedance (VNA mode) before connecting the nanovna to the test points while the board is powered? Thank you! Best Wishes,Cindy

Using the FTM Demo Feature in the ST25 NFC Tap App, we were successfully able to update and store firmware packets using the mailbox of the ST25DV04KC module.Issue Description:I am encountering an issue when attempting to upgrade with a BIN file of 409,984 bytes (410KB). Specifically, the issue occurs when the file size reaches 405,982 bytes; at this point, the update process fails with a timeout. However, when I use a 399,360 bytes (390KB) BIN file, the update process works successfully every time without any issues.Steps Taken:Tested different file sizes: The 390KB files work perfectly, but the 410KB files consistently cause a timeout during the NFC DFU process, specifically at 405,982 bytes.Tried increasing buffer sizes: I increased the buffer size from 6000 to 15000, but the issue persists.Checked NFC connection and signal strength: No issues were detected with the

I am now trying to read the payload of an NFC-A Passive ISO-DEP device with the UID: 5F471DC2783A8E.In the polling_demo.c file, I see the function demoAPDU. I would like to use this function to read the payload, which contains Bluetooth Out of Band (OOB) data and a key. My goal is to use this for BLE NFC pairing. Hi, I'm currently examining the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 as a NFC chip for our project. And I've stumbled across a problem. Our own Hardware runs predominantly on 3.3V. In theory, this would not be a problem as the Chip st25r3916b supports the 3.3V operation, but I've found no resources on how to use it.I've implemented a startup routine, that resets the chip (0xC1), then sets the Chip to 3.3V mode (0x01,0x80) and then tries to read the Chip ID (0x7F), but the Chip ID is not returned.As far as my understanding of the Protocol goes, there is no way to only use the Chip resp. the Eval-Board with only 3.3V. As the chip would have to be powered up with 5V and then set to 3.3V mode to use it that way. Otherwise, the Chip won't be able to hear the MCU, as the SPI signal threshold is below the minimum 3.6V, that are required for the 5V use case.Am I wrong in my understanding or is there some sort of jumper, that I need to set?

I have created my own electronic circuit based on the ST25R3911B and STM32F103. So far, I have downloaded the NFC5 library and started reading its technical documentation. However, I’m not sure what to do next. Hi,I don't have any experience in RF design but I need to design the matching circuit for this RFID antenna (PDF attached) to work with the ST25R100 (PDF also attached).(NOTE: IF for some reason that antenna cannot be used, can you please suggest some other [ideally] rectangular antennas that can be used and that are FLEXI-PCB TYPE because we need to attach it to a curved plastic surface). As long as the RFID card can be read reliably every time from a distance of at least 20mm, then it is acceptable. I saw the reference design but the values are different. We are building an RFID reader. I copied the schematic and RF + antenna from the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1. The design works, but I have an issue with the reading distance.Some RFID tags are detected over 5 cm away, while others need to be placed less than 1 cm from the reader antenna. Where should I look to solve this issue?I tried some commercial readers, and they all read tags from the same distances. I cut the antenna from the NUCLEO-NFC08A1 and replaced the one on our reader, but the result was the same. I also replaced all the RF components on our reader with those on the NUCLEO, and there was no change.I tried many things related to RF design and antenna matching, but nothing helped. How can I achieve consistent reading of all RFID tags at the same distance, and ensure that the distance is more than 3 cm?I'm now suspecting the variable capacitors or some settings in the ST25R3916B.BestDejan

Good morning,I am using the ANT7-T-M24SR64 evaluation kit based on the NFC front end M24SR64-Y, with a 14x14 mm antenna, and I would like to know what is the exact value of the COIL inductance, as from the ST sw I was not able to replicate the correct inductance value to be able to do a proper tuning.Also, as far as tuning is concerned, should I rely on the 14.2 MHz frequency if I want to be able to increase the reception distance between the receiver and the NFC transmitter? I am trying to use ST25R95 as an ISO14443-A card reader to read a standard Mifare classic 1K card. I am using a logic analyzer (Saleae) to detect that the card response time after sending the SendRecv command is about 500us or more, which is too high for my actual needs, The following is a screenshot of the logic analyzer：Note: The MOSI pin in the figure is not connected to the logic analyzer, as connecting the MOSI pin will cause ST25R95 to fail to start, This issue can be ignored in this discussion for now.  Wait for 100ms after the startup sequence is completed. The IDN command received the correct response. The protocol selection command has received a response of 0x0000. Send SendRecv command: (00) 04 02 26 07 After approximately 500us, IRQ_OUT asserts. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the configuration I'm using or the original ST25R95 design, but I hope to shorten the response time.
