ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

I use CR95HF with UART communication for some applications. I notice that occasionally (seemingly at random) the CR95 will stop responding to any UART commands. I send an ECHO and receive no response. I have experienced this with several of my own designs as well as with X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 development boardOn the rare occasion that I catch this and am able to troubleshoot I have tried cycling power to the chip. This usually fixes it, but not always. Sometimes I have to leave power off for minutes before it will work again.I began suspecting that the issue was temperature dependent as the problem only seems to occur after ~1 hour of being powered up. I tested heating and cooling the device while sending ECHO commands but could not reproduce the problem at all.My best guess now is that the problem stems from the crystal oscillator. I noticed that the oscillator is not always running during normal operation. Perhaps it has trouble starting up in some scenarios?Is there any known issue with

Dear Community,as a hardware developer I'm working on a project with ST25DV Tag.Now I'm facing some problems with the NFC Antenna and would like to try out some double sided ones. I have some example boards and also a list of ST approved antennas but I want to fit the antenna size to my application. That's why I need some formula to calculate.Unfortunately, I can't find any useful information on designing double sided antennas.Do you have any experience with it or do you know good whitepapers or tools to calculate?Of course I know the ST Antenna calculating tool but that's only for single sided antennas.Thank you very much!

Hi I met a problem with reading/writing an NDEF message to ST25DV04k tag with iPhoneXR.I will first introduce some background of the problem.I use NFC Tools and NFC tap(ST) appsWhen the tag is new, I used NFC Tools to write and read NDEF messages successfullyAt some point, I wrote some bytes to the tag by NFC tap( I think the command is writesingleblock) and the NFC Tools can no longer write/read NDEF message to the tag.Read/write bytes on NFC tap is always working fine.​The area1 size is 512ByteI looked up AN4911, and reset the CC bytes as E1 40 40 00 or E1 ​40 3F 00, but my phone still can not recognize the tagMy question is how to set up the ST25DV04k tag in order to be recognized as an "NDEF writable device" ​YuechuanBest Regards

Hi I’m hardware engineer and are about to develop a NFC product using a ST25R3916. I have bought evaluation kit X-Nucleo-NFC06A1 and have designed my circuit based on this evaluation board with same component selection.I have some question regarding the board. When the board are using low power mode with capacitance wake-up function I expected CSI and CSO where used together with the capacitance antenna on the evaluation board to wake up the system. However it seams from my point of view, that the added capacitance antenna are not used in this case and “only�? the main 4 turns antenna. The reason for my findings are because I have unmounted R200 and R202. Furthermore have I cuttet the CSI and CSO traces on the board. The board still wake up by using low power mode capacitance wake up when a MIFARE or ICODE card comes near the antenna. The reading length are roughly 4 cm. Hi,I am trying to get an SPI connection working with my Arduino UNO and the ST25R3911B. I am trying to read the identity register 3Fh but am not getting a response on MISO.My setup is as follows:*VDD & VDD_IO connected with 5V from the Arduino UNO without filtering.*Ground provided by Arduino since it provides the 5V too.*Pins AGD, VSS, VSP_A, VSN_A, VSP_D, VSN_D, VSP_RF, VSN_RF, and pin 33 VSS are grounded as shown in Figure 2 or 3 in the datasheet using decoupling capacitors of 10nF and 2.2uF as stated in the DISCO and layout documents.*13.56MHz crystal is not connected for now since I am only trying to get an SPI connection working for an inital test.*Using a 10k pull-down resistor from MISO to GND since without it I saw a lot of noise on MISO after and while sending the 3Fh command to read the identity register.*I am sending 10h to register 01h before the 3Fh command so that the RFID IC knows a pull-down resistor is being used.*I am not using a particular SPI frequency since I

Hi,I have implemented a smart card in software and the ccid class to interface it via the usb, everything works correctly even for long cryptographic operations (using wtx).Now I wanted to extend the functionality of my card by adding the NFC interface and the chip I chose is the st25r3916 for possible future use as a reader as well.I started from the demo_ce.c example in X-CUBE-NFC6 (STM32CubeExpansion_NFC6_V1.1.0) and everything works correctly until operations that take a short time to be performed, operations such as signature or key generation all fail by disconnecting the card from the reader.What can I do to solve this problem? is there any way to implement the sending of the wtx packet in nfc as well?Thanks and regards.D.

we are trying to use st25r3911b to read UID of iclass HID dy card we have, we can see st25r3911b wake up once card is in range, but the rfalNfcPollTechDetetection is not able to detect any technology (we activated detection of all technologies). How can we fix this?

Dear All, is there a possibility to implement another driver for other commercial reader/writer like the uTrust 3720 into the Software STSW-ST25PC001, or a way to implement it by myself with the STSW-ST25PC002?Or where can I purchase the Feig controller?Thank you in advance.

Hi, Im developing an app that use more than one ST25R3911B-Disco reader boards at the same time and I need a way to differentiate between them. As such, does anyone know if I can use any of the command provided by "ST25R3911_Interface.cs" file and if so, what is the syntax to do the following:1) get STM32 UID2) IdentifyPlease do help. p/s: My last resort is to figure out using "DISCO-STM32L4x6" firmware folder but i hope there is a faster way.

Hello Folks, We intermittently see an "invalid protocol - 0x83' error while reading data.send_cmd 0x04 0x04 0x16 0x00 0x00 0x00rcv_hdr 0x83 0x00This happens intermittently and I have not been successful in reproducing the error. Usually a restart or connect helps to resolve the error.Any pointers on what is causing the error and how to reproduce it on a testing environment?Best Regards,Abhi.

We would like to use the ST25RU3993 in device side usage as described in the ST UHF library manual. Therefore we installed the STSW-ST25RU-SDK Firmware and build it with the TRUE STUDIO. Unfortunatly the given function docycleinventory does not show the tags which are close to the Antenna.We set the programm to use the internal PA and the antenna 1. The frequencyprofile is europe and continious modulation is also active. We log the cycleData variable to know if the inventory found some tags. Could you please tell us what our mistake is, or if there is a missunderstanding, on what this function does?Is there a better way to do inventory etc. than wive the given do cyclicinventory? We found out that we could use the build in Stuhfl_evalApi functions. Unfortunatly we were not able to find good information on how to use them. If we trie them with the init values, the firmware jumps in to an infinit loop. Some examples on how to use the Stuhfl_evalApi functions would be great. And the given

I am writing in reference to RFID tag reader project that we are working on it. We have studied it and this gives us insight how GUI is working and how data is flowing from GUI to RFID pcb.Inspired from your GUI software we are trying to develop our own custom API without using Qt framework. We would also appreciate if you could please provide us individual protocol structure or protocol stack for each tab and button in GUI since we are finding it difficult to trace the protocol structure for tabs and buttons that we want to use in our custom API. 

I use passive RFID tag with NFC03A1 card reader, I have create a little program to detect RFID tag, the range is up to 5 centimeters. Is there a way or a configuration to increase this range ?Thank you in advance.

I'm using the demo code ST25R3911B-DISCO, and I don't find how are making the request for other board by RFID, I want to know if the code using interrupts to make this request each time gap or if this code makes a request just when calling a function?  

I using in my project today the ISO 14443 Protocol, but I Will need to arrive at the highest transmission rate, I believe that ISO14443-4 could give me that rate.Is it possible to implement ISO14443-4 in ST25R3911? What is the function that I can use to read this protocol in the demo code of ST25R3911-disco?

In one of the projects I am working on, we need to develop an RFID reader tester. I was hoping can we use ST25RU3993 for sweeping from 800MHz to 1000MHz. If yes are we supposed to just change the VCO & PLL block register the contents.

we recently bought a M24LR-DISCOVERY evaluation kit.I can able to write and read using ST25 app.For our application we have to develop our our own app. For that i need NFC read & write command code format from ST25 app to M24LR-DISCOVERY.When i try to write "hi" to M24LR04E using ISO15693 & NDEF message i get E1 40 40 01 03 00 D1 01 05 54 02 65 6E 68 69 FE - so what is the meaning of all these bytes?I just want to write M24LR04E tag & read from M24LR04E tag via NFC. Anybody please help me this command code format. Plz reply me as soon as possible.

Is there any information available on recommended loop filter values for 50kHz and 25kHz PLL reference frequencies?  We have info for 100 and 125kHz (see attached). Barring that, the phase detector + charge pump as a unit (V/ radians) would be helpful.

In the schematic for EVAL Kit why we have used Inductors and why we have given Buffer positive supply, { internally regulated } to RF Output of both Internal Amplified and also for Low power Amplifier. PFA image attached.Secondly why they have used the 82pF capacitor before inputting every IC?
