STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read my post. The problem I'm encountering is regarding the configuration of MCO.I configured MCOSEL and MCOPRE to use PLLRCLK with a 1 prescaler value. The PLLR clock is configured with a frequency of 64 MHz.I also activated GPIOAEN in RCC registers and configured PA8 for alternate function 0, push&pull, no push, no pull, low speed and i dont get the clock at all. If i connect an oscilloscope to a pin direclty touching SB17 on the board, i can see the rectangular signal and its generated well, but when I try using PA8 it doesn't work. Hello,I'm interested in Power Line Communication and the X-NUCLEO-PLM01A1.I would like to confirm before purchasing. What is the role of the PLM connector (CN1)?Is it a PLC line? If so, is the Lab DC Supply Inout Connector (CN2) just a power supply?The PLM Connector appears to be a Power Amplifier Output. Does this Connector use a PLC Line? To connect two or more boards, you need to connect the PLM Connector (CN1) to each other. What is the role of CN1? I encountered this error when I was trying to flash my custom board with fresh stm32F070C6T6. I used st link v2 for debugging. I updated the firmware of st link v2 right before debugging. NRST floating, BOOT0 connected to 3V3 -> failed (in any mode)NRST floating, BOOT0 connected to GND -> failed (in any mode)NRST connected to GND, BOOT0 connected to 3V3 -> failed (in any mode)NRST connected to GND, BOOT0 connected to GND -> failed (in any mode) I also tried both on Windows and Mac(m3), and was not successful.I also tried Cube IDE, Cube Programmer, and st link utility, but all did not work.I also tried to use DFU, but it also failed. (no dfu detected) I measured the voltage to be 3.16V and ensured the wiring was ok. Now, I have no idea what I should do to fix this issue. Can anyone point out where it went wrong?Thanks.

Hi, According to mb1363 for the H755 Nucleo, in order to change from the default SMPS to internal LDO supply, to enable 480 MHz clock, I need to change C54/C58 from 100 nF to 2.2 uF. However it appears that there are no capacitors installed on my board (which is working fine BTW). I'm guessing that the 100 nF's have been left off to make it easier to simply add the significantly larger capacitors needed with the LDO, and presumably getting away without the smaller ones? Have I missed something? Also, just to confirm please that R33 is indeed 0 ohms, in other words it's another solder bridge. Thanks in advance.

When I tried to compile a new project using the latest firmware lib function (in keil MDK-ARM uVision), I got these warnings:whether compiling my own project or the template project.It seems like stm32f4xx.h has a lot of incompatible redefinitions? How can I fix this? 

OS: Kubuntu Linux 24.04IDE: STM32CubeIDE 1.17.0 Hello,STM32CubeIDE shows the message "No ST-LINK detected!". Neither the command "lsusb" nor VirtualBox are showing the device. I tried different cables and different USB ports. The quick start guide (UM3276) tells me to "install the STLINK-V3EC USB driver available on the www.st.com website", but there is only a Windows driver.In contrast to this, a NUCLEO-F446ZE board gets detected fine.Is it a dead board or is there any driver I have to install before? If so, where can I find it?

Hi,I am currently working on a project using the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q development board.I am testing with a simple program that turns on the green led and goes to a while loop. I start with "full chip erase" then flash my testing program to the M7 core. I have an issue with one of my nucleo boards where it sometimes get stuck(?) during startup. When I press the reset button on the board it's 50/50 if it will boot up correctly and light up the green LED, or go into a stuck state where I can't reprogram it.I have a second identical board to test with that doesn't have this issue. I have tried in CubeProgrammer to export all the settings from the "good" board and import them to the "bad" board, but it didn't change the behaviour.I have also looke at the "-ob displ" output and only the serial number was different.Any ideas of what to try next?

I have a a few questions. #1 - Can the STM32H747XI on the STM32H747I-DISCO board be put into a DFU mode?#2 - I have a test app where after it is booted, you can push the WAKE button on the board. The handler for that will then set a magic pattern into a DTCM located variable and call NVIC_SystemReset(). This forces a reset of the board, which will then boot the same app. The very first thing the app code does inside of main, is check that DTCM located variable's value. If it is not the magic value, continue running. If it is the magic value, then it should jump to the bootloader, preferably only the DFU portion of it. AN2606 says:In addition to the patterns described above, the user can execute bootloader by performinga jump to system memory from user code. Before jumping to bootloader:• Disable all peripheral clocks• Disable used PLL• Disable interrupts• Clear pending interruptsI've tried numerous iterations of these things as found in the postings on this forum. Hi, Apologies in advance for my ignorance.  I have a NUCLEO-G491RE and want to use it as a USB CDC. Unfortunately I haven't had any success getting it to work. My problem is that doesn't even appear to show as a device on the host. I have looked at several other posts which seem similar. On the one post, they seemed to fix it with a resistor and some extra wiring, but apparently that is only for F series? I also tried increasing the stack and heap size to 2048 as suggested on another post - but still the same. I know the cable and other USB stuff is working, because the on-board stlink shows up - and I can use a serial port through that. To make sure it wasnt some conflict with the stlink, I disabled it by adding the JP1 jumper. And still nothing showed on the host. The code is using the generated STM HAL code and drivers and freeRTOS. What is the proper way to power the STM32 Discovery Kit externally without USB.

Hi! I am new in electronics, but I am trying to design my PCB using STM32F469IIT6. I did a similar project before using a simple atmega168, but the STM32 seems way more complex. I wonder what the minimum of hardware connection is I need to be able to BOOT or even detect the target using my ST-LINK. Right now, I powered all VDD pins and VDDA pins, as well connected all the GND pins. I set up pins 137-SWCLK and 128-SWDIO in my IDE, connected the ST-LINK, but it does not find the target. I wish someone could give me a help.   Thank you!

Hello STM32 Folks,I was hoping to get some information regarding VBAT on STM32U5 MCU. I am currently powering the STM32U5 MCU with 1.8V (VDD supply). I need to have external clock oscillator for the Real Time Clock that is powered by VBAT (Coin Cell battery 3.0V). The external clock oscillator can be powered by 1.65V to 3V.I didn't find any information regarding VBAT being higher than VDD. Will there be any issue with 3.0 V levels for the external clock oscillator for RTC? Or do I need to regulate the VBAT voltage to 1.8V for external clock oscillator? Thanks,

When debugging, the program seems to halt at this point, making it difficult to proceed with the debugging process effectively.Additionally, I've noticed that when using EXTI1_IRQn or EXTI8_IRQn interrupts, the debugger fails to display the location of the current line being executed. This lack of visibility into the code execution flow hampers my debugging efforts even further.It's worth mentioning that I'm using TZEN = 0 configuration. I've tried troubleshooting this problem by checking my interrupt configurations and ensuring that all necessary initialization steps are correctly implemented. Hi,I tried to explore the STM32CubeExpansion_CELLULAR package to change the code according to my need. In that process I am lost. Can anyone guide me on which file should I focus on changing the code? This is too much of code to start with. I have already checked the cellular wiki but it wasn't very helpful to me. So i decided to write my own AT commands to connect to the internet. However, contacting them I got to know that they will not be supporting this module anymore (attached ss) and they also suggested me to buy a different module. Hello, I would like to build a exension board for my ST-LINK V3 to have a custom connector output. To save time and avoid positioning error, where could i get gerber of one of the extension board (MB1440C or MB1599B) ? i just need board edge cut and position of CN10 /11 /12

How does one connect the STLink debug port to an older target with 0.025 square posts on 2.54 mm ptch for the debug connections?  As best I can tell, the supplied cables only support 1.27 mm pitch,

Is the a User Manual available for the Nucleo-N657X0-Q that contains the connector pinouts and jumper settings etc. The document (UM1727) listed on the documentation page https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/nucleo-n657x0-q.html#documentation points to a generic Nucleo document that contains no information specific to the Nucleo-N657X0-Q.

Does any one know if this board can be debugged via the USB port that is connected to the PC or does one require an external debugging link?If external is required which one would you guys recommend I do have ST-LINK V2 which I use for smaller boards.Would like to know what is recommended.

When I try to connect to my device with STM32CubeProgrammer, I get the errors "Unable to get core ID" and "No STM32 target found! Hello community, I have been working with the nucleol476rg in low power modes, but I have had some doubts during the tests I have performed, specifically using the stand by mode, I understand that only the RTC is active in fact with it I set the alarm to wake it up from sleep mode, but it does not consume what is specified in the data sheet since it must be below the order of 50uA but depending on how I feed it it consumes 330uA or almost 4mA, 330 when I connect the power to AVDD and 4mA when I connect it to VIN, should some configuration be done from the Firmware or is it some change in the Hardware that must be implemented? I am attentive to any information, thank you very much.
