What is the proper way to power the STM32 Discovery Kit externally without USB.

To Power your board from an external 5v power supply, you have to wire the 5V of your source to one of the 5V pin of your Board (two pins available on the connector P2) and the GND of your board to on of the GND pins of the Board.
