STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

Hi guys,I've trying to use the S2-LP DK v1.3.5 with the STM32L053R8 and STEVAL-FKI868V2.However, I can not open "COMx (ST DK)". The S2-LP DK shows  "Wrong firmware detected".I've flashed and uploaded the "S2LP_CLI_NUCLEO_L0.bin" but still shows same "wrong firmware detected" message.I've also downloaded the same firmware by using the IAR EW, but still have same message by S2-LP DK.Would please resolve this issue.I wonder the my board or the ST-Link driver for the windows 11 have some issues.Regards,- ChutaTheCat2024 

Hello! I'm new to STM32 hardware, and I'm having some difficulties getting it running on my Black Pill board with an STM32F411CEU6. It has both Read and Write Protection enabled, and I am trying to disable them using STM32CubeProgrammer through an STLINK V2. I'm trying to build up a GUI using TouchGFX for STM32H750B-DK board using the external memory but unable to get anything on screen. Can anybody share the any details or links for the same ?I'm attaching the files for reference. Good Day, I'm new to STM32 Programming and my project is to read ADC value from the potentiometer. However, the problem is the value displayed at the live expression is not constant. Every time I adjust the setting, the current value retrieved will show and after a second the value changes to 2438. Here is my code below:

Hi,I have an external PCB using STM32L432KCU6 to program and debug.  I can program this using the NUCLEO-L433RC-P (MB1319C) and NUCLEO-L476RG development boards in STLink configuration.Using the L476, I can see the output of the SWV from printf (MCU freq is 4 MHz, matched in STM32CubeIDE software or ST-Link Utility).If I replace the programming board for the NUCLEO-L433RC-P, I can still interact with and debug the external MCU, but the SWV output no longer works.If I remove the Idd pin from the NUCLEO side of the board (i.e. with the inbuilt L433 chip) then the STM32CubeIDE or ST-Link utility no longer recognise any target device on the SWD bus.In both cases, the CN2 connectors are configured as ST-Link (i.e. jumpers disconnected).Any advice on why the SWV would not work in this second case is appreciated.Regards,Jonathan

I am using STMCubeIDE v1.7 on MacOS 10.15.7 and connecting to my target via an STLINK V3. I updated CubeIDE to v1.7 and it suggested an update to the STLINK. Hello,I'm trying to setup communication over SPI between an STM32G0B1CE and an ISM330 but am unable to get responses from the ISM330 despite a logic analyzer showing good bus signals.Below is a successful transaction performed with an arduino as the host and the ISM330 as the slave. Note that we are reading the 0x0F register and are seeing a response of 0x6B. Note that a read requires a 1 for the first r/w bit and therefore shows as 0x8F.This response is what we would expect to see when we replace the arduino with the STM32. However when replaced with the STM32, the logic analyzer shows the following:We cannot figure out what the meaningful difference between these 2 captures is that would cause this response from the chip. Additionally when we force a slight pause in between the two 8 bit parts of the transaction to mimic the arduino waveform, we see the same response (and sometimes we see absolutely no response at all).Are there certain timing requirements of SPI that we're not

Hello,I am new to the STM32 platform and will be using it to prototype an embedded controller.  I ordered an STM32H7S78-DK Discovery board since it had all the necessary IOs available and included a touchscreen display.  However, I also need Bluetooth communication.  I found the X-NUCLEO-IDB05A2 and X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1 Nucleo Bluetooth expansion boards; will these work with the Discovery board?  The datasheets only mention STM32 Nucleo compatibility, but the expansion boards use the Arduino UNO R3 connector, which is present on the Discovery board and I imagine has a compatible pinout.  I might be misunderstanding how the expansion board connects...If neither of these will work, is there another way for me to add Bluetooth functionality to the Discovery board, or am I better off obtaining a Nucleo board and developing the Bluetooth functionality independently?Thanks in advance.

Can I safely get that power out of any of the nucleo PD boards with a usb3 pd input? Can I get any higher current or voltage?  Output is 2 pin barrel connector. Target application is fully documented here. Thanks so much in advance Joe

I am trying to make some very low current (<1uA) power measurements on the MCU on the STM32U083C-DK demo board.I see that jumper `JP7` is provided specifically for this purpose, but I am concerned that connections from the MCU to the STLINK interface might leak current and throw off these measurements- especially when testing with MCU Vcc voltages that differ from the STLINK supply voltage.  Is this a valid concern, or are those connections equivalent to air-gapped when the MCU is normally running?Thanks!

I need to connect the NUCLEO-IHM16M1 driver with STM32F308 but due to smd resistors soldered on top of the driver NOT compatible with my STM (and not having the right tools to desolder them) so I can't attach/put/stick the driver on top of the ST (as is usually done).I decided to manually connect the two boards with wires:(the connections in the drawing are random, don't look at the pins!)I tried connecting as in the picture but nothing lights up on the driver, not even an LED.The cases are two: either the driver is burned out (likely because it was used by others before me) or some connections are missing to the ones I have already made.My question then is: are there any connection missing besides the ones in the picture? ... that are: enables, currents feedback, inputs, and 5V? Other suggestions are open but let's not talk about how to desolder smd components because that's not what I want to do ... I want to manually connect wire to wire.Thanks.  

Spoiler (Highlight to read)  My ST-Link was working perfectly at first. I could connect it to USB, upload code, and toggle the LED using a button. However, after upgrading the ST-Link firmware, my computer can't detect it via USB anymore. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello, I am trying to operate NFC IC ST25R95 on a custom board. But I can't get any answers. I attached a logic analyzer. To validate the circuit, I connected the SPI lines to a Nucleo-f413zh and ran the example code from the X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 library, and again, no responses. Does anyone know how to proceed?The circuit photo is attached. The connections to Nucleo-f413zh are the same of X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1.

We are looking to work with the STM32U5A9J-DK Discovery kit, which features the STM32U5A9NJH6Q MCU. Our application requires the use of the Octal SPI flash memory in a FreeRTOS environment. Specifically, we need to perform simultaneous read and write operations on the flash memory from two different threads.Does the Octal SPI driver support parallel read and write operations.Can we perform simultaneous read and write operations from different threads?Are there any limitations or specific considerations we should be aware of when attempting to implement this functionality?Thank in advance.
