I have not seen displays with 1 data Lane MIPI but they are always 2 data Lane MIPI

but some STM chips have only one 1 data Lane MIPI

Can it be somehow connected like grounding the remaining line.

    Hello @MNapi ,

Most of STM32MCUs have DSI with 2 data lanes including STM32L4S9 UFBGA144, WLCSP144, UFBGA169 packages.

For certain STM32L4S9  packages (LQFP100 and LQFP144), have a DSI with only 1 data lane.

I think you can find displays with 1 data lane on market as the display used in 32L4R9IDISCOVERY board "1.2” 390x390 pixel AMOLED round display" which supports only 1 data lane.

Note that, in this case it is display limitation not STM32 MCU limitation because the STM32L4R9AII6 supports MIPI® DSI 2-lanes .

If your display requires more lanes than your chip supports, you need to contact the display manufacturer to check if the display can be configured to work with fewer lanes.

I hope this answer your request.

    Thank you.
