Connecting a debugger probe to a chip in standby mode: L0 vs F103

Hello,  

I was testing f103 in a standby mode and wiring a nRESET line was enough to connect to the chip with a Segger debug probe in a connect under reset mode.  But apparently L0 chips also require pulling BOOT0 pin high.  I am guessing that is because Flash is turned off?  But I can connect to f103 in standby mode with BOOT0 low just fine.  Does it mean I somehow didn't switch it to the full power down mode or standby on f103 doesn't turn FLASH off?

I thought about it, and it shouldn't really be about booting, since the whole point of connecting under reset is to prevent booting. I don't understand what BOOT0 has to do with this then. And I also noticed that once BOOT0 is set to either high or left floating and then connecting with a probe, disconnecting, and then pulling BOOT0 back to GND revives the chip without reprogramming it. So sounds like it has nothing to do with flash.
