Some of the STM32 CPUs have a USART with a Timeout timer which is good for modbus applications.

Is there any overview available which CPU devices have this specific periperal implemented?

In the Datasheet this function is called RTOIE, or RTOR.

Unless there is a information source I am not aware of, you won't find this information readily available and you may need to browse through the RMs.

A slight help might be looking at the timeline of introduction - as soon as you find a family without this feature, most likely older families won't have it either. In other words, newer families tend to use the newest verison of the IPs used in configuring them.  This is onlya coarse guideline; there are exceptions.

In the UART section of data sheet (DS) document you can find how many U(S)ARTs there are, and which of them have which optional features. Including the RTO.  If RTO is not mentioned at all, it is not available.
