Question

USB-HS without ULPI-PHY

Hi,
We are using the STM32F446RCT6TR together with a ULPI-PHY in an application to be able to use USB-HS. Is there a controller from ST with which we can dispense with the ULPI-PHY if we use USB-HS + USB-FS with otherwise the same properties as the STM32F446RCT6TR?

Regards,

There is no STM32F4 equivalent with an internal USB HS PHY. Other families have some chips with them, but it would require significant effort to port your application over to them.

STM32 chips with internal HS PHY are as follows:

    • STM32F722/723
    • STM32F732/733
    • STM32H7S/H7R
    • STM32U59x

    Maybe others from newer families?

It's really frustrating to try and find STM32 chips with integrated HS PHY. The sources from ST are unreliable. For example, this document, which is updated September 2024, fails to mention many of these:

    I don't think so.

Thanks, fixed. I verified them all via the datasheet before I posted but clearly messed that one up somehow.

StMcuFinder also does not provide help.  "USBH HS From 0 to 2" drag bar behaves strange, no chance to select "1". There is no selection for built-in USB HS phy neither.

Btw. I am not aware of HS PHY being internally in any other STM32 than what's in your list.
