GNSS positioning

Is a document available that defines all the configuration data blocks for the LIV4F?  We are specifically looking for the contents of configuration data block 263, which seems to configure the I2C interface.

 I have some problem with DR mode.I can't recieve any $PSTMDR2 or $PSTMDRCAL messages, so the status of DR remains unknown.But I checked the CDB 228-230 with $PSTMGETPAR, the following are the response.========$$PSTMSETPAR,1228,0x00000000*5A$$PSTMSETPAR,1229,0x6cc22000*5D$$PSTMSETPAR,1230,0x00000000*53==========In CDB 229, bit 60-63 is 6, meaning that the $PSTMDR and $PSTMDRCONFID are enabled, but I can only see $PSTMDRCONFID. There are no $PSTMDR message there. Are there any problem with my configurations?Also, I had enabled these messages in CDB 229, meaning that these message should be update in 10 Hz. I'm using the Teseo-LIV3F module in my project, and I want to receive NMEA messages at a higher frequency than 1 Hz. Is there a command to set the message output rate to 500 ms?

I'm new to the LIV4F (I have a Teseo-LIV4F evalution kit), coming from u-blox. We have an NTRIP Client who delivers RTCMv3 data to the serial Port of the LIV4F, but the data seems to be ignored (the same data with a u-blox ZED-F9P is working fine). Do I have to enable the receiving of RTCM data in the LIV4F?

Hi Community,I have been approaching the GNSS theory and the TESEO Hardware for few weeks and many questions come into my mind regarding the Hot Start and the Cold Start.First things first, I am using a custom PCB on whom surface  the TESEO, LTE modules and other stuff are mounted; this custom application is not provided of a back-up battery.So my question is: May I expect a Hot Start / Warm Start even if the device is not provided of a back-up battery or it will experience a cold start every time the circuit is rebooted  ?Given the aforementioned conditions, does the possibility to save the ephemeris on the built-in flash memory  in order to have a hot start exist ? Thank you in advance for your precious help.   

Hi everyone,I am using the TESEO LIV3-FL EVB. Suddenly the PPS green led stopped to work and the device was simply connected via UART/USB to my laptop. This happen while I was trying to set a log data recording.Now I am trying to restart the evaluation board over and over again but the PWR ON led (RED) is the one the work.Any suggestion ? What should I do in these conditions ? The evaluation board arrived to me just yesterday.Many Thanks in advanceCarlo Piacenza

Hi all, We're having trouble getting the module to respond to the message "$PSTMEPHEM" We're attempting to upload ephemeris data but the module is ignoring the message, ie: the module is not responding with either "PSTMEPHEMOK" or '"PSTMEPHEMERROR" To help debug this, we did the following,We used 'PSTMDUMPEPHEMS' to get emphemerides and ensure our formatting is correct, and load them into an array.We then cold-start the module and use "PSTMINITGPS" to initialize the approximate time and position, to which we do receive a 'PSTMINITGPSOK' in response.Then we try to upload one of the ephemeris strings (received in step 1), but we get no response, OK or ERRORWe are able to get/set parameters, init time and position, and dump ephemeris data just fine, but we can't seem to get a response to the 'PSTMEPHEM' message,  try as we might.Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance,-Jake

Hi, We are currently working on integrating software support for the Teseo-LIV3FL GNSS module (specifically, the PNT-SG3FS part) on our OpenQ 8550 SOM Development Kit (https://www.lantronix.com/products/open-q-8550cs-som-development-kit/). The GNSS module interfaces with the 8550 development kit via UART. We have updated the relevant DTSI files in our platform and verified that UART TX/RX communication is functioning correctly. However, when attempting to read the data from the GNSS module, the output appears to be unstructured or junk data. It also seems that the module is not acquiring a satellite fix. Hi team, i have built a custom gnss application for my UAV, using the teseo liv 4f module.i have attached my circuit herewith, and also the corresponding output from the teseo suite.The module has no fix always and is not locking onto any sat.please look into my circuit and let me know the issue.I have used a taoglass passive antenna(Acurra GNSS) for the circuit.

Hi all. I have a Teseo-LIV4F that I am working with. My project has an L1 and an L5 antenna as the receiving antennas.I am looking to feed a combination of L1 and L5 into the Teseo-LIV4F. I obviously need a diplexer/multiplexer of some sort so that I can give the Teseo-LIV4F the required single RF IN signal. Does anybody know of a well known reliable brand/model of a diplexer/multiplexer that I could use? Thanks for the feedback!

Hi.I want to use the STA8135 chip in my circuit board.the datasheet doesn't have any application notes, like power filtering requirements, individual pin description, method of GNSS data transfering etc.Is there an application note somewhere that I'm missing, or maybe a full reference design?Any help here will be most appreciated! thanks,Yonatan

Hi.I want to use two GNSS receiver ICs from the Teseo v family (either STA8100 or STA8135).It is important in my application that the 3-bit ADC sampling of both receivers will be synchronized.The IC has a TCXO input which obviously is used as the reference for the down-conversion LO PLL circuit.Is this TCXO input used as the source for the ADC clock as well? or is the clock sourced from an internal oscillator? Thanks,Yonatan

Hello, I m working in my design with the Teseo-LIV3F chip, I copied the schematic and routing of the eval board of the Teseo-LIV3F. the amplification stage is also the same that the eval board but I received no GPS or no satellite position. I read many similar posts on this subject, and the issue is often due to RF section (wrong value of passive component for decoupling capacitor) or antennas. Is it possible to write our own firmware for STA8135GA IC? I want to get the raw measurements from the baseband IC in STA8135GA and implement my own navigation algorithm and load the firmware to the IC. Is this possible?

Hello,We have worked with the LIV3F during the last design. The topology followed the recommendations of "User Manual, UM2231, Teseo-LIV3 GNSS Modules, Hardware Manual.". Our main doubts start when we question the recommendation that this application note makes about an isolation power ground "inderectly" connected to the ground pad of the Teseo LIV3F. (8. Layout recommendation)Why would something like this be required? Following this, the LIV4F application note seems to not have as many hardware recommendations as the LIV3F has, and these don't make any reference to the isolation gnd. Is the Teseo LIV4FTR an upgraded package of the LIV3F?Would you recommend using for best performance LIV4FTR? Should we follow previous hardware recommendations from the LIV3F, like the LNA and SAW RF filter implementation? The final idea is to achieve the best GNSS performance with a SM patch antenna like the SGGP. 12.4.A.02

Hello,I am using a TESEO LIV3F which supply pins are connected as follow :- Pin 8 (VCC) : 2.4v supplied by a SMPS that may be turned OFF- Pin 7 (VCC IO) : 3.2v supplied by a LDO that may be turned OFF- Pin 6 (Vbatt) : Permanent 3.2v provided by batteriesBy reading the docs I understood that the module, once powered ON for the first time, needs 12.5 min to acquire the almanac followed by the euphemeris, then they are both stored in the backup RAM that belongs to the RTC domain supplied by Vbatt (permanent supply in this case).After the FIX have been obtained for this session, the module is no longer needed and the CPU sends a PSTMFORCESTANDBY for 99999 seconds (is it mandatory ?), after receiving a PSTMFORCESTANDBYOK, the module enters standby mode and the CPU shuts down the supplies from VCC and VCC IO, leaving only Vbatt with 3.2v supply.The LIV3F's RTC clock keeps track of the time and stores the almanac and euphemeris data, after approx 24 hours the module is powered on again (

Hello,i'm using VIC3DA module in a dashboard to measure the vehicle speed. I encountered 2 big issues.1. Some times the module requires several minutes to fix the position, even in warm start2. Some times the speed coming from the module in completely random even if the vehicle is at 0 km/h of speed.In that conditions, if i turn-off and on again the power supply, some times the module starts to works normally and fix the satellite in a reasonable time (<=1 min).I read a document about the IMU calibration. Is it really required? Since i'm working for an automotive project, will be quite impossible to calibrate every dashboard after the production, because of the big amount.Are there any special settings to do on the module to improve time to fix and sensor fusion function? Many thanks

Hello,I have assembled a PCB that contains a TESEO LIV3F + LNA + SAW, this part of the schematics is shown below.Using the teseo suite pro, the GPS receives no signal so I used a -9dB 1575MHz RF source on the input and measured the RF power at the output (GPS_RF_IN), the signal is well amplified and filtered but the LIV3F module cannot see a single satellite.Any ideas pls ?

Hi, I am working on a senior design project at my university where we are planning to incorporate the teseo liv-4f module with the ASGPDF254.A active antenna. From what I see the power is pin 11 the rf_in pin the data sheet says (3v available). This leads me to believe the signal is regulated by either module as well as seen in the data sheet meaning that we can directly connect the pin 11 (liv4) <-> pin 1 (antenna) without an inductor or cap to filter the signal. Our professor is skeptical that it works in this manner, we are having difficulty determining which design is correct.  The second design has the filter capacitor on the rf_in, and the choke inductors on Vcc coming from another source.Thank you

HiI have some question regarding the Teseo-VIC3D information which I cannot find.1. The Teseo-VIC3D should have its own asm330 unit which internally is interfaced over SPI, right? 2. Is it possible to interface the ASM330 as if it where an external hw unit?3. Or just to get the values?3a. If yes how often?3b. and is it calibrated, raw or both values?4. I can see there are several commands to set uart/nmea port speed- CDB-ID 102 – NMEA port baud rate setting- $PSTMCFGPORT on UARTare there any difference in which to use? /Rasmus

Hello, I'm working with a Teseo EVB-VIC3DA.I want to control the data flow on the UART and query only the sensor data I'm interested in.After setting the baud rate to 921600, I proceeded to disable all automatically sent messages using the command $PSTMNMEAONOFF,0.My idea was to use the $PSTMNMEAREQUEST command to retrieve only the messages of interest.When sending $PSTMNMEAREQUEST,0x2,0*06, I correctly receive the $GPGGA message as specified in CDB-ID 201 of the documentation (UM2791 - TeseoVIC3 Software Instructions, STMicroelectronics).My question is whether it is possible to do the same with the DRAW messages ($PSTMDRSENMSG 30,31 and 3, bitmask 0x10000000), as I am interested in accelerometer, gyroscope, and odometer data.When I try $PSTMNMEAREQUEST,0,0x10000000*35, I only receive an acknowledgment from the device.If this is not possible, I am interested in reducing the message rate from these sensors.I attempted to do this using the command $PSTMCFGMSGL,0,50,0,0x10000000*01, but a

Hi all,I have been using the TESET-VIC3  to test IMU sensor, I enable SENMSG from message list 0 ($PSTMSETPAR,1228,0x7********) I found that latency is so High when I receive $PSTMSENMSG,30/31 So I chose to disable all GNSS-related msg and keep only the sensor msg from message list 2 (for low lattency) :$PSTMSETPAR, 1228, 0x0$PSTMSETPAR, 1201, 0x0$PSTMSETPAR, 1230, 0x10000000$PSTMSAVEPAR$PSTMSRR Once I did that, the module is no more responding to any cmds, not replying to $PSTGETPAR nor $PSTSRR, not even factory restore... UART TX Pin of the TESEO is always set on 1 ! I lost control of the module. Anyone could help with that and how to make it respond back ?Thank you in advance
