I have initialized I2C on BlueNRG-248 as a master, and it is able to successfully transmit address and data to the slave, but is unable to receive data and acknowledgement from it. I monitored the lines on an oscilloscope, and confirmed that the slave is working fine and is responding with the correct data as well as acknowledgement.It would be really appreciable if someone could help me through this.Looking forward to hearing back soon.Warm regards,Abbas.

Posted on August 10, 2015 at 13:32I am performing some tests on the CSMA feature. Specifically on the non persistent CCA method. I have a test process whereby every 10s the transmitting module has its TX FIFO flushed, has its FIFO filled with 20 bytes of data, then the TX command (0x60) is issued. The transmission is basic packet protocol with fixed payload length of 20, GFSK1, 38.4k data rate, in the 868MHz band and I believe other related radio and protocol parameters are at least reasonably correct since the receiver is receving the packets just fine, although missing perhaps 10% at present (even at short range). Though this is something I have to figure out perhaps in terms of Quality acceptance filters, for the moment I also thought I'd try and test the CSMA feature on the transmitting unit. How can I know if my IC is TDA7293 or TDA7293V?

I have a product in which a STM32F417 (BGA) micro is attached to a LAN8720A (QFN) Phy using the RMII interface. It uses an external 50MHz oscillator going to the Phy and STM32.For testing newly assembled PCBs in mass production, is there a way to test the integrity of the TXD[0:1], TXEN, RXD[0:1], RXER & CRS_DV signals, i.e. die to die, without having to use an Ethernet stack? I'm thinking something low speed using the interface as GPIOs instead of full speed RMII.

Hi,When editing the GATT characteristic in the provided software for the SensorTile, I cannot increase the size of the payload being transmitted. Even after altering the charValueLen variable, this doesn't appear to affect the length of the packet being sent (In screenshots below edited to be increased to 40 Bytes instead of 8 Bytes): If there is another variable I'm missing to increase the packet length could somebody help me out?Thanks  

Hello,I am using the BLUENRG-M2SA in my design. In the BLUENRG-M2 datasheet at https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/bluenrg-m2.pdf, it is stated that all GND pins must be grounded. However, in the BLE module integration design guidelines (DT0142) at https://www.st.com/resource/en/design_tip/dt0142-ble-module-integration-design-guidelines--stmicroelectronics.pdf, it is recommended to leave the top portion of the module overhanging the edge of the PCB, which will make it impossible to connect Pin 21 of the BLUENRG-M2SA to GND.I am really confused by the 2 contradictory statements in these documents. Which one should I follow:Connect Pin 21 to GND, which means that the module cannot overhang the edge of the PCB - or -Do not connect Pin 21 to GND and leave the module overhanging the edge of the PCBAny guidance would be appreciated.Thank you

Hello,I really like the NUCLEO-WL55JC platform as it provides many features for FSK which I am using, but when I checked the UM, I didn't find a way to wake Up the MCU by receiving a Frame. From my experience, there should be a mode different than RX, in which the Transceiver is in sleep and wakes Up and them force the wake Up of the MCU to handle the incoming frame. Is there a way to fulfil this requirement?Thanks,Ayoub

I've noticed in the schematic there are 3pF capacitors connected to the ADC Input 1 and Input 2Does anyone know why this is done?For the time being I have linked across this. I am using BlueNRG M2 in a network co-processor mode and want to send 10 packets per second, each of 100 bytes. I have generated code through STM32CubeMX and changed the ATT_MTU value from 23 to 247 in the bluenrg1_gatt_server.h file, which was generated by STM32CubeMX.When I call the data length function with parameters hci_le_set_data_length(251, 2120), I receive a callback in hci_le_data_length_change_event with MaxTxOctets set to 27, which seems like packet fragmentation after sending data.I went through the DTM example and found the BlueNRG_Stack_Initialization function, which includes a parameter named MAX_ATT_MTU. However, this parameter is not available when using BlueNRG M2 in network co-processor mode. How can I send 100 bytes of data in a single packet in network co-processor mode?

Dear all, I'm just getting started using a BlueNRG-M2 module and a host STM32.Browsing through the documentation I've seen that chapter 3.2 of bluenrg-m2 datasheet mentions "Host-less mode (application processor): customer application runs on the BlueNRG-M2 module." this seems very interesting as no other microcontroller is needed. Unfortunately I don't see anywhere how to develop my application this way.      Could someone point me in the right direction on how to get started? looking forward your replies, Best regards, Mauro. 

Hi, I am experimenting with STEVAL-ID008V2 evaluation board and the DTM project from the SDK. It seems the DTM firmware using the external 32KHz clock for as the Low frequency clock source. Where about the source code of the DTM project I could set the low frequency clock source to use the internal RC only, as on my custom board I don't have a 32KHz external clock. Is it where I have pointed in the screenshot?Many thanks,

Hi,We want to use the S2-LP with embedded SMPS enabled. The recommended inductor value is 10uH.We need to lower the inductor value. Hi All,Some of the grander Evaluation/Discovery boards use an STM32L152 as a slave Multi Function eXpander with an I2C interface. It's pre-programmed with firmware that provides access to some of the peripherals on the board.As it happens, I'm about to develop the exact same thing. I'm an engineer, so I don't want to reinvent the wheel (especially since that wheel is a pretty good fit). However, it seems ST hasn't released the source code for the MFX. In fact, they barely describe the interface.Does anyone know if the MFX v3 is open source and where I could obtain it?CheersDavid

If I put the default firmware into the SPBTLE-1S module, then BLE gets initialized but the added custom services don't show up on any tools I use to inspect BLE devices (such as ST BLE Toolbox). As I said, I only get the two above generic services and I cannot seem to use either of those with read/write events to transfer data. I am really looking to just push a small string one way or the other between the sensortile.box and

I am trying to develop a new product range based on the BLE MESH network for which I have selected the BlueNRG-LP family to go with.I have downloaded the latest mesh software stack "STSW-BNRGLP-Mesh v1.01.000" from the website and am able to run the given sample application "lighting demo" on • STEVAL-IDB011V1 using Kiel.But I couldn't locate the developer's guide for the BLE MESH stack anywhere.Kindly help me to guide the developer's guide or if ST provides no such guide for their mesh stack then how can I quickly build my own application based on BlueNRG mesh.As this is my first time with ST products so any help would be appreciated.

Hello ST-CommunityI have a little problem with bluenrg-2m, I'm handling the the user event process in 100ms RTOS timer call back with stmn32f446.The problem is when I send a file using mobile app call bluetooth terminal, It become too slow !1kbyte per second.I can't find the reason. Is it from the mobile app or from bluenrg.Other query, Can I change the this numbers in bluenrg_conf.c?

My customer installed some sites with cards with S2-LP (one central board and one remote).On a particular location the S2-LP crashes. Now I'm searching the problem but while I'm searching I would like that the customer resets the S2-LP (not the entire card) remotely by IOT and avoid to visit the site.But calling a second time MX_X_CUBE_SUBG2_Init() doesn't work. After this the SPI works correctly (I'm polling the chip ID) but there is no more interrupt generated by the S2-LP(checked with the scope on the 4 GPIO).Any idea? Status seems correct:

Hi,I have a custom PCB based on STM32L4R9 with a SPI interface to BlueNRG-2 flashed with DTM SPI (2.1f stack). I use X-CUBE-BLE2.I'm able to communicate with the module such as retrieve firmware details, start and stop tones. The problem I'm seeing is that the IRQ line often stays high after sending a command. The command is executed and later commands is also executed with success.
