We need configuration code as we are developing the firmware on Zephyr.

Hi all, I'm using a L6482H on a PCB with STM32F439VIT6 to drive a stepper motor. MCU and driver are connected via SPI. I have an issue with the GetStatus command; when the switch input on the L6482H is closed and the driver receives a GetStatus command, sometimes it moves the stepper motor to order to open the switch input. It does not move the motor everytime, but sometimes it happens. I tested this behaviour by repeatedly sending the GetStatus command with the switch closed (200 ms between every command). If the MCU send a MOVE command and ask the Status continously to test the "Busy" flag, the drive sometimes moves incoerently. It seems to happen when the Status is asked with the switch closed. Is there any relation between the GetStatus and the Switch input? I configured the drive to don't use the switch as "HARD STOP" interrupt (SW_MODE = 1 in CONFIG register) and the ALARM_EN mask the external switch condition   Thank you for the support.

Hello, I purchased this IC and would like to use it to alternately control four different inputs so that the IC’s four outputs can switch sequentially. However, I'm currently facing an issue: I’m only providing input to a single channel, e.g., Ain, but the IC outputs on all four channels simultaneously. Could you please advise on the possible causes?

Hello, we are searching for a USB PD Power Budgeting/ Load Sharing solution. Here an example: Lets say we have 4 USBC PD Ports. All in all they sould be able to source 60W. One port is sourcing 15V/3A=45W, then the remaining 4 should just be able to source 15W. Does ST have a solution for Load Sharing in its portfolio? When I quick searched all datasheets for the USBC PD Chips i havn't found anything. Thanks in advance.

I am designing an interface board where there is an ADC that needs two different power supplies (3.3V and 2.5V). To minimize this board, instead of bringing the two power supplies from outside, I would like to bring only the 3.3V one and through a voltage regulator provide the 2.5V one. Could anyone suggest a product that would be useful for this purpose? Thank you.

Hi, I am currently implementing software/firmware for the PowerSTEP01 chip and discovered a inconsistency in data sheet https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/powerstep01.pdf. For parameter INT_SPEED (section 11.1.11 in datasheet) the equation does correspond to the stated limits.It says:i.e. steps/s = INT_SPEED × (2^−18) ÷ (250×10^−9)For smallest possible INT_SPEED=1 you get the minimum value: steps/s = 1 × (2^−18) ÷ (250×10^−9) = 15.25For largest possible 14 bit value you get the maximum value: step/s = (2^(14+1)−1) × (2^−18) ÷ (250×10^−9) = 499984.74But according to datasheet equation results should be in range 0 < steps/s < 976.5. So what is correct?NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. According to the reference circuit, R43 is 75kohm.Also UM2154 User manual said that R43 should be higher than 30kohm.What happens if R43 is 22kohm. Is overcurrent detected by STSPIN32F0?

HelloI need to estimate IFSM for certain current pulse.Does anyone know how to do it?I found this app note :Schottky diode avalanche performance in automotive applications (st.com)But it is not clear the method as intervals are weird :I ^4 x t = Cste for tsin>10 msI ^3 x t = Cste for 20 µs < tsin >10 ms  I ^2 x t = Cste for tsin<20 msand not sure if this is also applicable for standard diodes.In  addition, I wonder how to derate for different temperature in case datasheet does not contain this information.Tks. 

Regarding the shunt resistors connected to the SENSEA and SENSEB pins, the UM1829 has three 0.1 ohm resistors connected. Why is this? The datasheet says one 0.1 ohm resistor.Do I really need three of them?

Hi, Can PD Controller (STUSB4710) act as a DRD?STUSB4710 - Stand-alone USB PD controller (with short-to-VBUS protection) - STMicroelectronicsI believe that STUSB4710 cannnot operate as DRD (Dual Role Data), and can only function as UFP.If there is a way to operate it as DRD, please let me know how to configure it. 

Hey, probably a dumb question, but I couldn’t find it in the datasheet. Can each pin of the VNQ9025AJ handle 30A, or is that the rating for the smart switch as a whole with a limit on each pin? Honestly, I’m hesitant to believe a single pin can handle 30A.

I know this is a really dumb question, but I cannot find a definitive answer in the datasheet for the VNQ9025AJ, Quad channel high-side driver with Current Sense analog feedback for automotive applications.There are 4 pins called INPUT0 to INPUT3. There are 4 output pins called OUTPUT0 to OUTPUT3. I just want to verify that when INPUT0 goes to a logic 1 value, that OUTPUT0 is activated (i.e. current is flowing).I would also like to know if the input/output relationships are independent of each other. In other words, can I have INPUT0 and INPUT1 high at the same time with current flowing in OUPUT0 and OUTPUT1 at the same time? Or, can there only be one active input/output pair at a time?The datasheet says"Voltage controlled input pin with hysteresis, compatible with 3 V and 5 V CMOS outputs; controls output switch state.""controls output switch state" is a bit vague, IMO. it is also confusing to see the 4 CS output states controlled by 2 multiplexed control lines, whereas the 4 output l

Hi,When I was trying for DC-DC converter design, I have found this VIPer22A Isolated DC-DC converter design. I am having two queries here,1) Is still this technology in use?2) Can I get the details about the transformer which used here?Is there any new technology for the same DC-DC converter pls suggest for me. I have come across this part for my product for alternate part. we are using reset function as separate pin, and we generate 8.3ms of low pulse for reset function to the motor driver. On your datasheet STSPIN820 IC they general given an active low to reset and move to low power consumption. but I need to use reset function. what is the progress to do. or give me the time duration of reset.

Hi,We are using the chip PowerSTEP01 in our design. In the datasheet, it is mentioned in the application diagram that the VDDIO pin can be powered from the VREG pin. However, the X-NUCLEO IHM03A1 evaluation board design shows that it is powered externally. Which one is the correct way of doing it? Are there any problems or limitations in powering the VDDIO from the internal regulator? Best Regards,Biju

Hello. I am using your STP45N FETs in our power supply design for an audio amplifier and we are getting field returns with the STP45N65M5 part damaged. It appears that the gate and source have been shorted but I am not 100% sure. Do you have any insight as to what may cause this or is there a facility where I can send a couple of these damaged FETs to get some failure analysis done? Hello,I am investigating in using L5970AD DCDC converter for a 12VDC to 3V3 need.It was advised to me by the ST DCDC online simulator.It's a 20 year old circuit but it it matches the budget, the additional BOM and the efficiency so I am interested.But I don't reach in answering some questions. If one of you can share some return of experience about this chip I am gladly listening.I am in design phase, looking datasheets, and except error I don't find my answers :- The VREF signal is noticed as 3V3. 3V3 is the output I want to create. On the Typical application schematic it seems not clear for me if connecting VREF to the output is okay, or if we need a precursor 3V3 ??? Should we supply a high impedance 3V3 from resistor divided input for example ? I couldn't reach advise about it, the is no paragraph about VREF. Is it an input or an output? What about generating 5V, do we need a 3V3 rail ? Also, even if switching frequencies are different, why not group L5970AD and L5970D in one

I'm attempting to use an LDL1117S12R_SOT223 as a current regulator as is shown in application notes for an LM1117 and many similar regulators but it is not working.  I have tried it with and without a 4.7uF capacitor across the current setting resistor but it does not work either way. I have R set to 3.4 ohms and with a load drawing 10mA I am dropping about 2.245V across the regulator and it has a 200mV down sloping sawtooth wave on the output. Should the LDL1117S12R_SOT223 work as a current regulator? If yes, can anyone please suggest the simplest circuit for current regulation? I don't need any precision. Thanks, Gbugh

Hello,I have some questions regarding programming the development kit. We have configured a BMS IC and MCU using a 3-cell setup based on the development kit circuit. Our circuit replicates the schematic and pin configuration of the L99615, connecting cells to pins Cell3 through Cell5.However, during testing with a cell simulator, we encounter an unknown fault that prevents us from performing charge/discharge tests. This fault does not match any described in the datasheet, so we are reaching out for assistance.In our program, we enabled OVC_Enable and CSA_Enable, but we observed that enabling OVC_Enable specifically seems to trigger an unknown fault.We would appreciate guidance on resolving this issue. If you look at the SPV1050 constraints item in 6.4 MPPT Setting in the SPV1050 Datasheet, it is clearly stated that Vmpp(max) should not be applied over 2.1V.However, looking at an4397 (Application Note), even if Vin (Range: 2.6V ~ 9V) is more than 5V, more than 2.1V is applied to the Vmpp Pin.Does it matter if more than 2.1V is applied to the Vmpp Pin?

Are curves available for 4, 5, 6 AMPS?
