Power management

Hi I am currently working on a project using stwlc38.I am using it in conjunction with a power management IC, MAX17330.The circuit is simple, VOUT and system power is connected and normally I use it to discharge the battery which is connected to MAX17330 ic, but when the stwlc38 chip detects the wireless charging and sends the output to VOUT, MAX17330 ic receives the output and charges the battery.There is a problem in this part When the system voltage connected to the VOUT pin is 3.05V or less, it recognizes that it is charging well.When the voltage is higher than 3.05V, it does not recognize that it is connected to TX (op mode is fixed to 1).Do you know of any settings or workarounds related to this?

Hi,When STWBC86 is operating fully independently without being interfaced with a host system, how can the GPIO be used to drive indicator LEDs to indicate charging status, fault etc? The datasheet shows how these can be programmed to inputs or outputs but how are the relevant functions assigned?Cheers

Hello! I have asked the few I know who have knowledge of this and now turn to this one inexhaustible source of knowledge aka. the electronics forum. I was going to buy stepper motors yesterday but got so confused about the spec that I need to get an answer to this first. 2 different stepper motors, quite close in size but with very different spec. https://www.oyostepper.de/goods-40-Nema-17-Schrittmotor-Bipolar-12V-18-Grad-40Ncm-04A-12-Volt-4-Dr%C3%A4hte-Hybrid-Schrittmotor.html https://www.oyostepper.de/goods-38-Nema-17-Schrittmotor-Bipolar-18-deg-22Ncm-133A-28V-4-Dr%C3%A4hte-Hybrid-Schrittmotor.html Both Nema17 but the first 1.33A and 22Ncm and the second only 0.4A but almost double the torque. I can see that the resistance is very much higher on the latter but what's the catch? Double the torque to 1/3 the current sounds a little too good to be true so what am I missing?

I tried to update the STEVAL-IP023 board with DFU using  STM32CubeProgrammer, but the STM32CubeProgrammer hang during the procedure, see picture attached.The board is recognized ad DFU device but the procedure does not work.Any suggestion?Thanks

Recently I need a power supply that supports outputting 300VDC, 250VDC, 150VDC and a combined power of 50W, the input could be AC or DC, I tried eDesignSuite but no result matched my need.

Dear all, The STSPIN958 contains all to build a digital controlled (hard switching) full bridge adjustable power supply, including the power mosfets, to my understanding. Or am I missing something important? If set as " Single full-bridge - PWM trimming", given a 200kHz PWM signal on PWM1 and the inverted PWM signal on PWM2/PH. With adjusting Vref, the pulse width and so the output voltage can be adjusted. By adjusting the PWM pulse width, the current limit could be set.  Could I test this with the EVSPIN958 and a Pulse PA3856.007NL forward transformer? The chip is presented as motor driver, a use as PSU is not mentioned. Would be great when somebody could confirm (or tell my why not) it could be used as a PSU as well. Thanks,Michi

A 1mF electrolytic capacitor connected from this pin to GND ensures the stability of the DMOS drive circuit. This pin can be externally loaded up to 5mA. Figure 3 and 4 show the typical behavior of the Vref pin.� I was wondering whether a higher value ceramic capacitor can be used in place of the 1uF electrolytic capacitor on the Vref pin. For example, can we use a 4.7uF, 25V, ceramic, such as  C1608JB1E475K080AC? The app note does not describe whether there are other capacitor options. Thanks! #l6234-an1088

So I just plugged in my Eval kit. I have 12V in the barrel jack and am connected to the usb to my pc. When I switch to the appropriate port, I can use the eval kit GUI to connect and ask for the Firmware version. It responds 1.6 which should be correct. But then the next step is to change ID assignment to 1 and looking at the D13 LED to light up. This does not happen. Even more confusingly, I see the D5 led (TX) light up then the D4 led (RX) light up. shouldnt it be backwards? Finally, It says the Ack light should turn green when I press configure IDs but it stays red. Am I missing a step? is 12 V 1 amp not enough power for this board?

Hi all,I am trying to design a power converter using the A69863V3TR and I am having some issues.I have followed the design section in the datasheet and used the online eDesignSuite to design a 3.3V DC/DC converter.The circuit has now been manufactured.Firstly, when the circuit was turned on, at 24V, it did output 3.3V but with a large output ripple ~40%. The output ripple is due to the capacitor used, but there was another major issue. After I increased the voltage from 24V to 33V, the IC seemed to have set its output to ~0.8V and now when the voltage is lowered, the output remains at ~0.8V. We are using the LD39200PUR as a regulator to step 5V down to 4.3V for a battery based system.The datasheet says the product incorporates reverse current protection to prevent current leaking from the output to the input but it is not functioning in the way I would expect. On the input side we have a USB connection with 5V, on the output side we have either 4.3V regulated or the voltage of the battery (The system switches to battery power when the USB is removed).When I remove the USB however, the voltage at the output pin is available on the input pin and I have been able to draw over 300mA from the input pin without issue. The section from the datasheet reads " Moreover it is used to avoid the reverse current to flow from the output pin to the input one, when other power supplies, providing a voltage higher than the input voltage, are connected to the output pin." In my case I have a power supply (battery) on the output pin, and nothing connected to the input pin so should satis

Hi, I did a PCB based on the ALED6001 and using the eDesign Suite.I want to use analog dimming only and wired it up similar than in the STEVAL-ILL072V1.Best case i wanted to achieve a 0-100% dimming but it was clear that, due to that curve provided in the datasheet that would not the case. That wouldn't be a big problem if I won't face the big instabilities at the two discontinuity points at 260mV and 1.2V. At the lower end the LED flickers and the coil I am using does a humming sound. At the upper end the brightness increases suddenly to full brightness.Does someone have an idea how this could be solved in a MCU-less design?I tried both topologies (boost and buck-boost) by modifying one board. Seems the eDesign solution (buck-boost?) works a bit better. Maybe because of the proper calculated compensation circuit?I attached the schematic. The red lines on the second sheet are my modification from the one topology to the other.Thanks in advanceDavid
