the document said, the correction factor is due to skin effect, but the K formula seems make a mistake (inverted). should it be Rp@fwork/Rp@fres = K = √(fwork/fres) instead, so the value is incorrect too?(as for skin effect, with frequency increase, the R should increase) 

 Hello,I recently purchased the STEVAL-25R3916B board and it functions correctly with the out-of-the-box demo. However, I’ve been unable to get it working with any of the available software tools, such as the ST25R3916 Discovery GUI or ST25-PC.I’ve confirmed that JP14 is correctly configured, the board is set to USB mode, and I’m using the correct USB port as per the documentation. Despite this, the software does not detect the board.From what I’ve seen in the forums, this appears to be a recurring issue, but I haven’t come across any clear or official resolution.Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,Can this chip produce a constant [unmodulated] NFC field without timeout?  I have a lab application where I'd like to output a constant unmodulated signal through attached NFC antenna.  Based on reading the datasheet a direct command can be used to switch the AM modulation between modulated and unmodulated.  However, when looking at the NFC field on command I can't determine whether a timeout is present or not.  I want to make sure that the field can be generated constantly for my application.   Please let me know.Thanks,Spencer

Hi everyone,I’m currently working on integrating the ST25R3916B NFC reader into my custom hardware and would like to avoid implementing the complete driver from scratch in C/C++. Therefore, I’m trying to base my work on the X-CUBE-NFC6 software package provided by ST.Is this the right starting point for using the ST25R3916B as a standalone chip (not on an evaluation board)?I manually downloaded the full package from::backhand_index_pointing_right:https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/x-cube-nfc6.html#get-software— because STM32CubeIDE didn’t seem to import all relevant source files automatically.Now I’m struggling a bit to understand which components or folders I actually need from the package to get the basics working.Also, in CubeMX / CubeIDE I can see the following configuration options (see screenshot).  However, I'm unsure what to select in terms of the “Board Extension” and “Board Part” settings. Hello everyone,I am currently using a custom NFC board based on the X-Nucleo-NFC08A1 that has the ST25R3920B MCU. I am able to perform OOB pairing (LE Secure Connections) using the example provided by ST in the software tools example. I can sucessfuly complete the bluetooth pair using a Samsung A12, however if I use other smartphones like Google Pixel 6, Xiaomi 14T or even Huawei the pairing does not complete.I have tried this with other manufacturers libraries and software and it works for all the smartphones. After inspecting the memory of the tag I found out they use a "Handover Select" record with an "Alternative Carrier" inside. I dont't know if this is why it is not working with other smartphones.Could someone explain this better, and if so, how do I set this additional records?Best regards.

The X-CUBE-NFC3 zip I downloaded (v2.1.0) does not contain the CR95HF driver (Drivers/CR95HF folder missing). Hello ST Community,I've been exploring STEVAL-25R200A dev kit using the X-CUBE-NFC10 package-based sample application. Currently, I am testing the UNTRACEABLE mode feature in the ST25TV tag. However, I’m noticing some unexpected behavior and would love to get help and support.In my case UNTR_CMD = 1b and as per the Table 70 of the specifications, the device (ST25TV tag) should boot in UNTRACEABLE state irrespective of any UNTR_DFT value, and in this state, it should only respond to Get Random Number and Present Password commands. However, in my testing, I’ve found that when UNTR_CMD = 1b and UNTR_DFT = 0, the tag responds to every command which it should not.This makes me wonder if I’ve understood the UNTRACEABLE mode correctly or not. Regards,Tanuj

Hi,I am working on a project, where I want to maximize the speed when using the mailbox with the ST25xV commands.I use a ST25R3916B Reader and a ST25DV04K Tag.The data exchange process in my application looks like this:-(fast)write command-(fast)read dyn config (polling: wait until message owner has changed)-(fast)read responseI measure the time over the whole exchange and when I use the "fast" commands it somehow gets slower. I have read this forum post about the differences of the normal and "fast" commands. There it is mentioned that the fast commands double the response data rate. So I would expect at least a slight increase in speed and not it being slower. Can anybody explain this behaviour?Also: any recommendations on how to further increase speed are highly welcome.Rgds,Jonas

Hello,I am writing interface for ST25R3918 NFC chip for our BSPs using I2C protocol. The datasheet of the chip mentions non-standard I2C command for space-B access that there is no ACK from chip after sending of first byte "FBh".I can see that ST provided driver handles this by special flag "I2C_FIRST_AND_NEXT_FRAME", but how would I handle it for non-STM32 external MCUs as this would generally throw error of NACK? Does that mean that this NFC chip will not work with non-STM32 MCUs using I2C protocol?Thanks

As I understand this is still a relatively new product in the portfolio - as such development kits are not commercially available for it yet. My question is - is the ST25R300 supported by either of the currently available X-CUBE-NFC software expansions, or are there any example codes available akin to the poller examples in case of the ST25R3911B? I'm attempting to use iso15693WriteBlock to write blocks of 4 bytes to a ST25DV04K tag. Everything appears to work and I don't get an error. However, when I read back the memory, the first byte of each block has been set to zero, and bytes 1 through 3 contain bytes 0 through 2 of my data. It's like there's an off-by-one error, but without any documentation or source code for the library I have zero chance of working out where. Any ideas appreciated. Hello,I'm currently working on a PCB prototype which uses the ST25R3911B as a front-end. I'm trying to handle multiple antennas in a time-multiplexed manner so i'm using both RFO pins and feeding them to RF switches (PE42421SCAA-Z, around 0.3-0.5 dB insertion loss) to further increase the number of available antennas.I've used the ST25 antenna matching tool and the eDesignSuite as well to get a close match with a 10x10cm pcb antenna (2 turns,3mm traces, 2mm gap). For the first attempt I've managed to get a generous range of 15cm-s with ST25 nfc type 5 tags - matched to 4 Ohms - albeit with a 1 Ohm ESR 240 nH inductor .Using the measure amplitude command I get around 1.4V as result.My question is - would it be possible to increase this range with perhaps a larger single loop antenna and/or better matching? Should I perhaps modify the capacitive voltage divider on the RFI feedback to max out the 3V range - or it wouldn't matter? Or maybe use a lower ESR inductor? The target tags wou

Hi,we're working with the ST25R3918-AQWT in a design that's powered by a CR2054 coin cell. We're trying to minimize the peak current draw through the NFC coil since right now we're seeing about a 500mV droop on VBAT during our NFC read. We've already configured the output resistance to the highest setting but we're still seeing peak current spikes that are higher than we’d like. Our main concern is an effective reduction in battery life if the voltage droops enough to brown out the ST25R3918 whenever the field turns on. Are there any other settings or hardware design choices we can make to reduce the total energy used during an NFC read? Additional information:Our overall field-on time is 10msec. We believe this is about as fast as we can make an NFC transactionOn our application, the NFC tag is a fixed distance from the ST25R3918. Hello, I'm using STEVAL-SMARTAG2. In the future I want to design my own PCB with  ST25DV64KC and STM32L4P5-CGU6. But for now I want to create my own program and try it on STEVAL-SMARTAG2.If I import example project in CubeIDE and complie it, It works fine.If I want to create my own project and include libraries I get an errors during compiling.So, I did the following:- start new project in CubeIDE and select "STEVAL-SMARTAG2"- set inputs/outputs as default (press OK when pop-up window ask me if i want to keep it)- middleware/software package... download and select FP-SN-SMARTTAG2- define platform settings (picture below)- save and run the compiler and get an errors (picture below)It looks like I miss something?Also in my further project I don't need to use all the sensors on the protoboard. I just want to use NFC-V and powering tag with energy harvesting. Thank you for your time.  

Hi all. I'm coding an app in C# that uses the ST25R3916DISCOComm.dll native methods to access a ST25DV04 tag. I have got many things working, including bing able to read the tag memory passively, and some complex protocols using the Mailbox mode. However, the one thing I can't get working is passive write to tag memory.Below is a debug log of my process.wait for a tag in the field and get its UID. [lines 1..3]Read the entire tag memory using iso15693ReadBlock() in a for loop [lines 5..7]Present the password to unlock user area 1 [lines 9..13]. This appears to work and doesn't return an error.Attempt to write a single block of memory to block 79 (0x004f) with value [x12,x34,x56,x78] [lines 15..19]. This is using the iso15693TxRxNBytes() method.The command packet looks correct to me based on the data sheet and other commands in a similar format in the log, but I'm getting back no received data and a "No Memory" error code.
