Hello everyone !I am writing to you because I cannot increase the transmission distance of my ST25RU3993-HPEV kit. I have bought the ST25ru3993-HPEV kit with two antenna, ...I read that with the External PA I can increase the transmission distance but I can't do it. What is External PA ?It does not work with External PA but in Internal it works but the distance remains limited.I use the antennas from the kit and here are my settings:

We're working on custom data transfer between Android and our custom device with NFC. As Android no longer support peer to peer, we're investigate the best way to do it. ST provides ST25FTM library to do this with the ST25DV-I2C tag, but it is too slow ~25kbps. We want something faster around 115kps.Is there anything library similar to ST25FTM and allows ST25R3916 to perform data transfer? (Either in reader or card emulation mode). If not, which direction we can take to perform data transfer with Android low level API. Thanks

Hello,I have a ST25RU3993 RFID reader, and I started with it. For starting I download and use the Software Development Kit for ST25RU3993 based evaluation boards for testing my reader. However I have a problem. My reader has a firmware that does not match with the SDK. The SDK requires update the firmware. When I process to update the firmware SDK throws an error, that say that the device is not recognize. What could be the problem? Or how could I make my reader be recognized? Thank you and regards

Hello! I'm starting a project with the ST25R3920 and want to use the RFAL library. I downloaded the latest version from from here and during compilation it's asking to define either ST25R3916 _or_ ST25R16B. I guessed and tried st25R3916 (no B) and everything builds properly but it won't detect NFC cards.I have a project using the same chip and the old RFAL library (2.2.0) that works, but after updating to the latest 2.8.0 it seems to have broken things.Is this the correct RFAL library to use with `#define ST25R3916`?Thanks

Hi all,I working with 2 EVB for ST25R3911b: ST25R3911B-DISCOthe ST25R3911B-Disco Board have a 2 loop ~950nH (105 mm x 52 mm) antennaI tried to replace the antenna for a custom antenna ( 80x48.5mm ~940nH ) very similar to the ST25R3911B-Disco Board.The Impedance is 947nH, according to eDesignSuite. According to AN5276 I need a network analyzer (that I don't have) to measure all the parameters of the antenna.I tried to use the NFC Tuning Circuit, but because a don't have the exact parameters of the antenna so I tried to smart guess the rest of the parameters.In result, the circuit just don't work at all, I connected the board to the software "ST25R3911b Discovery GUI" to measure the Antenna, and I got "out of range" message with a vector of 0.07 with 30Deg. (need to be 2.5 with 90Deg)I don't understand how the result is so off.There is a way to simulate the parameters of my antenna?thank you very much

Hi everyone, I developed a NFC antenna with ST25R95-VMD5T device. This antenna is connected to my main board with multipole cables and comunicate via SPI with it.I tested it in laboratory and when I tried conducted emmission, appears this:(neglect the rest....)The schematic of my antenna NFC board is this:and the PCB layout is this:My question is: are there some tricks to decrease within the threshold this peak?Thanks for your help.Paolo A.

Hello,In our project we are trying to interfacing PN7150 NFC reader with STM32L4 controller to read and write to Mailbox of ST25DV04KC dynamic tag.We would like to know the command format, which i should use to discover the ST25DV tag, and write and read to the mailbox of the same. Currently we are unable scan the ST25DV nfc tag as well.

Is FTM only available to use with development kits ? I cannot use FTM with mobile application. Is there any guide ?

Hello, I'm working on a bare metal implementation, reading ISO 14443A UUID and about 8 of the custom bytes. It's working fine. My question is how often should rfalNfcWorker() be called? Should this be called once per 100mSec, once per 1mSec, or just called continually in the main application loop.

Hi all,I'm currently developing an application with an X-UNCLEO-NFC03A1 evaluation board on an STM32L4, in order to write and read some NDEF messages on some ST25A02/16K that i have, protecting them with the 128 bits password.For starter, I'm running the STM32L476RG_NUCLEO_PollingTagDetectNdef example and noticed that all the communication with the tag runs through the rfal_t4t.c module, but it lacks of the functions (available instead on the rfal_st25xV.c module) used in order to set/present the read/write password of the NDEF fields.Am I missing something or it's just a lack of implementation? I'm trying to "fill this void" (should be instruction code 0x20) but i'm really getting lost with all the layers.Thanks in advance

Hello, I ported the porting example to a different processor. The self tests are enabled and initialization passes. However I'm not able to read a tag. Logic captures (Salae) are attached. I've verified that I'm receiving interrupts and processing them. I also tested this hardware with an externally NUCLEO-L476RG board and off the shelf firmware and it could read the tags fine. Tags are very close to the antenna, within 1cm. I noticed that when a 14443 tag is present, the number of interrupts increase, from about 15 per second without a tag, to 20 per second with a tag. But it never outputs the UUID of the tag itself. In the captures I observed that the interrupt gets serviced in about 20uSec.Other than the platform files I tried to duplicate the demo firmware as closely as possible, leaving all the technologies enabled, not using ST25R_COM_SINGLETXRX, etc.Thanks,Derek

Hi,I'm new with RFID technology especially when it comes to designing antennas on boards and calculating matching circuits but... I have successfully designed and manufactured my board with ST25R3918 and I have a few questions.I have a 43x43mm on board antenna with other electronics inside it, I have done 0.5mm spacing between antenna and ground polygon surrounding ST25R, uC and some serial communication ICs. Now I have about 8.5cm range with the 5x5cm tag (ST25TV02KC with ISO15693) from ST25-TAG-BAG-UB but only 3-4cm range with the button tag from that bag. Is there anything that I should do to increase the range? I have thought about two things: Firstly, redesign the "internal" circuitry to increase the spacing between antenna and ground. Secondly, change the RFID reader to ST25R3916B with greater output power (1.6W and ST25R3918 only 0.5W) but I don't know if it is possible to just desolder ST25R3918 and solder ST25R3916B in the same place(Can Auto Tuning circuits be a problem?).Nex

Hello,we designed a PCB with an ST25R2916B which should connected via I2C.As basis for our design we use the schematic for the X-Nucleo-NFC06A1.Our Problem:If we connect the modified (UM2616, Chap. 3.5.1) X-Nucleo-NFC06A1 to a Nucleo32 running the NFC_Polling example, it works quit well.But if we connect our own design to the Nucleo32 no I2C communication comes up.We already study the datasheet in detail, but we can't find any reason that the comparison test fail.Question:Is there a reference design for the ST25R2916B with I2C connectivity which we can follow?Our design is:  Thanks for your help,Sebastian

Hello!   On my board STM32F401 communicates with CR95HF via SPI use X-CUBE-NFC3.   After powering up, initializing the STM32F401 for 2MHZ SPI, run the st25r95Initialize() function.   I've noticed that CR95HF is unresponsive unless the power from a previous successful session was completely reset to 0V.   Through measurements, I noticed that the lower limit of the normal restart voltage of the CR95HF is 0.26V. If the voltage is below this mark (except for the value of 0V), then when restarting CR95HF does not respond to STM32F401 requests.   In datasheet CR95HF, in $ 3.2 a NOTE: "VPS must be 0V before executing the start-up sequence."   Is there any way to start CR95HF communication without first resetting its power to 0V ? Or need anyway to apply additional power reset circuitry for CR95HF ?  

I would like to use the PC tool provided to test the FTM ( fast transfer mode) via 3916.I am trying to get the compatible FW for that. Could not be more complicated.The only FW I found to support it is: STSW-ST25DV003. ( Other FW's have old implementation back to 2015 with SNEP and P2P stuff that are practically irrelevant for today ( ST why do you keep that? ) Its very confusing ) The catch : STSW-ST25DV003 FW has crypto stuff in it ( that I don't need, I only need FTM ) and requires ST approval. My approval has been validating for a month now. (says 48 hours..)Is there another FW that supports both FTM and the PC tool for reader 3916?Could you remove the crypt stuff and just release an FTM fw?Or better, just validate?

In NFC06A1_PollingTagDetect sample project, the function demoTransceiveBlocking blocks forever when in card emulation mode.Using the sample project NFC06A1_PollingTagDetect in X-CUBE-NFC6 Software for STM32 and try the card emulation mode. Sometimes, the demoTransceiveBlocking( ) function does not return, if an android phone (NFC reader) is removed away from the antenna. Basically, the program stays in RFAL_NFC_STATE_DATAEXCHANGE state with err = ERR_BUSY in this scenario.Is this any better way to identify that the phone (NFC reader) is remove away from the NFC06A1? By adding a timeout etc... ? I notice that it gives ERR_LINK_LOSS when the phone gets close to the NFC06A1 again. Can we get this error message right away when the link is loss and the RF field is gone?

Hello, I 'm working on porting the RFAL for a ST25R3916B application. I read through the description of platformProtectST25RComm() but I just wanted to clarify: is this disabling all interrupts on the MCU so that nothing will mess up the SPI communication, or is this disabling the interrupt line coming from the ST25R3916B?

I am evaluating the STEVAL-SMARTAG1 using the ST25R3911B-DISCO reader to program which sensors to use and sample rate. I can read sensor data using the ST Asset Tracking app (iOS) until ~30min has passed. I then get an error in the app saying "SmarTag response: Error" when I try to scan the device to view the data. However, I can still view the data after seeing the error when imported to ST25PC-NFC. The error seems to be independent of sample rate and which sensor I am using. Is this an issue with ST Asset Tracking iOS app? Also, the SMARTAG has been missing data logs from time to time. Is there a work around for that as well?Thanks

Hello, I have an application whereby we have one ST25R3916B connected to 8 different antennas through relays. We need to read each antenna but with about 5-10 seconds between. This should allow enough time to initialize each antenna including AAT. The question is how is the best way to do this with the RFAL? I'm using the Polling Demo as a starting point since that looked like the easiest. Is this the correct order of operations? When using Send Data in Fast Transfer Mode with ST25DV64KC-DISCO and Android App ST25 Tap, communication will stop with an error if the data size is 200000 bytes.Is there a limit on communication size?
