I am trying to test the ST25RU3993_Eval code and .ioc project with the ST25RU3993 Rain Board. I have uploaded the ST25RU3993_eval.bin through the firmware update option under help on the ST25RU3993 Reader Suite, but the board does not recognize it, and gives the error it isn't compatible. Why is this firmware failing, as it was my understanding this was a compatible firmware for the Rain Board? The project builds correctly within the STMCubeIDE, but the bin file produced will not work as firmware through the suite. Is there a way to get a hold of the .ioc files for the only firmware that works for the READER? The only firmware I get to work on the RAIN Reader Suite is ST25RU3993_FW_v3-0-0-0_Eval.bin.Thanks

Hello,I'm currently using STSW-ST25R011 firmware.​At first, I was going to read/write with NFC type 2, but the firmware above is only read implemented, so I added Write.​(The Write implementation was implemented using t2t.c in folder firmware/Middlewares/fw_3916).​Tag was tested with NTAG215.​It's normally read/write, but NFC V is a bit different from other NFC types 2!​​It can be configured as 4 bytes or 8 bytes per block.​​The tag I am currently using is EM|ECO 4425 and 8 bytes per block.​​​Therefore, we thought that t2t.c above was not available, so we looked it up and tried to use iso15693_3.c in the same folder.​Read is already implemented, so I'm trying to implement Write, but I'm curious to ask!​​​1. Is it possible to write 8byte blocks in ST?​2. It will be different for each Tag IC, but can I change the size per block to 4 bytes or 8 bytes directly?​3. Do you have any books or links to study at NFC V?thanks !

I've created my own differential AAT board (3 turn 80x36mm antenna) that is working, but with a range of only 4cm compared to the NFC06A1 range of 8cm using a similar 15693 tag . With my own board powered off, I used my miniVNA to measure the matching network and antenna and see a minimum VSWR 2.365 and matching frequency of 16.52 MHz. When I measure the Nucleo NFC06A1 it yields a VSWR of 3.727 and a matching frequency of 13.3192. When I use QUCs to simulate my board with the same matching components its different (more capacitive on the smith chart). I was hoping the QUCS simulation would be more inline with what I'm seeing with the miniVNA. Which is more trustworthy, QUCS or the miniVNA for tweaking the matching network? I've attached some charts to show the differences. Any suggestions of how to proceed would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi everyone,I can communicate with ic via i2c. I can write/read on user memory section but when i try to write static registers, i faced foolish value. For example, firstly i read MB_MODE register and value is default '0' then i write '1' on this register. Finally i read again for being assure, and i faced 0x20. That is suprising. I also try all static register and i faced foolish value all of them. Would be appriciate any help. Thank you.

How can i use FTM buffer i do not understand what should I do exactly. I have problems first step. I can read all block of system memory , user memory and dynamic registers also i can write on user memory(EEPROM) but when i try to initalize Fast transfer mode , i encountered problem that cannot change static configuration registers like i want. I am waiting your advises.

Hello,i want to design a new antenna layout with the ST253911b chip.It is recommended to match the antenna across RFO1 and RFO2 to a load impedance of 10 Ohm.Do i have to change the register "RFO normal level definition register" adress 27h to 10Ohm?What happens if i set it to 1Ohm?Best regardsPeterSPX

Using a Raspberry Pi, I have been able to successfully connect to and read tags from NUCLEO-NFC05A1, NUCLEO-NFC06A1, and ST25R3916-DISCO. However, I am unable to get ST25R3911B-DISCO to work using the ST25R3911B Linux drivers. For some reason the Raspberry Pi will not boot up when V_RF is connected to 5V. If I disconnect this, the PI will boot up but I will be unable to find the board via SPI (ERR_HW_MISMATCH during !st25r3911CheckChipID( NULL )). This is expected because V_RF is not connected, but it needs to be. I tried supplying external power to V_RF, but that did not solve my problem. I have bought multiple different ST25R3911B-DISCO boards and connected to multiple different Raspberry Pis, with the same issue.Here's how I'm connecting the two boards:Pi 5V -> V_RFPi GRD -> GRDPi 3v3 -> 3v3Pi CE0 -> /SSPi SCLK -> SCLKPi MOSI -> MOSIPi MISO -> MISOPI CE1 -> IRQThis wiring has worked flawlessly with NUCLEO-NFC05A1, NUCLEO-NFC06A1, and ST25R3916-DISCO. Hello allI use ST25DV64K.If the I2C communication is normal, it returns ACK after receiving data, and after receiving the last data, it returns NACK response and issues Stop Condition.If the I2C communication is abnormal, and the master issues a stop condition without returning a NACK response to the NFC tag, will the NFC tag be able to receive the stop condition normally?Also, after the Stop Condition is issued, will the NFC tag be able to accept the next Start Condition normally?Or will it not accept the next input data until the maximum value of TCHCL or TCLCH (25ms) has elapsed?BRMorooka

Hi,We tested the receiving sensitivity of the RFID reader evaluation kit ST25RU3993-HPEV, and the actual measurement is -66dBm, but the sensitivity given in each document is -77dBm.The sensitivity given here(-77dBm) is the sensitivity of the ST25RU3993 chip or the reader evaluation kit?Thanks in advance.

I would like to start setting area protection passwords on some of these chips. I have a FEIG RFID reader which I can do this through using the ST25PC-NFC Windows Application, but the reader won't fit into the space I need to reach the chip during normal functionality (signal isn't strong enough), and the Windows App doesn't have a command line interface I could find, so running this whole process from a single automated application doesn't seem feasible. I have an NFC devkit I could hack the firmware on and build an extended antennae to accomplish this, though it would be extremely time consuming to read the firmware and understand it well enough to step into the middle of its normal functionality and insert my own password write command, since that's a custom command on the ST25DV chipset. Just wondering if anybody has any other recommendations they've run across to accomplish this password programming? Is there a command line interface into the Windows App that I missed? Thank you!

Hi,I don't really understand the datasheet of the ST25R3916 IC chip.At page 53, they show an exemple of a direct write command. As I understand, we need to send 1-1-C5-C4-C3-C2-C1-C0. When I check table 13 to see the command code that go for bits C5..C0, the hexa is something like C1 = 11000001. There is 8 bits on the command code and on page 53 they only send 6 bits. I am confused...Same thing to read a register for example. We need to send 0-1- the register address. There is no register that are 6 bits long, so how can I write my SPI package?Sorry if it is not clear, english is not my first language and I am still learning SPI communication, so it may seems easy, but I still don't get it :(Thanks for any clarification.Antoine

Hi,According to the datasheet, the differential impedance between TX1 and TX2 is 27Ohm for 3.3V and 16Ohm for 5V. For the version without EMI filter the matching criteria should: input impedance of the maching circuit is eqault to ST25R95 differential impedance. But in the spreasheet "ST25R95 EMI FILTER CALCULATION" the default value of the RIN cell the is 50Ohm.What impedance should I tune the antenna to? If I use the VNA to measure the matching circuit with the antenna should I get 27Ohm or 50Ohm?

STM32L476VG is the MCU we are interfacing with ST25R3911B using SPI.what we have understood from some search is that we need RFAL (abstraction layer) to interface with RF HAL.Then once we integrate RFAL and RF HAL in our system workbench(ac6) project we need to build the integration then use SPI calls to read the register from RFID reader ST25R3911Bwe wanted to use ISO-14443A standard to be configured and read the values.where do we get the basic RFAL work space or code flow so that we shall use in our current project?Kindly guide us and let us know are we in right path?

Hi,I have ported RFAL library to ESP32 platform and have set up proper interrupts for it to function in capacitive wakeup mode.So the issue:We are using RFAL-HL ( higher layer ) in our project ( based on X-Cube-NFC5, but using the latest version of RFAL ) and while using it to detect NFC-A cards, tech detection is done successfully, upon moving to NFC-A collision resolution ( rfalNfcaPollerGetFullCollisionResolutionStatus ), the library always returns TIMEOUT_ERR ( 4 ) no matter how I place the tag against the antenna.The issue is described in this pic ( I've added debug commands to interpret it easily :( Any kind of help will be appreciated. In the evalAPIcommands.c file have the function "reflectedPowerTooHigh()" in the line 907. The goal of that function is to calculate the value of the reflected power and the deviation variable received this value, but don't have a comment in code say what is the unit calculated that variable, Would I like to know what is the unit of that variable percentage or dBm?

I would like to get the time stamp of read and read per second of one tag. Which is the best way to implement the same using SDK? I would like to get the timestamp of each read as in ST25RU3993 Reader Suite.

Hello,I am a newbie to the field of RF communication. I am planning to design an antenna using the ST25TV IC. Ultimately, I want to measure the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) value of the RF communication. I am thinking of using the ST NFC Sensor app on either Android/iOS as an NFC reader for this purpose. I noticed that in the app description, they do mention that the data the app collects can be exported as a .csv file. Does the exported data contain the RSSI values in either Android or iOS versions of the app?
