ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

I Use STM32CubeExpansion_NFC6_V1.1.0 for emulate card with NUCLEO-L053R8 and X-NUCLEO-NFC06A1.I Try NDEF URI card emulation with sucess.I don't find a example code for NDEF Text emulation card. Does anyone have a example code for NDEF Text Emulation card ?Best Regards.Mickaël

Is it possible to receive a GPO pulse when an NDEF message is being read by an NFC reader, such as a smartphone? I thought it was possible by configuring the GPO field to RF busy (0x6X) and connecting the GPO port to a GPIO port of my MCU. However, the GPO does not change its output when the NFC reader is reading the tag. Am I right? If so, what may I doing wrong?Thanks for the help!

I developed a board with the same carrier cancelation circuit as the ST25-EVAL board, but I'm having some different measures regarding the reception power. I would like to know if it is correct or if something is wrong.EVAL measurements :Ptx = 28.95dbmPrx = -8.671dbmMeasurements of my board:Ptx = 29.34dbmPrx = 5.23dbmI really don't know about there value are correct.Please, help me and Thanks!

Hi,I have an ST25R3911B-DISCO and have discovered that UART and I2C are not supported on the loaded firmware through searching Google on how to use the interfaces.I am wondering if there have been any updates in the last two years on this subject.If there have not been any updates, what is the best way in implementing UART or I2C in conjunction with my external board, the NUCLEO-L552ZE-Q?As a side note: I am aware there are Nucleo boards that have the ST25R3911B and I2C or that the ST25R3916 has I2C. I have the disco board and am planning on using this with my external processor in any way I can without modifying the board.

I'm using a X-NUCLEO-NFC05A1 (on a Nordic nrf5340 dev kit board), and want to enable/test Capactive Wakeup. Before enabling, I'm trying to perform direct command 0xDD Calibrate Capacitive Sensor. According to the data sheet, this should be performed while in Power Off mode, and the an interrupt will be generated on termination.I never see any interrupt generated, I'm expecting to see an IRQ due to termination of direct command. How long should calibration take? I've waited for up to 10s, still no interrupt.Any suggestions on things to look at/try to get this working?Normal power on mode NFC reading of Type 2 tags works fine.

I'm trying to read the information from another RFID card, the idea is to send a request for it and receive the answer 00010203040506070809, the card that is sending this info is SIC4310-full using the ISO14443 protocol.I tried to use the function "mifareUlReadNBytes (uint8_t startAddr, uint8_t * readbuf, uint8_t length, uint8_t * actLength)" but the "readbuf" only returns me 0.I am sure that the other card (SIC4310-full) is working because through a mobile app I can verify its operation.I would like to know if I am using the correct RFAL lib function and how I can send this request to receive the information I want.Gabriel.

Hi I have been using the kit for some time now and recently whenever I used this kit the reader suite didn't detect the eval board.Please tell me what could be the possible reasons.I have performed these particular tests all the voltages to the ICs are proper 3.3 & 3.6V are also proper ground is proper After downloading the firmware the LEDs on the board are glowing as they should but the board isn't being detected by the suite.This is the error shown afterwords. 

What kind of RFID antenna do I need to use the STRU3993 in an application and to which pins do I connect the antenna to in order to operate the device, thank you so much

I have custom NFC reader board with ST25R3916. The antenna has been geber copied from X-Nucleo-NFC06A1 board and the matching circuit is modified from X-Nucleo board. The varicap values have been merged with fixed capacitors. The MCU is STM32L476 and the FW is slightly modified from en.X-CUBE-NFC6. I have commented out (hopefully) all AAT and antenna tuning related lines on analogConfigTbl_NFC6A1.cWhen I measure the X-Nucleo board, TX signal is on about 70ms. On the custom board the on time is 1.2sWhat could cause the longer TX on time on the custom board?Best Regards,Stinde

We're using a ST25R3916 on several projects, one of which is space constrained for the antenna. The circuit for the given antenna has been tuned up and electrically, is as good as it gets for the size.I was wondering what register settings a person can play with to maximize read range of smallish NFC-V tags for any given antenna configuration?

HiI met a problem with generating a single interrupt after an NDEF message is written to the tag.I have managed to change the GPO register to 0b11000000, which means the interrupt should only happen when a successful RF-write is performed.However, the interrupt is generated as long as I put my phone near the tag, which based on my understanding should correspond to FIELD_CHANGE_EN=1. But I have checked the GPO register and FIELD_CHANGE_EN=0. I have also checked the interrupt signal with a logic analyzer. During NDEF message writing, there are multiple pulses generated by the chip.I don't know what is wrong, any suggestions?I have attached the main.c file in the post.Thank you guys in advance.Yuechuan

Hi,I'm using CR95HF transceiver board for FTM communication with ST25DV64K tag. I've set up python script with ctypes module to use CR95HF.dll.Everything works fine until I try to write and read longer messages in mailbox. For some strange reason, if i write msg of 105 bytes of data, mailbox length returns correct message length, but if I try to read the same data i get only 126 characters (63 bytes).I've checked, by reading mailbox in parts, that first 126 characters are valid, but rest of it contains random characters.I'm working with CR95HF.dll rev. 1.2 and MCU FW 3.7.1, so according to datasheets it should easily cover messages up to 256 bytes of data.Do You have any idea what can be a root cause here?I've already tried:using SendRecv (0x04) and STCmd (0x01) commandschanging modulation in protocol settingsrunning commands in "extended messages" mode (0x02A8)changing buffer size in ctypes's create_string_bufferchanging WriteMessage (0xAA) to FastWriteMessage(0xCA) - got errors on fr

We are using the CR95HF chip for NFC functionality in our product. I know ST_R0 pin have restricted use and shall be connected to ground with a 1nF cap. I would like to know if is possible to connect a test point to this net and in our production test fixture measure the voltage level to verify the antenna tuning. When the board is under test the signal will be routed way in the fixture to a multi I/0 DAQ board.Best regardsMagnus

Hi,I am working on a project with a STM32 + ST25DV NFC tag + mobile app, I developed a bootloader that receives the new binary through FTM and it works well with the app we are developing (using the transceive API from Android), but we are having trouble making it work on IOS, the person that was developing the app does not have any experience with swift and the app is being developed in Flutter, using a plugin to translate the actions to native API (like the transceive), it is partially working but with some annoying limitations:The IOS NFC window is always on the front while the NFC transaction happens, not allowing to display any progress barThe IOS NFC section seems to have a timeout of around 30s, after that the sending process is interrupted, this is our major bottleneckI saw in the IOS version of the ST25 app that it allows the fw update demo, but I don't have the NFC demo kit now (we used only NFC04 and nucleo64 boards for development), I also searched online for a video showin

I have developed an embedded Linux board (microprocessor ARM Cortex-A5 core) which is connected through SPI port to a NUCLEO-NFC05A1. I want to detect tags and then transmit the interrupt event (aka the tag present) to the main board, on which the rfal lib (v.1.3.0) is running. Actually, everything works fine and tags are detected most of the times. Anyway, sometimes (I don't know why, it does not seem to be related to anything else), the nfc-poller demo stucks and drags all the board resources together (the maximum priority thread does not allow to make any other operation). I've tried to run the nfc-poller demo alone and it stucks itself (randomly) even if it is left to run without tags to be detected. To resume, nfc-poller demo works, but it has this bad feature of blocking itself and also blocking the main board. Adding watchdogs seem to be not so effective, because it is nearly impossible to know and detect where the software is stuck. Thank you

Hello,I am trying to optimize the current consumption in tag detection mode for my battery reader (based on ST25R95).I have followed the application note for keeping current at minimum with tag detection as suggestred below:https://community.st.com/s/question/0D53W00000BsxIdSAJ/approach-for-low-power-design1)In the AN (section 2.4 "Using LFO frequency settings to reduce power consumption") says the the LFO at 4kHz will reduce energy, but I have tested and energy is not reduced.As far as I know the LFO clk is the same for different frequencies, the change is for the presecaler. My question: ¿Does a lower LFO freqquency really save energy?2)I know the tuning for the antenna is very important for reaching good performances at reading level, but I would like to know how a good tuning impact on the current consumption.3)Other option I am assessing is to decrease the OSC and DAC start time (recommended to be 3 ms). How risky is to decrease this time under 3ms?----FYI:I am currently using RF
