STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

I am recently trying to interface EM18 reader module with STM 32 with PA10 (RX) pin with UART1 for communication it seems to not working I am also trying to print it to serial monitor.see attach rar file for code. I am beginner so can any one help.

Hello community,I can't debug my program on my STM32L1 Disco because of the attached message.This in itself is not the problem, the problem is that I can't auto-update because it doesn't know what firmware is installed on the board itself!What can I do or what am I doing wrong?I am using the latest CubeIDE (1.16.1). Thanks in advance, you are my last hope. Best regards.Johannes

Hello ST Community,I have a question regarding the compatibility of the STLINK-V3MODS SWD pins with my MCU's SWD pins, which operate at 3.3V. Do I need to use logic level shifters between them, or are the STLINK-V3MODS SWD data signals fully compatible with 3.3V logic levels? Additionally, can I connect them without using logic shifters, and if so, would that be safe for stable operation?Thank you for your assistance!

Hello Everyone :)I have designed a custom board using STM32H573VIT3Q MCU. when I connected it with st link, the st link didn't recognize it.After I checked the voltages on the power pins, I saw all the power pins were normal except the VCAP pin (not outputing voltage at all..about 50mV).The Vcap capacitors P.N is (Digikey) : 490-GRM155Z71A225KE01DCT-ND Attached schematic for more information.Please your help.(Note, FB1506 is a mistake, and is not assembled).  Thanks alot !

Hello,is there a possibility to turn on the OUT pin of the STLINK-V3PWR via openocd?I am currently using VSCode with opencd and gdb-multiarch for debugging. And I don't want to start STM32CubeMonitor-Power in the background all the time, to supply my board with 3,3 V.Thank you very much.BRDominik

I used NUCLEO-F103RB (MB1136 Rev C) and X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 to run the example program in X-CUBE-NFC3. Hi,I am working with the stm32h757 EVAL board, and I am trying to send some data to the PC using USART via STLINK VCP however I am not receiving anything on the PC side.In the board user manual and schematics, it says that USART1 is connected to the ST-LINK V3 controller using pins PB14 and PB15 I have configured the USART1 and used pin PB14 which is the TX PIN and I have checked the pin on the oscilloscope and I can see the data being sent also I have checked the data on the jumper that connects to the STlink and it is sent. Yet I am not receiving anything on the PC.Is there something wrong with the board?  is there some sort of configuration that needs to be done for the STlink to send data on VCP?    

Hi all,I am designing a PCB around the STM32H723 and wants to implement 4 bit SD card communication. As shown in the picture it can be done using 3.3V, with lower speeds, and avoiding these fine-pitch level translators. However does anybody have experience with this towards the STM32H7? 12.5 MB/s is to slow for my application, but 25MB/s should be enough.If there are any sources etc. I would appreciate it!Best regards, EDIT:The STM32H723 also had an internal LDO. Can this one be configured to the SD pins to get 1.8V? Or are external 1.8V level translators needed to achieve SDR25 or SDR50 ... compliant system? 

Hello,Target is power from another source. STlink from USB of laptopI was wondering if the power ON/OFF of STLINK and the target sequencing will damage either the devices? I had one STLINK v2 seems to be damaged while debugging and later it is not able to detect the target, but programmer detects the stlink serial number .. With another STlink I am able to detect the target.

Hi team, I am doing experiment with NUCLEO-F439ZI board. after some time the LD4 "LED" was not glow. after I unplug the USB cable and reconnect the windows shows the flowing  error"Power surge on the USB port – Unknown USB Device needs more power than the port can supply. A USB device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its hub port. You should disconnect the device."The device also not shown in the device manager, none of the LED was not glow. I don't the what is the error happened in the board. Hai all,I am using SDIO protocol for interfacing SD card with STM42F446RE.But While accessing the SD card, I am facing the following issues.1. Unable to access the card, even the card size , free space etc2. Also unable to open directory, and files. Here I am using SDIO 4bit bus mode. FATFS enabled with minimum sector size 512 and maximum 4096.I tried with external pull up resistors of 10k in each data lines(D0 to D3) and CMD lines.Bit still I am unable to connect with SD card,Please help me

I use STM32F4 Discovery, and when using I2C1 for communication, I encounter a situation where the chip becomes unresponsive while using UART and during operation with I2C1. When I use other I2C interfaces, it works normally. I want to understand what is causing I2C1 to make the chip unresponsive.When I use other I2C interfaces, the response is only within 100ms, but when using this I2C interface, the response takes several secondsthanks you

Hi,I got a strange behavior during debugging my bare metal application on STM32F745ZGTx. The emulator is ST-Link V2, with "B 2018 02" printed on the back. The Hard Fault exception (unaligned memory access) is triggered randomly. I mean, the PC causing problem is not at the same place, but randomly. The trouble-shooting steps I have taken:Originally I suspect it is related to the power supply or PLL clock. So I enabled the Brown-out reset and switched to internal HSI. But the problem is still there. Then I suspect the IDE. I tried both Keil and IAR. The problem is seen on both IDEs.I upgraded my ST-link firmware. The issue is still there.Removing SWO connection, but keep the source intact, and keep the SWDIO/SWCLK. This time, the problem is gone.So it seems the SWO connection is causing the problem. But I am sure the connection is fine, as I can saw the printf content when SWO is connected.Do you have any idea about the problem? Please see the attached pictures for the crash, and the at

I have a windows 11 laptop with both ST-LINK Utility and STM32CubeProgrammer installed.  I can connect to my STM32-based motherboard using a ST-LINK clone and ST-LINK but not with STM32CubeProgrammer.  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Hi,I have a custom board with a STM32L4 powered at 1.8V. I program it without problems with a STLINK-V3MINIE.Now I want to program it with the stlinkV2 of the NUCLEO -L4R5ZI-P (I have cut it, removed CN4 and connected pins 1,2,3,4 and 5 to CN5):I can connect and read the memory, but if I try to program, the flash is erased, but not written and the IDE shows this error:What could be the problem?Thank you very much! 

If you're still not seeing any "ITM printf()" output in the SWV ITM Data Console and you've checked the following;the SWO signal is connected to the ST Linkprovided a _write() function that calls ITM_SendChar()ticked Enable Port 0 in Seral Wire Viewer settingsticked the Serial Wire Viewer Enable box in the Debug configuration set the Core Clock (MHz) frequency to the system core frequency in the Debug configuration Then I can suggest one more thing to check, this had me stuck for a while until I found out why. The ITM/SWV Unit is not clocked directly from the System Clock, its actually clocked from the PLL1R output. If you scroll down on the CubeMX Clock Configuration page, you'll find the TRACE Clock Mux, its set to PLL1R as the source. Go back up to the PLL1 block and see what the DIVR1 output clock frequency is - this is the Trace/SWV clock frequency you need to use.  In my design, I had changed the PLL1R divider as I needed an different frequ

The customer wants a really low cost and therefore I cannot go to use microcontroller with 100 pins, but I have to use a really cheap micro that gives me the opportunity to read a .mp3 file from SD. I ask for your willingness to help me!

What is the highest value series resistor which can be put into the ICSP Vapp pin a design?It being connected to VDD and presenting a risk of harm if connected wrongly. I can spend time testing this but would prefer to know if this has a definite value.
