STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

Hello All, My application is quite simple. All I need is a simple LCD touch screen application that can render text and a couple colored squares that has UART comms. When looking at mbed examples for the H747I I found the following from 2019:https://os.mbed.com/teams/ST/code/DISCO_H747I_LCD_demo/I was able to get this to build and launch using VS Code (platformio). However the graphics shows a bunch of random pixels instead of the demos. One of the demos dims the screen and brightens it and that DOES work, but all the rendering seems to be wrong.Ideally I would like to try avoid going STM32 IDE and stick to the simple mbed environment if possible.I did confirm my hardware is working by loading on the binary files and seeing the super impressive graphics demos which is way overkill for my needs.Any suggestions?Thanks!

Hi,I'm attempting to debug the example code (LedToggling) generated from CubeMX, but it's showing an error as described in the image below. The board was working fine before, but suddenly, I'm encountering this issue.      Although I can connect through the built-in ST link to CubeProgrammer and perform a full chip erase, the problem only arises during debugging.How can I fix this ?Thank You

I am struggling to get ethernet to work on my custom PCB H723. I have succeeded develop an ethernet LWIP application on H723 NUCLEO board though. I have more or less copied the schematic of the NUCLEO board, however when running the LWIP_init function it ends in the while(1) error handler loop. I am also using the LAN8742 IC with RMII, 25MHz external osci. When i power my board the LED2 is always lighting up. When I connect a ethernet cable LED1 will light and blink for activity. Anyone have experienced similar? Or have any thoughts or go-to's? I am out of ideas.   Friendly regards, David   

I want to connect a B-OMV-Cam module to a nucleo board H7A3ZI-Q. When I did my research I found that the only board commonly used with the cam module is the DISCO discovery board. Is the cam module meant for specific bards and if not, how can I connect it to a nucleo board ? I tested neural networks for computer vision in the MX Cube AI ide and got the H7A3ZI-Q as a suggestion.  Thank you for your responses !

I am designing a self-powered device with an STM32G473 and a USB-C connector, and want to be certain about the connections.I have made PCBs with USB-C connectors before, but this is the first time that I have neither a VDDUSB, nor a VBUS Sense input. As I understand it, this microcontroller uses the USB-C CC signals instead of the non-existing VBUS Sense input, and two 5k1 pull-down resistors (for CC1 and CC2 in the connector). My understanding is that I should connect CC1 and CC2 directly to the microcontroller's UCPD1_CC1 (PB6) and UCPD1_CC2 (PB4) pins, and that the microcontroller has built-in pull-up and pull-down resistors for the CC ports.Can anyone confirm this?I don't think that I need to use the UCPD1_FRSTX (PA2) signal in this case, as there is no power delivery. However, I find this part quite confusing when reading the STM32G473 datasheet and reference manual together with application note 5225.Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hello people.I just worked on a audio processing project with am STM32F407 discovery board. And everything went fine.But now I'm looking to work with a board that allows to connect a usb webcam and stream it to 2 monitors through HDMI (I assume this might work better with an MPU rather than an MCU. Since I need the best processing possible on this project.)The thing is, I have no idea how to pick the right board for this... I don't want to order a bunch of boards and test one by one. I will rather ask to the community for suggestions.I'd like to mention I'll need the board to have OTG usb, to use it as a host for storing screenshots.Thanks.

I have a question regarding how to automatically point to a specific device in a JTAG daisy chain.My HW configuration is as follows. Let’s say four types of cards, each one with a single microcontroller.I am always going to have a single board for each type in my setup. Debugger/programmer: Segger J-LinkuC: STM32H7My problem is, I need to have a fixed configuration in my STM32 Cube Ide Debug configuration so I can point to the type of board I want to program/debug.This would be an easy one if all the boards are always present and powered. But let’s consider the following cases: CASE 1: I need to debug Device type C but Device type B is not present.    Although my HW has ways to bypass the device and keep the loop alive, I’d need to recalculate the tap number and IDpre of Device C. CASE 2: I need to reach Device B for debugging/programming, but I replaced it with another different board. I have searched every little PDF regarding my board (NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q) and i have no clue where you can find this number. Can anyone help me? Can someone point me at an example for the Nucleo-u575 board, that shows me how I can write files a USB flash drive connected to the USB-C connector (via and adapter).If this is possible? 

I'm new to STM and I'm trying to use USART to communicate between MCU board and my computer. I'm now using USART2 and CP2102 to translate TTL to USB. And have succeeded. But my goal is to directly use USB-C of STLINK to output serial data, because the user manual of this board just like below shows that the USART3 can directly output to USB-C of STLINK.  But I failed to use only USB to communicate and I don't no why. 

My STM32 Nucleo F446RE is not being detected on my laptop - neither in my device manager (its not under Ports nor the Universal Serial Bus Controllers dropdowns), nor is it being detected in the Cube IDE. A couple of things I have noticed:- The power led, LD3, is on when its connected to my laptop, and is red.- The COM led, LD1, doesn't turn on- The underside of my board gets hot, even if it's just connected to my laptop, with no other peripherals or devices connected or wired to my STM32 board.- Note, this isn't my first time flashing code with this specific board. I bought it a month ago and during this month it was working fine, but I was working on a project connected to a motor driver and a power supply, and when I tried to flash the code from the Cube IDE on my board while working on this project, it said "No ST-Link detected! Dear community, I have been fighting against the Bootloader for a time now. I manage to initiate it, using GET commands and the read unprotect command. But when it comes to reading or writing, I just get a timeout, no NACK or anything. I don't know what is wrong with my code, and I cannot find an example of working c code. I have made a custom pcb for the STM32L451CCU6TR using the UFQFPN48 (7x7) package.This circuit is placed on a 2 layered pcb. For debug purposes i have only soldered on the MCU, the decoupeling capacitors, 10Kohm to ground on the BOOT0 pin and a 20 pin header for interface with the ST-LINK/V2 ISOL.I power the pcb externally with a bench power supply set to 3v and limit the current to ~200mAWhile measuring the NRST pin with a DMM I found that its about 2.71V and the VDD and VDDA pins are 3.01V so i added an 10Kohm pullup resistor to the 3.3V powerplane and the NRST pin. without this i can't even read the chip with STMCubeProgrammer. With the pullup resistor i can read the chip with STMCubeProgrammer. However when browsing trough the tabs(not changing any parameters) the connection fails suddenly and the VDD shorts to ground. Even when increasing the bench supply to 500mA the voltage drops to 0.After removing the power the mcu stays shortedWhen I replace the MCU the circuit work

Hi,I was trying to disable Tzen in my nucleo-l55ze-q (stm32l55), but before disabling i forgot to flash toggle gpio programmer into board, and tried to set RDP to 55 and i clicked apply,From that moment it is not able to detect the STlink!..please give me any suggestions .Thanks and regardsTeju S H

I would like to replace the actual display available in STM32F469-DISCO with another LCD MIPI 4 Lanes (datasheet attached). Do you think that its possible to create a "wire solution" to add this new display or its require a major modification to the board? Best Regards,

Hello, I want to evaluate a solution using a SMT32 MCU with a TFT display (MIPI-DSI) and a camera input via DCMI.With these requirements I've restricted the MCU list to these 6 families:F469/F479F769/F779L4R9/L4S9U599/U5A9U5F9/U5G9if I am correct.The issue I am facing is that I have not found a Nucleo or Discovery board that carries those MCU and the relevant MIPI-DSI + DCMI connectors/headers or just bare GPIO pins.The only ones I have found are discovery boards, much more expensive, like the STM32L4R9I-EIAC Discovery board which prices 300 $. I would also accept, at this stage, a board with an already installed LCD display, as there are many Discovery boards, but the all lack (unless I misread the specs) the DCMI pins exposed.Am I missing something obvious in the ST.COM dev kits specs or list?Or does anybody know of some breakout boards that just expose the GPIO pins, and maybe a power connector (just like this one for example, it exposes all the GPIO pins of a Raspberry compute
