Hello,I'm trying to figure out the max. reliable clock frequency for NOR flash connected via SPI or QSPI interface.I've read here or here  that there are custom board and evaluation board designs which are reading data at single transfer rate up to 120MHz.I wonder how this is possible regarding the timing parameters in the data sheet.For example, the MICRON MT25QL flash, which is equipped on some ST evaluation boards e.g. STM32H750_DK and STM32H753_EVAL, puts data at falling clock to IO after 5-6ns as shown here (tCLQV).In SPI or QSPI SDR mode the H75x latches data at rising edge which must be valid at least 2ns. Same for QSPI SDRTiming parameters seem to use the middle of the clock edge for reference. At higher frequency the rise and fall time of clock and IO lines must therefore be added to the timing calculation.I checked the clock and IO signals on various boards at different GPIO and flash drive strength and series resistors and measured min. 2ns rise/fall

I see STM32F413VHT6 is a1.5Mb device from the ordering information and the memory mapping in the datasheet. I follow the same procedure I followed to program the range 800 0000 to 810 0000 for the rest of the 0.5 Mb (810 0000 to 817 FFFF) also , but i see the device is not getting programmed. Is there any other way to program this region (810 0000 to 817 FFFF) . Does this follow any other procedure , please help with this.

Hello, I've been using the Nucleo-U385RG-Q for my project and all features work fine, but when I switch the code to a STM32U385VGT6Q, there is a problem when attempting to write to FLASH. My Write function starts with: if (HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&flashErase, &error) != HAL_OK) { break; } and it precisely crashes at: FLASH_WaitForLastOperation in error = ((*reg_sr) & FLASH_FLAG_SR_ERRORS); with error code 128 (0x80). Searching for the error leads me to believe that the CPU is attempting to write protected/secure state areas but the Option Bytes says otherwise.I use Nima-LTD-I-CUBE-EE library.

Hi everyone,We’re currently developing an OBD reader using an STM32G473, which includes three FDCAN controllers. Each FDCAN interface is connected to a TCAN3413 transceiver.As part of our testing setup, we built an ECU simulator using an Arduino with an MCP2515 controller and a TJA1050 transceiver, and this simulator works perfectly.However, we’re facing a major issue when trying to send CAN requests from our STM32-based board to this ECU simulator. We’re not able to make the FDCAN controller operate in Classical CAN 2.0 mode and send messages correctly.We verified this by checking both the RX and CAN lines of the transceiver with an oscilloscope. The TX signal from the STM32 does not show the expected data pattern.That said, the transceiver itself is working correctly, when we send data from the Arduino node, the RX pin on the transceiver shows a clean, valid CAN signal. Hi everyone, I'm a student who was assigned to make an ESP32 NodeMCU WiFi CP2102communicate with the magnificent STM32h755zqi board via usart, simply I wanted to start by writing a simplesentence on the terminal (I know how to use putty) to actually realize that I'm using it correctly usartcommunication.also reading on the forum and from the schematics, usart3 is recommended to do these things asyou can use virtual COM.I attach my file directly, there is certainly something wrong since I am a beginner, for nowon putty it prints indecipherable Chinese characters, I state that I am reading at the same baud rateand all the various configurations that I have entered.During the course I was told to use the M4 core but I was told to write a part of code on M7 to startonly the M4 (in the boot sequence) but I don't know what that meant at all so I wrote the code directly on M7,if anyone can help me in this aspect too, I'd appreciate it.PS: I also accept any other link that I can view for a tut

Hello, during my tests I have come across a strange issue. During the initializing phase, my application was hitting a WWDG reset (after ~400ms) constantly. This only happened after a couple resets (toggling the NRST pin LOW).  I have concluded during debugging, that when this repeated resetting of the WWDG state occured, it is because the program is hanging on the autogenerated (via STM32CubeIDE) init function:   HAL_UART_Init(&huart2)   Looking further, it actually finishes most of the function code but hangs on the last function:   return (UART_CheckIdleState(huart));   It specifically hangs when doing the below check:   if (UART_WaitOnFlagUntilTimeout(huart, USART_ISR_TEACK, RESET, tickstart, HAL_UART_TIMEOUT_VALUE) != HAL_OK)   What baffles me, is how this is not repeatable behaviour. Most of the times I restart the MCU, it proceeds as intentioned. But sometimes it starts doing this infinite game of checking TEACK so long that WWDG resets it.

Hi all, apologies if I am missing where this has been explained.  It seems a relatively common question, but I have not found a definitive answer.A legalistic reading of the datasheet says that there is no difference whether the pin is configured as digital I/O or analog input; FT_a still allows 5V (assuming the usual case of min(supplies) = 3.3V).On the other hand, various commenters here and elsewhere (but not ST employees) have insisted that when a pin is configured as analog input, the 5V tolerance no longer applies; i.e. no difference between TT_a and FT_a as far as input voltage tolerance is concerned.  See e.g. this thread:https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/maximum-allowed-voltage-on-stm32h755xih3-adc-pin/td-p/669693The problem is that this assertion seems to have no support in the actual datasheet.  Or if it does, I haven't been able to find it.  (I would appreciate someone quoting me "chapter and verse" in that case!)Would someone please clear

Hi all,I'm using an STM32U5G7VJT6Q on a custom design PCB. From the application, I jump to the USART (UART1) system bootloader. I then try to connect to the bootloader via STM32CubeProgrammerCLI. The jump to the bootloader appears to be correct and the bootloader is starting ( connect and properly read chipID) . Unfortunately, communication with the bootloader shows some errors. Hi guys, im making system wchis is sampling data from 2 microphone channels.I need to make it pass at least 8 kHz/8 bit/2ch data which i already did. Hello, I'm trying to transfer a 4000 uint16_t buffer from SRAM4 to DTCM. This is working with a basic configuration of the MDMA module :  - Buf size = 32 - Block len = 4000 - No burst mode - in/out size = half word. The MDMA needs 135µs to transfer the whole buffer, and it looks quite slow. I'm questioning about the different way to improve the tranfer, using burst mode and/or packed mode. I have a custom board with an STM32U535RET6. This chip receives data from another processor using UART4 on pins PA0 and PA1. Once the data is received, it should be sent to another chip using USART3 on pins PC4 and PC5.If I transmit a fixed string directly, it works correctly. However, if I try to transmit the data received from UART4 (which is a message of about 70 bytes ending with "X"), it does not work.Additionally, HAL_UART_RxCpltCallback seems to freeze. I added a log inside the callback and I can see it print, but after a few executions, it stops running and no more bytes are received.I hope someone can help me, I can send more files if needed

Hello everyone,I'm facing a weird issue about Flash programming on a STM32g0b1 microcontroller on IAR Workbench for ARM. ContextI'm working on a bootloader project. I am able to lock, unlock, erase and program flash at the beginning of my program. Following a state machine, this is working well.  IssueWhen it comes to save a new bunch of data for the second time (I always program by block of 256 bytes so 32 double-words which is required by the library), it triggers a HardFault exception Remark 1If I go step by step in debug mode, I can program double-word by double-word without any exception. But if I run the program without going step by step (going over the function or without triggering any breakpoint), I automatically trigger the exception. Hello,I am working with an STM32U585I-IOT02A development board and using STM32CubeProgrammer.I changed the RDP level to DC and set a password. After that, I am unable to get back to RDP level AA.I tried entering the correct password, but the unlock option does not disable the protection.I also attempted the "unlock RDP1 level" process, but it does not seem to work.Currently, I am unable to flash any code onto the device.Is there any way to recover the board back to RDP AA level and make it programmable again?What is the correct procedure to unlock the RDP DC level after a password has been set?Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,I’m currently working with the STM32H533RET6 and I’m wondering whether an external crystal oscillator is required (or at least recommended) for reliable communication over RS485 and CAN.From my understanding, even at the highest baud rates, the internal clock (HSI) should be accurate enough for both interfaces, since the STM32’s internal oscillator is fairly precise and stable.So my questions are:Is the internal clock sufficient for high-speed RS485 and CAN communication?Under what conditions would it be better or necessary to use an external crystal (HSE)?Thanks in advance for any insights or practical experience!

Hi,I’ve been struggling to get an image from an image sensor using DCMI via GPDMA on an STM32U595.The sensor outputs a 1280x800 image in 12-bit RGGB Bayer format, which I’ve configured correctly. That gives 12 bits per pixel, and I want to capture the full frame at that resolution.DCIMI interface :DCMI_PIXCLK is 64MHz.12 bit data (D0-11) and DCMI_HSYNC and DCMI_VSYNCI've used the AN5020 as a reference for setting up the code, configured I2C communication, DCMI in slave 12-bit external sync mode, and set the DCMI polarities to match the sensor's output.
