Product: SMT32C013Issue: firmware download in bootmodeDetails:  I’ve recently started firmware development and, with community help, I’ve managed to create firmware for STM8 and several STM32 devices. Until now, I’ve always programmed the MCU using ST-Link—either by debugging or by drag-and-dropping the binary file. Due to new system design requirements, I’d like to create a GUI tool to download firmware using the built-in bootloader. According to AN2606 and the MCU datasheet (STM32C013 series), the bootloader supports two interfaces: USART1 on PA9/PA10 I²C on PB6/PB7 Here are my questions: If PA9/PA10 and PB6/PB7 are already allocated to GPIOs for LEDs, buttons, or other connectivity, can they still be used for bootloading? Or does their existing allocation block firmware download? If those pins are unavailable, are there any alternative methods to download firmware via bootloader (besides ST-Link)? What is In-Application Programming (IAP) bootloading approach?  B

I’ve just started learning STM32 and I’m currently using the STM32F411E-Discovery board. I loaded the default code provided by the Board Selector in STM32CubeIDE and was trying to get a simple LED blink working. It works fine when using the internal HSI clock, but it doesn’t seem to work when I switch to the external HSE clock. Hi,I have a STM32F103C8T6 configured to operate as an I2C slave device on I2C1. It operates as intended for 30-45 minutes before the I2C hangs indefinitely with a HAL I2C state code of 0x2A = HAL_I2C_STATE_BUSY_RX_LISTEN. In this state, further I2C transmissions won't occur but the main code loop will continue to execute without issue.I've tried restarting and resetting the I2C with the inbuilt HAL commands when in this state without success. Hi, Im new to STM32 and writing a bare metal interrupt based i2c library. For some reason addr bit clears itself automatically even though im not reading sr1 and sr2. I also have problems with debug mode, if i decide to step over the function that sets up the interrupt for I2C1_EV_IRQ it sometimes causes debugger to skip the interrupt, it happens randomly. I am trying to make a guitar loop pedal with my nucleo-l476rg board. It has 1MB of flash and I am trying to write and read from bank 2 only as it is the bank of memory I want to use for storing recorded audio. I currently have an active buffer set up between my ADC and DAC and it works well. My goal is to continue to have this active passthrough while recording and playing. It currently stays active when recording however, my DAC shuts off or I read on open circuit from my multimeter when I press the play button. I believe my issue is with either how I am writing to FLASH memory or reading from it. I am using two buffers to achieve this active passthrough while recording as one buffer stores samples while the other is being written to memory and then the buffers reverse. This buffering I believe is working properly as I've been testing which code is running with the on-board LED however i dont think memory part of my code is working. I am coding this at the register level. I've attache

Hi everyone,I've built a STM32H745ZIT6-based board. The microcontroller uses the LDO to generate VCORE. The idea of this board was to build a standalone solution based on my Nucleo-H745ZI-Q project.I did prepare a very simple project, where I toggle a pin with a simple delay, to check that everything works, but sadly nothing seems to work. I'm trying both HSI and HSE clock source, but there is no difference.The first strange thing that I noticed is that during debug the M4 core is stuck in hard fault, even if the configuration used is the same of my project based on the Nucleo: Here is the debug window, and the fault analyzer output:To understand if at least the CM7 works, I commented the "#define DUAL_CORE_BOOT_SYNC_SEQUENCE" to allow it to continue the execution. Nonetheless, the microcontroller seems completely unresponsive.During debug it seems to go through "HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(CH8_GPIO_Port, CH8_Pin);", but the pin doesn't physically change state (it remains LOW). I am trying to erase a sector of the flash memory on my STM32H503RB.  I have successfully validated that I can write to the flash, but when I attempt to erase the sector that I wrote, the contents that I wrote stay the same.  I have a feeling that I am just erasing the wrong sector, but I can't seem to find where I went wrong.  I'm pretty sure that I can erase, because if I put in a deliberately wrong sector number (sector 4, which corresponds to the location of the LL drivers) the device hard faults (which is what you expect when you erase the drivers).I am trying to erase the sector starting at 0x0801_0000, which I would expect to be sector 8. Hi,MasterMCU:   STM32H743IIQuestion:Both FDCAN channels in the MCU are currently in use. I now intend to reset each FDCAN instance (i.e., reset all its registers) during its respective bus-off event, and then reinitialize the instance. Resetting all registers of an instance is typically done through the corresponding FDCAN RST bit in the RCC. However, since both instances share the same RCC, triggering the reset would affect both instances simultaneously. Therefore, I've made modifications for resetting a single instance as follows:HAL_FDCAN_DeInit(hfdcan); hfdcan->Instance->CREL = 0x32141218; hfdcan->Instance->ENDN = 0x87654321; hfdcan->Instance->DBTP = 0x00000A33; ...However, the aforementioned method can only reset some of the registers. Hi,I am designing a custom PCB with an STM32H723. To programm it, i bought a brandnew ST-Link v3 MINIE. CubeIDE reads the serial number of the V3 but can not connect to the target.- Target is supplied with VCC.- From the Board-to-Board-Connector after a lengthy search i connected TMS to SWDIO, TDI to SWO. RESET, CLK, GND and VCC where obvious.- BOOT0 i connected to GND.- Config as follows:starting debuging i get this return:[EDIT: solved sidequest] Searching for solutions i found the programm ST-Link Utility and wanted to start by updating the firmware but the V3 gives me a communication error.When i klick ok, sometimes a version is read and the "Yes" button for upgrade is enabled. DK1 interface a one lane DSI display. DSI display is using SH8601A LCD driver.  SH8601A only can be initialized in LP mode, not HS mode. Hi All,   I want to build a system to sense 240 low current signals at 20kSPS at the same time using 15 ADC with 16 channels each (DDC316 by Texas Instruments, Datasheet: https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ddc316.pdf). I intend to use something like the NUCLEO-H723ZG to drive this system. My question is: Is it possible to use OctoSPI to connect to 8 ADCs at the same time?As far as I can see from the datasheet the sorting of the data will be wrong since the interface expects a parallel data input but maybe I am missing a setting that allows for my use case. A secondary option would be using multiplexed QuadSPI. Something like this seems to be intended for the ADC, as it features a 4-datalane communication mode. However, again the data sorting (page 13 on ADC datasheet) is different from all the documentation I was able to find on QuadSPI (for example RM0468 or AN5050).   I would be very greatful for any input on this issue and appreciate any support. Hello,I have existing hardware designed using STM32G0B1VET6 microcontroller. I want to redesign this hardware to provide Ethernet interface. I am planning to use ICs like LAN9250 or KSZ8851 or ENC424J600. But all these ICs require TCP/IP stack on host side (microcontroller in my case). I want to know if it is possible to configure having TCP/IP stack using STM32CubeMX for this controller. If yes, is there any way i can interface SPI driver which I will have to develop to interface any one of the above ICs?Thanks,Pradeep

I Tried to flash the uart code in stm32 N657 Nucleo Board, but it is not responding, i was able to make the Leds, blink in the N6 board. Please help me out, i am using the uart example printf code in the N6 stm32 package. I tried the normal method used in the STM32 F4 MCUs, also the selection of peripherals are different in the IOC file. also please explain how to configure the RCC and other peripherals in the IOC file of these N6 boards  

I write drive layer in MCU which is stm32f302r8t6. But I can't active to enable SPI clock register. Can you help me with that problem? Maybe you ask me that write in main.c as register level.   RCC->APB2ENR |= 0x0800; Actually I opened SFR and tried to enable SPI clock register but I can't.      

I believe the STM32H743XGH6 has 1 MB of internal flash memory. However, using STM32CubeProgrammer, I was able to write and read data to the reserved area at 0x8180 0000. Is it okay to use this area?The built-in Flash Memory areas of the STM32H743XGH6 are recognized as0x8100 0000-0x817F FFFF and 0x8000 0000-0x0801 FFFF.

Hello, I am using STM32F469BIT with W9812G6KH-6I TR SDRAM and no matter what I did, I could not write to or read from SDRAM since MCU goes into hardfault whenever i want to access SDRAM. I configured FMC according to this article. I am running SDRAM @84MHz and here's my configuration:  According to the datasheet:There are 4 banks. 12 address pins and 16 data bits. Also there are UDQM and LDQM pins so i set 16 bit byte enable.  Number of column address bits: 512 column, 9 bitNumber of row address bits: 4096 row, 12 bitCAS Latency: 3 for 166MHz operation. In application note AN5652, page 7 states that LPBAM can be used in Stop 0, Stop 1, and Stop 2 modes. On page 10, the peripherals that support autonomous mode are listed. Since I cannot use SPI3, I also cannot use Stop 2.Can I configure my MCU in STM32CubeIDE (IOC file) to use LPBAM in Stop 1 mode with SPI1 or SPI2? Are there application examples for this? I have only found projects using Stop 2, and the IDE seems to list only the peripherals available for Stop 2.

Hello everyone,I am fairly new to embedded so bear with me. I am trying to understand bare metal programming.So basically I managed to turn on the LED on soldiered on the board (PA5) but now am trying to create a delay using basic timer TIM6. My issue is that the LED is barely turning on for a very brief moment before turning off. I think my issue lies in how I am configuring the prescaler and auto-reload register.
