I have SPI1 working in bare metal on a 48 pin version of the same chip, but I am having difficulty with SPI3 migrating to a 64 pin.  For reference, I have attached the most recent stm32f103x6.h file from the Cube MX F1 package (STM32Cube_FW_F1_V1.8.0).  SPI3 is on APB1, and SPI1 is on APB2.The first strange thing, if you look at line 17 of the code below, there is no "RCC_APB1ENR_SPI3EN" defined in the stm32f103x6.h file.  When using SPI1, you can use "RCC_APB2ENR_SPI1EN" - which IS defined in the .h file.  So I didn't think much of it and just manually set bit 15 of APB1ENR, corresponding to the SPI3 enable (Page 116 of reference manual RM0008).The second strange thing is "SPI3" simply is not defined in the stm32f103x6.h file.  For instance, if you change line 34 to "SPI3->CR1...", it won't recognize SPI3 and gives an error.It's acting like SPI3 doesn't exist on this chip.  There are no references to SPI3 (or SPI2 for that matter) in the&nbsp

if in the stm32cubeide clock configuration the extrenal oscialtors aren't highlighted it means that i dont need extrenal oscialtor on my custom board?

I have customized hardware based on STM32F407 controller.I want to communicate on both CAN 1 and CAN 2. Both on 250 kbps baud rate but on different CAN bus due to some design requirement.tx = Transmit, rx  = ReceiveI am able to tx and rx on CAN1 but on CAN2 I am only able to tx. Rx does not work on CAN2.I have tried to connect CAN1 on separate CAN bus and CAN2 on separate CAN bus. I have also tried to connect both on same CAN bus. During ENTDAA, HAL_I3C_TgtReqDynamicAddrCallback callsback and wait for me to SetDynAddr after the seventh Byte, still one byte short (DCR Byte), and this causes my target to shift out the DCR while the controller shifts in the assigned Address at the same time. How do i fix this?

Hello, I am using the STM32H747I-DISCO board for my project. I need to set and reset a GPIO pin with a delay of around 10 nanoseconds between the transitions. My question is:Is it practically possible to achieve such precise timing (10 ns pulse width) using GPIO on an STM32 board, specifically the STM32H747? I also tried using direct register-level GPIO access by completely eliminating the HAL drivers. I was able to achieve a minimum pulse width of around 50 to 60 nanoseconds. However, I was still not able to achieve the desired 10 ns set/reset timing I have tried using TIM3 PWM but the minimum pulse I’m able to observe is around 102 ns.I would like to know if there is any reliable method. Any guidance or clarification would be appreciated. Thank you!

In AN2606, it goes into pin specific detail about the pins when look at your specific chip line.   Does this mean that I am limited to those specific pins in order to use the bootloader and that I cannot used an alternate assigned pin?

Hi, I am using STM32H743 nucleo board on one of my design. On my board I have installed nucleo board on board to board connector. For FDCAN interface we are using TCAN3414 transceiver IC. Our bit rate is 1MHz and data rate 2MHz for FDCAN communication on board. We are interfacing the FDCAN with DigiSoM board having transceiver TMC2517. After some packet transmission i observed that communication link is down. CAN bus is not working. On resetting the controller communication starts again for sometime and again stops. I tried replacing the STM32H753 board with STM32H743 and i have not observed any communication issue on that particular system. On other system I am already having STM32H753 but still I am facing the same issue. I am using normal wires for GND CANH and CANL connections of length 15cm max. I tried reducing the baud rate till 250kbps but same issue. I have checked the signal quality on oscilloscope which looks fine with ringing effects. We are using MATLAB modelling for all t

So, the situation has been pretty uncomfortable and frustrating.I'm trying to implement the code to make the USB-C on the STM32U5A9J-DK work so that my PC recognizes the board as a Device.I first started to try to implement it with my currently running code with ThreadX and TouchGFX, but it didn't work.So, I started with a clean project, directly from CubeMX with just the USB OTG switched ON. No custom code, just the one generated by CubeMX.Tried to attach the board to my PC, no device appeared on my PC, and, despite the breakpoint set on the only line of code inside OTG_HS_IRQHandler, when attaching the board to the USB, the interrupt doesn't fire.I've checked step by step if the initialization and HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(OTG_HS_IRQn, 0, 0); HAL_NVIC_EnableIRQ(OTG_HS_IRQn); are executed, and everything seemed ok.So, my question is, because there's no real documentation on how to implement the USB handling with the STM32 microcontroller, how am I supposed to make it work?This is

Hi,I am connecting ESP32 with STM32G474RET6 Nucleo board via SPI. I have configured SPI in DMA mode to transfer data. With NSS pin enabled for chip select I can see the pin remains low always during transmission of data and also in idle. So that I could not communicate with ESP32. Because of that I have to do manual GPIO write high and low in the code and that works. How to automate this NSS pin (chip select) to work, Kindly help me with this. Thanks in Advance

My project is using a GPIO to enable/disable a buzzer on a software timer. This boils down to a call to  HAL_GPIO_WritePin(), which does GPIOx->BSRR = pinmask (0x80 in this case) to enable the buzzer. This works as expected most of the time. There are multiple calls to this function on the same pin on the same port which work correctly. And then... Boom! I have a very repeatable situation in which the register assignment immediately causes the device MCU to reset. I have implementations for hard faults, bus faults, and so on, but the code doesn't seem to go there (breakpoint instructions in place).It turns out that this fault does not happen unless the debugger is connected. The reset does not disconnect from the debugger. I'm not stepping the code to make this happen.What are possible causes for this error? I previously had an unrelated fault which only happened while stepping the code (a race condition tripped by a missed interrupt). Hi, The SPI communication between an ESP(Master) and the STM(Slave) is failing when i configure the SPI clock at 10MHz.I have STM32F429ZIT6 DISC1 board and i have used SPI3 as slave, the SPI3 is on the APB1 bus which is configured at 45MHz PCLK.The communication is well and good at 8MHz SPI_CLK but when i configure it at 10MHz SPI_CLK it is failing, the control is stuck at :  if(HAL_SPI_Receive(&hspi3, buf, sizeof(buf), 0xffff) != HAL_OK){ Error_Handler(); } I'm unable to find out what may be the issue, as the slave's PCLK is 2xSPI_CLK, it should work right?

Hello - I recently took a working design and upgraded from the STM32L4 to the STM32L5. I'm having a major issue getting the i2c bus to work properly.I have SCL (PB11) and SDA (PB10) configured.I have pull-up resistors (4.7 kohm) on each of SDA/SCL. I've confirmed that it is 3.3V on the outside of thoes resistors.I've configured this in STM32CubeMX to be I2C2 (I've attached the .ioc file)I'm almost certain the clock configuration is correct (attached the .ioc file)When I disconnect the STM32L5, each bus properly pulls up to 3.3V.However, when connected to the STM32L5, it immediately pulls SDA to 1.0V and SCL to 0.8V despite it being 3.3V on the other side of my pull-up resistors.I've tried everything I can think of in firmware (stm32duino and STM Cube IDE) to fix this, but there isn't a single thing that works.Trustzone is disabled (see option bytes below)Here is the design, I've highlighted PB10 and PB11. I am designing a PCB that uses the STM32L433RC.I just checked the pin out of the PCB footprint with the datasheet, but then got confused as there are two different pin outs for what seems to be the same device.The footprint I am using matches figure 9 of the datasheet, not figure 8 (although I am not using the external SMPS).The difference starts with pin 25 as shown in the diagrams below.How is the pin out different for the same device ? Is this a setting in STM32CubeIDE ?   

Hi,I would like to implement a USB -> SPI flash storage solution. There are several guides and examples already available to do so (also the tinyUSB ones), so I think that should not be an issue.However, due to physical constraints of my project, I do not have room to add one single flash chip of the requires size, but I WOULD have room for several physically smaller parts.So, the question is this - is it possible to combine two external flash chips (either connected to the same SPI peripheral with separate CS lines, OR two separate SPI1 / SPI2 peripherals, OR to an OctoSPI interface) into "one" larger memory and access them as if they were one larger chip?I do not have a preference of what (if any) software stack to use but I do need it to be a FAT file system in the end, I think.Cheers,R
