STM32 MCUs Wireless

Hi, I am using the STM32 Nucleo WBA52CG evaluation board and programming it using Zephyr v3.7.0 and am looking how to set the Tx output power of the BLE radio. Are there any configs available in Zephyr for the same?  If not, alternatively please suggest a way to do this. I want to configure the Tx output power of the radio to +5 dBm. Thanks, Kaiwalya   

Hello,I'm currently working with the STM32WB55 evaluation card (P-Nucleo WB55). According to the data sheet, those MCUs supports ZigBee 3.0 which include Green Power configuration.However, I can't seem to find the Green Power Device (End device) cluster when configuring my ZigBee device on CubeMX. Would greatly appreciate any help.

Hi,i am playing with the code example BLE_p2pServer_ota with NUCLEO-WBA55 and i would like to change the BLE advertising intervall in the code (not with CubeMX).For example, if I switch on the blue LED with using ST BLE Toolbox on the smartphone, the advertising interval should change to 100ms - 200ms after BLE disconnection. Hi Setup and IssueI am struggling to get my stm32WB5MM running the light application to commission on my Rasperberry pi4 (Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS) with the openthread-border-router and chip-tool installed with snap (edge version to be compatible with the RCP spindel version on the latest STM32WB55RG-nucleo) all are running on the board router without an issue apparent to me. the thread device ends up in a state where it says "BLE connected" and "network joined" on the display and i can see the device in the child table but shortly after the display says "fabric failed"Steps to reproduceI use the web interface to generate the thread network When commissioning i follow the steps belowthe log from the output is attached along with the log from the device side when i look in the openthread board router log i see "...Frame rx failed, error:UnknownNeighbor..." i am not sure if this is the issue and or how to fix it does anybody have any suggestions to how i can proceed fixing

I am trying to write interrupts bare-metal style. When I try to set the interrupt vector for LPTIM1 (using B-L071Z-LRWAN1) using this method, NVIC_SetVector(LPTIM1_IRQn, (uint32_t)&LPTIM1_IRQHandler); the compiler gives me this error:../Core/Src/main.c:87:48: error: 'LPTIM1_IRQHandler' undeclared (first use in this function); did you mean 'TIM6_IRQHandler'?87 | NVIC_SetVector(LPTIM1_IRQn, (uint32_t)&LPTIM1_IRQHandler);Which I find bizarre, since I am not using timer 6, and LPTIM1_IQRHandler is listed in startup_stm32l072czyx.s. I tried declaring LPTIM1_IRQHandler as an extern, but with no success. Attached is the startup file.How do I fix this?

Hello ST,For our project, we would like to use STM32WB09KE chip as a Bluetooth MCU and would like to establish communication with the HOST MCU ex:- Stm32H5.Do you have any protocol, how we can make communication both ways from the Main MCU to enable the Bluetooth stack and send advertising parameters during the run time and get the response back to the host?Because, as a individual project - we can create an application for ble chip and run it independently, but in this case we would like to control the BLE chip from the host mcu by sending requests.We can use UART/SPI for this purpose, but in detail do we need to send the ACI commands or HCI commands for enabling the BLE stack on the BLE chip?IF you have an example, please provide us.Thanks & RegardsPT

Hello,When I add the BLE stack to the STM32WB35CEU6A, I notice that the RTC and timer settings don’t work correctly. With the BLE stack enabled, I can’t get accurate time information from the RTC and timer, or there are inconsistencies in the timing. Is there something I might be overlooking in the STM32CubeMX settings? What specific settings should I pay attention to for stable operation of both RTC and timer with BLE?Thanks!

Hello, I'm a beginner in hardware design for STM32 MCU wireless. I usually get detailed information about component value recommendations in the datasheet or application note. But in STM32WL33, I get unclearer information than in other MCU wireless documentation like STM32WL5 or STM32WB55. Here is the application circuit from the STM32WL33 datasheet; there is no component value recommendation. I have several question1. what is L1 and L2 recomendation value?2. I want to use this MCU for 433MHz or 868MHz, so what value recommendation for matching network components?3. Why in the application circuit there is no RF switch? In AN5407 and MB1720 docs (STM32WL_QFN48_4Layers_Ref_Board) I found that using RF switch.  

HI Team,We are using the STM32WB controller for our project, in that we are using the I2C1 for to communicate with Eeprom Module.Can anyone explain how to configure/Calculate the Exact Timing Register value. If we have any sample calculator for different I2C Speeds along with other register settings it is very helpful to us.Currently My Register value:  hi2c1.hi2c1.Init. I am currently working with the STM32WB55RGV6 microcontroller, which has a total of 1 MB of Flash memory. However, after generating a project using STM32CubeMX, I noticed that the Flash memory file only indicates 512 KB of available memory.Could you please provide clarification on how the remaining memory is allocated among different sections? My STM32WB5MMG application interfaces with a GPS receiver. Ideally, what I would like to do is to update the RTC date/time every time I get a timepulse signal from the GPS, so that the RTC date/time is always as close as possible to GPS time. However, my application also uses ST's HW timer server, and when I update the RTC date/time, it seems as though this also resets timers in the HW timer server, so that those timers do not trigger when expected.Is there a way to update the RTC without interfering with HW timer server timers?Thank you!

I have a P-NUCLEO-LRWAN3 and I have downloaded the I-CUBE-LRWAN expansion software.Using the project "STM32CubeExpansion_LRWAN_V2.1.0 \ Projects \ NUCLEO-L073RZ \ Applications \ LoRaWAN \ LoRaWAN_AT_Master \ STM32CubeIDE \ LRWAN_NS1" and following the procedure indicated on the file "readme.txt" on the VCOM port I cannot send and receive anything. I also tried to use the "LoRaWAN_End_Node / STM32CubeIDE" project but there is no project related to my SX1278 model. Instead the Gateway works perfectly. Hi Everyone! So yeah, as the title says, while designing the PCB, we forgot to ground RF_Out and ANT_IN pins of STM32WB5MMGH6T6, datasheet says we should have, because there is no external antenna. We have noticed it when we tried to run our codes to connect Bluetooth but nothing worked.  So I am not sure if it is the reason and if it is the reason, is it possible to take the BLE module off with hotair and short circuit unconnected pads to neighboring GND pads?

Using the latest SM32Cube_FW_WL_V1.3.0 and the lorawan middleware.For MAC v1.0.4 the devnonce and other parameters needs to get persisted to the flash.  From what I see this happens when LmHandlerNvmDataStore is called.But from the looks of it, this is never called?  I assume I am missing a file somewhere!?Any idea where and when this function is getting called? 

I'm trying to program a P-Nucleo WB55 USB Dongle (PCB number MB1293C) with the BLE_TransparentModeVCP example. Using STM32 Cube Programmer: 1. Load FUS V1.20.0 - stm32wb5x_FUS_fw.bin at 0x803A0002. Load  BLE Stack V1.- stm32wb5x_BLE_Stack_full_extended_fw.bin at 0x80110003. Load BLE_TransparentModeVCP_reference.hex (from P-NUCLEO-WB55.USBDongle directory) at 0x800000 I get a single green LED on the board and it appears as a COM port on the PC, but STM32CubeMonitor-RF is unable to connect to it. Any suggestions?

Hello!I am having issues with firmwares on the P-Nucleo-WB55. I started from blank code from CubeMX using AzureRTOS/ThreadX with an added layer of CMSIS and took inspiration from the HeartRateFreeRTOS sample (as it uses CMSIS too). I am currently using the BLE/ZigBee FF dynamic firmware as the project will include communication with ZB devices later on. The ZB stack is not initialized.I refactored some of the code from the sample and have been able to see all the proper exchanges on the SHCI/HCI layers being successful: getting the firmware version, enabling the C2, resetting HCI, setting the default PHY, configuring various settings (public address, IR/ER, TX power level), enabling GATT then GAP, updating the device name and appearance, setting the IO capabilities and the authentication requirements.Starting advertisement begins with `aci_gap_set_not_discoverable`, which fails (error 0xC/not allowed) as expected as the device is not discoverable by default.The next call is to `aci_gap

Hello,I am working with the STM32WB5M module and encountering an issue with Zigbee connections between the coordinator (coord) and an end device. The end device successfully reconnects and resumes communication upon waking up from the stop mode. However, if there is a power loss while the end device is in stop mode, it fails to reconnect after the power is restored. I have implemented a filter in the coordinator's code to detect disconnections, but it seems that this filter only detects disconnections when the end device is not in stop mode. When the end device is in stop mode, the filter fails to detect any disconnections. Could you provide guidance on how to ensure the end device can reliably reconnect to the coordinator after a power loss during stop mode? Any suggestions on modifying the filter or any other settings would be greatly appreciated.

I'm working on a project using the STM32WB55 Nucleo Board with the Zigbee_APS_Coord example. I need this specific example because my application communicates at the APS level and doesn't use ZCL.My application also requires a custom encryption key, and we don't use or support install codes. The system works by having the coordinator create a network with a known, configurable extended PAN ID, to which all router devices (no end devices, only routers) connect. Communication is then established using the custom encryption key.I’m providing this background because I’m unsure if I’m misconfiguring the Zigbee_APS_Coord example for my coordinator. My goal is to allow my existing non-STM32 routers to connect to the STM32WB55 Nucleo Board acting as a coordinator. If anyone has insights or can point out potential issues, I'd appreciate the help.FWIW, the routers already connect and work perfectly fine with my existing non-STM32 coordinator. The STM32WB1MMCH6TR module has a BOOT0 pin that is pulled high on the MB1868 "B-WB1M-WPAN1" board through (what appears to be) a non-populated resistor. Without this resistor the BOOT0 input to the module is floating.  Does the module pull the signal down internally or is the BOOT0 input to the STM32WB15CC on the module left floating? Is there a design guide document for using the STM32WB1MM?  So far I've been using the bare chip documentation and the B-WB1M-WPAN1 board as a guide.  I do have the STM32WB1MMC datasheet (DS14096 - Rev 7 - August 2024) but there aren't a lot of details.

I have an unusual question. The storage temperature range for an STM32WL is stated as: -65 to +150 °C.We are looking at doing some particular tests at high temperatures for radiation exposure recovery, so some questions if anyone knows:1. If we put the chips in an oven at 140 °C, powered off, for 6 months is there a likely hood of FLASH data loss ?2. If the FLASH does lose data, I assume some factory settings could also be lost ?3. Is it possible to reprogram the factory settings and the internal ROM code if this gets messed up ?4. Would the STM32 still be accessible via the SWD interface even if the internal settings/FLASH is messed up ?
