Hi,Using ST Workbench debugger my 16-bit timer TIM2 (china bought) overflows each 16 seconds as the prescaler is set to 10. With an 16MHz internal clock divided by 2^10 (1024) the timer should overflow theoretically each 4.1 seconds. Prescaler 9 takes 8 seconds an prescaler 8 takes 4 seconds. So it is consistent but not according documentation. Where do I go wrong? Or is the internal clock 4MHz???

We are working with an STM8L with ST Visual Development Tools and Cosmic STM8 on Windows 11 and the ST-LINK/V2 and SWIM Connector.  We can compile, build, and program but NOT debug. We get the attached Debug Error:We have tried the recommendations from previous posts such as running the Command Lines:Regsvr32 /u 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\DAO350.DLL'Regsvr32 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\DAO350.DLLWe also tried the ST Toolset.msi and tried to perform repairs.  We even uninstalled and reinstalled it and tried it again.  We still get by the error shown in the attachment.We believe the issue might be related to Microsoft preventing the 32-bit version of the database engine on Windows 11 since it uses the 64-bit version (our machines are 64-bit).PLEASE HELP!

Hi,I fell in love with this cute little uC and created all kinds of succesfull projects.Now I have a problem. I want to decode DCF77 time signals. I bought me a few DCF77 receivers from China. They all work fine. I connected the data output of the DCF77 to the STM8S103 uC portpin PA1. I configured the port interrupt to only react on high-going edges. Even if the PA1 signal is low, when enabling the PA1 interrupt more than 1 interrupts are executed. I tried many things.- inside the interrupt handler dummy read the GPIOA->IDR- inside the interrupt handler keep track if its the first or next entry it turns out also the next entry is executed- changed the interrupt type to raising-edge-only, same behaviourBut nothing helps,who can help me out?

The details of my setup are as follows: Software: STVD-STM8 version 42.0.0Target MCU: STM8S103F3PContext: I compile the .s19 file with Cosmic CXSTM8 (STM8FSE_2025) in STVD and then load it into STVP for checksum verification. However, during the import process, I receive warnings indicating that certain addresses are out of the target memory range. Previously, I did not experience this issue. Hi, I use a PCB that is reduced to one STM8AF5288 and 3 100nF Capacitors. No other components, all are removed. I supply it with 3,3V. I want to reduce current consumption in halt-mode to 4,5uA. Some others posted simliar problems, I could never find a working solution. My current consumption in halt mode is:350uA at 3V550uA at 3,31050uA at 3,7Here is my code, can anyone please help? Could you please assist me with the sample code for SMBUS communication using interrupt mode in STM8S with a battery IC BQ76930(I am trying to read the temperature and voltage and Device ID)?  

I have a minimal development board with a STM8S103F, ST Visual Develop, and ran into the following :Location zero ($00) is inaccessible using direct adressing modes. Reading returns fixed data, and writing has no effect. Using the debugger it is possible to enter data in the memory section, including location $00.I tested by patching some opcodes ( 0xB6 ( LD A,$00 ) and 0xB7 ( LD $00,A ) ) that do not function. Reading $00 always returns hex 0x8B in the accumulator and I have no idea why. Any address other than $00 works fine. 

Hi there,If I am flashing the .s19 file using st visual programmer I have observed that there is a flash memory corruption. But If I am flashing this with visual developer I am not facing any issue.Can anyone tell me is there any alternate SW tool for visual programmer, or any other solution on this? 

I am trying to configure an STLUX285 SMED to trigger an ADC measurement but am unable to find the documentation of the registers required to do this.RM0380 claims "SMED as ADC trigger source" in section 21.16."AFR_IOMXP2" is supposed to have a bit called "ADC_HWtrg" yet I cannot find it.likewise the bit "SMD_HWtrg" seems not to be documented anywhere.How do I configure the SMED to trigger an ADC reading at a precise point in time?For context:The SMED is used to drive the primary mosfet of a flyback converter. I want to use it also to trigger an adc conversion of an aux winding.

I am trying to implement the "Delay" function from timing_delay.h / timing_delay.c that comes with STM8 example code. In order for the delay to work, you need to add the function "TimingDelay_decrement" to stm8l15x_it.c in order to decrement the timer (or it will go on forever). You can only have one of the following files in a project without it breaking, either "stm8_interrupt_vector.c" or "stm8l15x_it.c". Everytime I build my code, stm8_interrupt_vector.c gets added to my project and breaks the build, despite the file not even existing at this point (removed any trace of it).1) first and foremost, I really just want a delay function that works in my code. 2) second most I would not mind imeplementing the decrement function inside stm8_interrupt_vector.c, however I do not know how to do it. 3) lastly, I would like to figure out how to remove stm8_interrupt_vector.c from my project for good. any of these three wi

Hi. I am designing Schematic for STM8L050J3 chip. In that, pin1( first pin) , in datasheet they mentioned as SWIM in port A0 of pin1 and USART TX in port A2 of pin1. I want to use this pin as SWIM for programming as well as USART for data transmission. How can i use that? Is there a way?  

Hi everyone,I have 12v dc 4 channel relay module which have stm8s103f3 on it.i am using ST visual develop and STVP to flash program using ST-Link V2 programmer.ST-Link V2 Pins: 1- RST,  3- GND, 5- Swim, 7- 3.3v (which is required for relay module).when i make the connections as above pinouts and try to program using In ST programmer, the module gets turned ON but it gives: Error : Cannot communicate with the device !Check the SWIM cable connection and check all the needed pin connections on the SWIM connector.If the application code uses Swim Disable and Reset pin as Output or has disabled SWIM Clock Divider:Try Now to SWITCH OFF and ON the application Power Supply while NRST Reset pin is forced low.Error : < PROGRAM MEMORY verifying failed.I have attached the image of Module and programmer.please help to find the solution on it. Thanks, and regards.Saurav.

Hello, I have a problem with setting up PWM on the general purpose timer. I tried setting PWM on timers 2 and 3 using different channels, but I didn't see a PWM signal at the output. I also tried setting up PWM from timer 1 and it worked, but I only need PWM from timer 3. I am using STM8L151K4. Hi, I have look Extensively THREE different times now to find an assembler reference.  NOT the instruction set, the assembler directives.  Data types declared, conditional assembly (if avail), Everything the Assembler uses to generate machine code. I want to know that hwo i can step my stm8s103 via STVD using ST-Link debugger

Need to IAP save two 16(10) bit ADC values to EEROM. Done parm saves before in STM8S105, but want to see it in ICP mode.In NXP MC9S08, I can turn off download, which cleared Its EEROM. That let me run the ADC "learn" of the values, save them to EEROM, then power cycle and see them retained.I'm thinking running debug without download will be the same, but I can't find it.SO, I want to test "stuff" two values to EEROM, power down / up, invoke Debug (ICP) and see them preserved.Trusting IAP to get/save values without verifying doesn't sit well. Like Reagan: Engineers don't Trust - they Verify!Deeply appreciate my "betters", everybody old enough has been on BOTH sides of this!!  Thanks, Kevin

I have the 8S105C based Discovery. I'm new to STM, but been writing NXP 9S08 assembler >20 yrs. Customer has 2 products using 9S08PA4, but needs them ported to STM8S. Both are pure assembler - I wrote them and now must port. Best of worlds would illustrate ADC, Timer and PWM aspects, but I'd be happy with just some simple GPIO and the framework to assemble, download and debug. I've looked and see all kinds of C, but only an ST7 asm example - enough different to not seem practical. Thanks in advance, Kevin (66yo newby)

Hello ,  I have 5 ST-LINK/V2 and 5 products. Each programmer is connected to one product at a time. I am using Windows 7 and a USB hub. Everything works fine, but when I migrated to Windows 10, I encountered an unstable programming issue. I updated the driver for Windows 10 and the framework for the programmer.
