MEMS and sensors

Hi,I’m working with the LSM6DSL sensor and I’d like to know if it’s possible to use both the Low-Pass Filter (LPF) and High-Pass Filter (HPF) at the same time in the accelerometer. If so, could someone explain how to configure it?Thanks!

Dear ST,The VL53L8CH's example codes have demonstrated how the sensor can be controlled through set of APIs. However I am still not very sure about how can I switch between different working modes on-the-fly during runtime.For example, assume I have set the sensor to work under CNH output mode, by using API from cnh_pluginvl53lmz_cnh_init_config () and then vl53lmz_start_ranging ().Then I need to change the mode back to basic ranging mode, i.e., I do not need CNH data output anymore, just want default data output. What should I do to cancel it? Do I just have to vl53lmz_stop_ranging (), and vl53lmz_start_ranging () again? Similar question exists for other modes like when working under motion indicator mode, and then again I need to switch to basic ranging mode (without CNH data or other plugins, etc.).I did not find a clear answer from the examples provided. Hi,I'm using IIS3DWB MEMS sensor to get the motor vibration data which will have a bandwidth of 6kHz and need to store it to a 16GB SD cardI'm confused to calculate the data rate, i mean what is the ODR i need to consider?My calculation is :ODR = 26667 and 3 axis 6 bytes, which becomes 160kb/s and 12.89GB/day precisely, which is a lot of data for a dayShould i consider the ODR to be 2x times the bandwidth (6kHz in this case)?Also let me know about the raw data and how can i filter out the 6khz frequency data that i need

Folks,I have an STM32 rigged up via SPI to read gyro data-only from an LSM6DSL. I read it periodically, every 20ms, and for a while it will report back a few hundred samples in FIFO STATUS REG 1 and 2; I empty the FIFO and after another 20ms it reports me a few hundred samples available and so on. After a short time though it reports no samples in the FIFO and after that it will never have any data to report until I reset and restart.Is there a technique for this? Can I not just read out every so often? We don't have the interrupt line connected to the micro, so it has to be done on a polling basis.I can imagine that maybe if you didn't empty the FIFO quickly enough that there might be a bug in the silicon and it might always read back zero, *but* I have set watermark to 2048 and stop on full, yet it still falls over.This is at 1.66k ODR (both gyro AND FIFO). If I run it st a slower ODR it works OK.At 833Hz, the next rate down, I always get 108 or 111 samples to read (which I am a

HelloI have a problem with the accelerometer lsm303agr and the Fifo Stream mode, I have a time offset between 2 watermark interrupts.Configuration :- accelerometer only- watermark interrupt enable on int1- bdu enable- Stream mode enable- Fifo enable- Don't used any gesture recognition, or filter.- i use the spi mode at 500khzDescription of the problem :I used the accelerometer in Fifo Stream mode, the watermark to fire the interrupt on pin int1 when a certain number of data in the Fifo is reached.The odr is at 1hz, i used the rtc of the stm32 (from a homemade board) to collect the timestamp when INT1 trigger.I have notice a time offset for every sample in addition of the ODR configured.I measured it to be around 25ms/samples on top of my 1seconds period (odr 1hz).I checked the timing at the oscilloscope which confirmed that the problem Don't come from the reading of the rtc but from the lsm303agr.for example :With a watermark to store/collect 2 samples from the Fifo, in theory i should

I am completely new to using the STEVAL-MKBOXPRO (Sensor Tile.Box Pro) sensor, and I have a problem accessing some of the functions in the ST BLE Sensor app. I can connect the sensor in the app, but when I try to plot the data within the app, I cannot choose anything in the drop-down menu other than "MemsSensorFunctionCompat", whereas I should be able to choose between that, gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer.I cannot find the function "Flow" on the bottom of the list with all the options. That is where I am supposed to be able to choose between basic apps and create my own apps in expert mode, but I cannot access it for some reason.More info: I am using the newest version of the new app (not the classic one, but I have tried that too; it also doesn't work), I have deleted and redownloaded it, paired and disconnected from the sensor multiple times. Thank you to anyone who has some information about this in advance!

After activating the accelerometer and angular rate sensor, the temperature sensor value does not change and appears to be frozen. What is the cause of this?Is there any countermeasure?

Hi,I am working on an application where I need to generate an interrupt whenever a tap exceeds a certain acceleration threshold. I have already chose the IIS2DLPC for this purpose.However, on page 58 of the datasheet, in Table 67 for the TAP_THS_Z register, I found the following:"TAP_THSZ_[4:0] Threshold for tap recognition @ FS = ±2 g on Z direction."I would like to clarifyDoes that mean that taps above 2g can't be detected. My application requires detecting relatively strong impacts, ideally up to 4 g, and preferably up to 8 g.If this is possible, could you advise on how to configure the device to achieve this?If it is not feasible, could you recommend any alternative accelerometers from your product line that would meet these requirements?Thanks in advance!  

How to distinguish whether the product LIS3LV02DL is 11+ or 21+ by the printing on the product? There is only a "1" on the product( And no label( 

I am trying to use VL53L8CX with stm32f4 discovery but had no success.  Implementing the preexisitting API has been tough.  Is there a register map for this sensor whcih can be used to create a minimalistic driver and interface sensor using I2C or SPI.If anyobne knows what is register 0x7FFF . Please let me know.

I am using the ASM330LHH connected to the processor via 4-wire SPI communication. I’m trying to read the WHO_AM_I register, which should return 0x6B according to the datasheet, but I keep getting 0xFF. The CS line is set correctly before and after the transfer. What could be causing this incorrect data read? If the device isn’t found (WHO_AM_I doesn’t return 0x6B) and I still try to read accelerometer and gyro data, and I am getting data, will those values be completely random?

I am developing a wireless sensor to detect vehicles using the IIS2MDC. My main logic is:BOOT -> Init sensor -> Measure environment -> Set detection thresholds and offsets based on environment -> Set interrupts -> Wait for interrupt On interrupt -> Acquire vehicle heading -> Send RF signal to gatewayAfter some hours working properly the sensor starts sending continuous signals without a vehicle or other metalic object nearby. How can i correct this behaviour? Can I operate ODR_XL[3:0], FS[1:0]_XL and LPF2_XL_EN of CTRL1_XL of ASM330LHH simultaneously?Should I set FS[1:0]_XL and LPF2_XL_EN first and then set ODR_XL[3:0]?

Should INT2_CTRL (0Eh) in ASM330LHH be changed when ODR_XL[3:0] in CTRL1_XL is 0, or should it be changed after being set to non-zero?

Hello everyone, I am currently using the LSM303AGR's magnetometer and accelerometer. After coding the self-test procedure from the datasheet, and noticed that the number of samples for the magnetometer self-test is way higher than the number of samples for the accelerometer self-test (5 for the Accelerometer, 50 for the Magnetometer). When looking at the Application Note (AN4825: ultra-compact high-performance eCompass module based on the LSM303AGR), the number of samples to average is 5 at page 21/65 - Magnetometer self-test), whereas it is 50 in the next figure at page 22/65 (Figure 3. Magnetometer self-test procedure). Which one should it be ? Thanks in advance, CJ

Hello,i am trying to run the self test procedure on the lis3dh according to Application Note 3308 but for some reason the  output change (13 lsb) is below the minimum value listed in the lis3dh (17lsb) .If i run the procedure multiple times in a row immediately after each other, it only fails the first test consistently. I would like to implement a low pass filter to filter out noise at frequencies above 2Hz on the IIS2ICLX inclinometer. I would like to have as high an ODR as possible, let's assume 833Hz. When I test "Cloud logging" demo from App, by right I should be able to see list of available Azure IOT central PNP applications, like "Proteus POC". However, there is nothing application available in PNP configuration page of App.Your valuable suggestions are most welcomed to advise how to send sensor node data to Azure IOT central cloud.
