STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

I struggled with the difference between STM32U5G9J-DK2 and STM32U5G9J-DK1. The STM32U5G9J-DK2 link to the STM website is not working or is missing. It seems to me the STM32U5G9J-DK2 is a newer, cheaper variant, but what is the difference with DK1? I guess the STM32U5A9J-DK has no audio and is an older model. Does CubeMX for STM32U5G9J-DK2 include Azure ThreadX/FileX/USBX just like Nucleo STM32U5A5. The 2nd question is, is there a useful daughterboard that has an SD card for the Nucleo STM32U5A5?Thanks

There is a utility to update the  EMW3080 to version 2.3.4 on the STM32H573I DISCO but how can I revert to a previous version?Is the source available for the update utility so I can replace 2.3.4 with 2.1.11?Thank you

I just unpacked NUCLEO64 C031C6 board and .. no code is working. Debugging I found all the code was stuck at SystemClock_Config / HAL_RCC_OscConfig.I checked and by default in the ioc file the HSE and LSE are set to "Crystal/Ceramic". For now I found a workaround - in the clock configuration I chose using the internal HSI, but I'd expect the boards to be working out of box with external clock source what is even declared on the board description (24 MHz or 48 MHz HSE)Later I found in the user manual (6.7 OSC clock sources):"HSE, which is the 8 MHz oscillator for the STM32 microcontroller. This clock is not implemented on the STM32 Nucleo-64 board" I have as well nucleo32-l432kc where the HSE seems to be present and working.I'd like to just confirm - is the HSE crystal really not there? Or did I miss something?Thank you for any insight

Hi,I am trying to get the above named board to work with an ILI9341 based display. But it is not working. I took a look at the SPI lines with a logic analyser. I saw that there was no activity on the CLOCK line. I switched to an alternative pin for the CLOCK signal but I did not get any result.What could be wrong? I bought NUCLEO-H753ZI board, but we can't find any firmware demo project for the NUCLEO-H753ZI board in downloaded "en.stm32cubeh7_v1-11-0" (Its directory "NUCLEO-H753ZI" is empty).    We need the ADC firmware demo projects for NUCLEO-H753ZI board.    Where we can find them?2. NUCLEO-H753ZI ADC does not accept the analog negative signal inputs. Hi happy people,Until we receive the prototype from our electronic designer, I work on the NUCLEO 144 U575IZ dev board, from IAR workbench, and via ST-LINK facilities. In this condition I can execute a minimalist shell (I send command from PC, the board execute and answer,)  on USART1 via the VCP mounted by ST-LINK. Everything works fine this way. Now I need to prepare myself to work on the real hardware. First step: I move the Nucleo from ST-LINK to Segger J-Link, by following this from the Nucleo user manual UM2861move JP6 on pins 7-8, so I power the Nucleo from USB-Cset JP1unset JP2All of this works fine, I can upload binary to the board and debug step by step from IAR Workbench, no problem. Second step: I want to get rid of the VCP mounted by ST-LINK and directly use USART1 on CN12 connector, that is I need PA9 (TX) & PA10 (RX) + a gnd on this connector and on this connector I wire a FTDI USB-RS232 cable.remove solder bridge SB32 and SB34 : no more connectio

During this shift, I encountered two variants of the STM32F746-DISCO:1. DK32F746G$CU42. The STLink Mini data sheet has a pin labeled "T_NRST" I am wondering if this needs to be connected to the "DEBUG_JTRST" or the "NRST" pin of the microcontroller.

Hello, Im writing a bootloader for the STM32F303 and I have some issue with the use of the HSE through the PLL using rcc_clock_setup_pll from libopencm3.I have three pieces of software on the MCU, flashed using OpenOCD :- A start bootloader flashed at 0x8000000 (role : select whether we start the main bootloader or the application)- A main bootloader flashed at 0x8001800 (role : for now simply blink LEDs on the board to see that we entered it, set a flag in RAM to switch to the application, then do a system reset)- An application flashed at 0x8010000 (simply blinky program started by the start bootloader after the system reset)My issue :- If I place the call rcc_clock_setup_pll(&rcc_hse8mhz_configs[RCC_CLOCK_HSE8_72MHZ]); at the start of the start bootloader (and never call it after in the main bootloader / application) it works fine- If, instead, I place the call at the start of the main bootloader (while also removing the call from the start bootloader), we never exit the functio

Hi,i'm currently trying to find a suitable way to programm options bytes in production.The boards are flashed using a J-Link and we would not like to switch to ST-Link.Is it possible to simply add the option bytes to our binary?I guess at least some script would be necessary for unlocking the the write access for the option bytes.Any help is appreciated!BR

Hello, I have a nucleo 144 development board with a stm32f429. Which I was able to record and it worked correctly but then it fell to the floor and the pcb separated from the st-link. And now my program doesn't run, I can't enter DFU mode either. I tried to set the boot0 pin to 3V3 but I couldn't get it to enter DFU.

Hello, first post here. I have Stm32 Nucleo board and I'm making some tests on this for the first time. Is there a eay to record audio and play sound with this board? Hello everyone,I have designed a custom board with the STM32G0B1CET6N but I cannot connect to the nucleo st-link programmer.I have removed the two jumpers from the nucleo board but when connecting to the board it doesn't get recognised by the ST-Link Utility or STM32Programmer.I do get an issue with the driver on the Device Manager but when I connect it to another custom board it works fine.Below is the schematic for my custom board.Any help is really appreciated. Matteo 

Hi all,I have an STM32F746G-DISCO board bought some years ago and I am trying to use it with a Pololu Dual VNH5019 Motor Driver Shield for Arduino (https://www.pololu.com/product/2507) to drive a DC motor.I successfully created a TouchGFX application with a couple of buttons and a slider with which I can control the START/STOP status of the motor and the duty cycle of a PWM signal which controls its speed.The shield uses Arduino signals D2, D4 as Motor 1 Direction inputs A and B respectively, D6 as Motor 1 enable signal and D9 as PWM signal.All signals work correctly except D4 ( = M1INB) which from the schematic diagram of the discovery board should correspond to signal PG7. Unfortunately PG7 seems to be not available at all in the GPIO configuration panel of the board in STM32CubeMX.I don't not if this could be a problem with the particular revision of the discovery board I have.Unfortunately I am unable to find its revision (I bought it some years ago), but I attach a couple of

I recently downloaded and installed the latest version of STM32CubeIDE, and went to configure a project for the STM32F072B-DISCO eval board.However, contrary to other threads here, and instructions provided with the board, that part number (in fact, ANY STM32F072B - not just the eval board) are no longer listed as a valid MCU in the library.Is there a supplemental driver that now needs downloaded/installed somewhere?

Good morning.I am wiling to use the STM32G4 Nucleo-32 board (MB1430) board for an analog to CAN use. I would like to know if I could power up my 10 5V sensors. so i would like to know if I can use the +5V of my board and the current capacity of it to power up my sensors.  My other question would be around the power supply of the board, It seems logical to use 7V and 800 mA to power it up so I will have as much power possible to use my 5V for my sensors. Is it the correct way to think? I would also like to know if i Have a 14 Volt battery, if I can directly put 2 boards in serial, the regulator inside of them making always sure that the tension is stable even if there is current variation in the circuit.

Hi everyone,I’m working on a project with an STM32H745, and I need to use a custom QSPI flash loader in IAR Embedded Workbench. I already have a custom loader file provided by ST, but it's in .stldr format, which is compatible with STM32CubeProgrammer, not IAR.In IAR, I’ve successfully set up loaders for internal flash using .flash files (for BANK1 and BANK2), but I haven’t found a straightforward way to use .stldr files directly in IAR. I’ve tried searching through the IAR flashloader configurations, but it seems like .stldr files aren’t natively supported.Questions:Is there a way to convert .stldr files into an IAR-compatible format, like .flash?Does anyone know if ST provides an IAR-compatible QSPI loader for the STM32H7 series, or if IAR has a utility for converting .stldr files?Has anyone successfully created a custom QSPI flash loader for STM32H7 in IAR, and if so, do you have any tips?Any advice or resources for creating or adapting a QSPI flash loader in IAR would be greatly ap

HiFor a project, we have switched from a M3 to a M0 microcontroller, which lacks the SWO that we used in production. We now want to connect the SWO pin of the debug connector to UART TX and use an external adapter to read it out. My question is, what would happen if we connected the debugger (ST-Link V2/3) without the adapter and the SWO trace received a (3.3 V) UART signal?
