ST visual Develop Version 4.3.12!  running on Windows 10.I have set this up with the Cosmic toolkit and can build images for my ST8 processor but can I run the simulator without STLink?Apologies for such a newbie question - first time I've tried to develop anything for this processor so happy to receive "go read this responses" :-).Papadeltasierra.

Hi,I do not grasp the STM8S103 interrupt priority philosophy. Each Io-port can be assigned to 1 out of 4 priority levels called level 0, 1, 2 and 3 page 68/467 of the RM0016 reference manual meaning highest number is handled first. I connect a slow square wave to ports D pin 4 (PD4) and to port A pin 1 (PA1). Each corresponding low going edge interrupt handler sends character ‘D’ or ‘A’ through a software uart to my serial monitor. So each few seconds I see ‘AD’ or ‘DA’ appear in my monitor depending on interrupt priority settings. Setting port A/D to level 0/1 shows ‘DA’, even so with 1/2 and 2/3, that's okay. But setting 0/3 and 3/0 shows ‘AD’. What does it mean on page 68 at level 3 = “software priority disabled”? Does it mean lowest priority? Why does setting 3/0 not send ‘DA’ as port A priority is disabled (level 3) and port D priority is set to level 0?

ST VP Configuration - ST-Link - USB - SWIM - STM8S103F3I have connected the "SWIM" and "GND" pins of 'ST-LINK V2' to the development PCB includes "STM8S103F3", the supply from the mobile charger is connected through the USB port of the PCB.When I select 'Read all tabs', the message is shown as "Can't communicate with the device".Then I turned the power off and on by pressing the reset button low.When I tried to read the device, the message showed as "Device is protected".The LED is flashing in every condition.Each time the dongle LED glows initially, then flashes and then turns off.what is wrong? how to solve?

I am trying to modify my s19 file which is generated for stm8 using stvd and cosmic c compiler. Consider an S19 file which starts from 0x4000 address [EEPROM starting address]The first two lines would be : S123400000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000009CS123402000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000007CI want to know what is the meaning of the first characters S123 and the last byte 9C/7C etc. This is important for me to understand the logic to modify the s19 accordingly.  

Hi, I have bought the parts STM8L151F3U6TR. The marking indicated in datasheet is L526. However, marking on component is L536. Anyone can confirm this marking of L536 is correct? 

Hi all.I'm struggling with certain device and I'd like to identify unknown TSSOP-20 chip on the PCB. Chip must be an MCU and based on the pinout it's very close to some STM8, eg. STM8AF6213. There are VCC and GND connected to Pin 9 and 7 respectively, and there is also kind of debugging header nearby and its two pins are connected to pins 4 and 18 of my unknown chip which seems like NRST/SWIM on STM8 chip.But, problem starts here - my device has pins 5 and 6 connected to analog signals (from potentiometers) and STM8AFxxxx do not have ADin(s) on pins 5 and 6...At least i was unable to find such a chip.I'm not very familiar with STM8 and maybe my unknown chip is some legacy/deprecated chip so that's my question. Are you aware of some STM MCU where VCC, GND, RST and Debug iface is on 9,7,4 and 18 pin respectively (for TSSOP-20 package) and pins 5,6 are Analog IN???Many thanks!!!

Hello,STM8S208RB microcontroller, Independent watchdog (IWDG). After starting the watchdog timer (command KEY_ENABLE value = 0xCC), I understand that the watchdog timer stops after resetting the microcontroller. The default register state is undefined (see figure below). Could it be that after resetting the microcontroller the watchdog timer will be turned on? How can a watchdog timer be stopped while a program is running on a microcontroller? The key register (IWDG_KR) does not have a watchdog stop command (see figure below).

It generates power automatically and can only last for 10ms. The voltage remains at 3.3V for about 4ms, and the remaining 6ms remains above 1.8V, which is enough for the normal operation of the STM8S005K6T6 .I have to make sure that the STM8S005K6T6 sends data over the cc1101 within a 10ms window. To keep things simple, on power-up, I just initialize the SPI, the button's GPIO, and the cc1101, and enable interrupts. To save time, the hardware is configured with a direct short circuit on the button to simulate continuous button presses. Hi Everyone,I am measuring an Ac voltage which is biased on 2.5v dc on stm8s003f3. The input is coming from an op-amp. My problem is I am not getting a stable ADC value. there is always 2 3 point ADC fluctuation which ultimately fluctuates the AC voltage that I am measuring. I measure the minimum and maximum peak of the signal with 100 samples and then take an average of min and max with 30 samples. But still, I get fluctuation. For example, if the peak adc at 100 v is 630 I get a 630, 626, 634 wise sample. My hardware is OK as the same hardware is already working fine with someone else coded.I would appreciate it if you suggest to me how to get stable ADC values.Thanks

Hello,I had to copy a project that was built on another system in ST visual develop to my PC. I am able to open this workspace (.stw) and project (.stp) in my PC and build successfully. But, when I try to use the "Go to definition" feature or search for a word in the files, it is giving the following error in the tools section:gcc: 2: No such file or directoryWhat could be the problem? I'm trying to jump from the Arduino realm to STM8 realm and setting this software up is brutal going through company IT. They won't give me admin rights and I'm wondering if that is why I can't edit a simple stm8.h files to uncomment out my particular MCU. I'm using the STM8-so8-Disco discovery board and all I wanted to do was change the delay rates of the LED setting, but I can't change anything in the demo files. I found a step by step setup process and I'm walking through that online, Starting STM8 Microcontrollers | Embedded Lab (embedded-lab.com) but that says you need to load the library files and edit the stm8s.h file to uncomment the particular MCU you are using, but I cannot do that either. I've tried everything I can think of but I'm starting to wonder if it might be caused by the fact that my IT group won't let me have admin r

Hi,I'm having some issues getting code to actually run on the mcu. The power on reset doesn't appear to work, and I have to trigger an external reset via tying the NRST pin low to get the program to run. Cosmic + STVD was used, and STVP was used for upload, if that helps.
