Hi there,We want to use the VL53L4CX ToF sensor and I want to build the out of tree kernel module for the STSW-IMG031 (here) via Yocto recipe. hello Team,                   I am using your sensor VL53L0X distance sensor in my project. I have four sensor tile STWINKT1B kits. I want to simultaneously capture accelerometer, temperature, and acoustic data from all the kits and set up an integrated dashboard. Further, I also want to extend this project by creating an IOT Hub using either IBM Watson or Microsoft Azure. Can someone help me with the same? I'm a bit new to this domain.

I guess this is a weird question. I am not really interested in the classifying part of the MLC but I am interested in its feature selection capability, I would like to know if it is possible to perform feature extraction calculation on the data stored in FIFO and somehow get access to those calculated feature values,With Unico I know all those values are stored in the .arff file, but I am wondering are there functions that I can call to do feature calculations on data that is already in FIFO and then store the values in a buffer?Cheers,WIlliam

I am using NUCLEO_F401RE + X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1 with MEMS Studio software. X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1 offers multiple various bus configurations, including the sensor hub mode for LSM6DSO16IS.However, only in standard I2C mode can we establish the connection in MEMS Studio. If using the sensor hub mode, there will be WHO_AM_I warning and connection cannot be setup.The issue doesn't appear in Unicleo-GUI since we can disable the sensor affected, but in MEMS Studio, the option cannot be changed.  

I am using the VL53L5CX to measure the water level of a sewer tank. More info about geometry setup and environment further down or here.I need to range from 0.5 to 2 meters and am also dependent on further lateral measurements than just the center spads. Therefore I need the 8x8 pixel matrix.It looks like I do not get any signal (checked the kcps/spads signal strength) beyond roughly 0.7 meters. I was able to measure distances beyond 2 meters at home, pointing the sensor to a white wall.I therefore was wondering if there are any settings in the sensor that I can use to increase the range? I do not need a high sensing frequency. I know its a demanding job to measure water levels. Hi,I am currently using a STM32L476 with a LIS2MDL, I need to apply a calibration along only 1 axis for the magnetometer, as the system can not be rotated along the others axis.I was wondering if there is ready made solution/library to do it?Thank you in advance for the help or any ints  

Hello,I have an issue related to LIS2DW12 wake up interrupt. When reading the wake interrupt src it is showing that wake up interrupt is being triggered I am getting value in loop from software interrupt. But after enabling interrupt on INT1 pin I am not getting interrupt over INT1 pin. It's being kept at 0.00 volts. Hi,I am trying to read data in continuous mode from the LIS2MDL on a personal board with the help of the exemple(https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STMems_Standard_C_drivers/tree/master/lis2mdl_STdC/examples) and driver (https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/lis2mdl-pid/tree/56a8a1ddb1bd21d98151372b5fa4f48ffa9e1a39).I am able to retrieve the ID of the chip and configure it in continous mod.But the problem is that the data ready register always return 0x00.

+I'm a beginner. I used the STM32 CubeIDE to compile and used the SPI of the Nucleo-F446RE to connect to the LSM9DS1. I want to read the data of its accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer, and use the field expression function to observe it. I found that the value read by it will keep beating without moving the LSM9DS1 and my magnetometer will not respond. How many data points are necessary to build a reliable machine learning model (with mlc)? Is there a point where adding more data no longer significantly improves the model's performance?

I have to work on a project that includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer. For the first two, I would like to use the LSM6DSV16X sensor, but I haven't yet chosen a magnetometer.1) Do you have any recommendations for one that would work well with the LSM6DSV16X?2) Is it possible to synchronize the sampling between the LSM6DSV16X and the magnetometer?

"I'm using the VL53L8CX sensor, the en.X-CUBE-TOF1 example, specifically from NUCLE -F401RE\Examples\53L8A1\53L8A1_SimpleRanging. The data reads correctly,and I have verified the outputs. However, when the INT pin goes low and triggers an interrupt, it takes about 16ms to read the data.I measured this time by toggling a GPIO pin before and after the read function. Even after adjusting various settings, the read time remains similar.I am using an I2C speed of 400kHz.Is this typical for the read operation? We are conducting research using 9 IIS2MDC sensors to detect the position of a magnetic material (e.g., N52 grade neodymium magnet). Since we expect the distance between the magnetic material and the sensors to be large, the sensors need to accurately detect the magnitude and direction of the magnetic field generated by the material. However, we have identified that the IIS2MDC sensors we are using have an error margin of approximately ±1300 mG, and we are encountering the following issues: 1. The offset indicated in the datasheet is approximately ±60 mG. However, even after completely removing the influence of the magnetic material, the initial magnetic field values measured by each sensor still range from 0 to 1000 mG. Since these initial values vary between sensors, we predict that this is not due to the Earth's magnetic field. We are curious about the possible cause of this.   2. Hi, we are using the STEVAL-CAM-M0I board to evaluate the 55G0 protomodule.I have it connected to a raspberry pi CM4 IO breakout board, to the CAM1 CSI-2 interface.There is a provided driver, etc for this from ST, but it appears the pinout is not 1:1. But most of the documentation shows the eval board connecting directly to a raspberry pi. So I am wondering where does the issue lie here? Is the RST controlled by the GPIO, or am I missing something about the compatibility?It was attractive because we didn't need to make an interface board.I see the Reset pin and the Cam GPIO pins are swapped, along with the data lines. Hi!I have two short questions regarding the dynamic SPAD selection happening on the VL53L1 sensor discussed previously here:- Is there a minimum number of SPADs after the selection? As in, by utilizing a 4x4 region, should I expect no oscillations (the ones I showed on the other post) due to the selection?- Is there a direct way to find which specific SPADs are being used after the selection? So I could use it to troubleshoot if the weird distance measurements were caused by it or other factors I didn't take into account.Thanks in advance!

I have been using GetResult method of grabbing the sensor reading.  It returns this structure: typedef struct {uint8_t Status; /*!< ResultStatus */uint16_t Distance; /*!< ResultDistance */uint16_t Ambient; /*!< ResultAmbient */uint16_t SigPerSPAD;/*!< ResultSignalPerSPAD */uint16_t NumSPADs; /*!< ResultNumSPADs */} VL53L1X_Result_t; Using this approach I noticed something I might not have noticed otherwise.  The closer the object the smaller NumSPADs becomes.  For instance,  an object right up on the sensor which will read 0 mm appears to be using only 1 SPAD.  As I move the object further away NumSPADs increases.  I would like to know if this is expected behaviour? I use the ROI 4x4 at boot time and at Ranging time so until now I didn't expect the number of SPADs to be anything else other than 4x4(=16)?

I am working on a motion sensing device currently in production using a LIS2DH12 accelerometer and want to apply machine learning to the product. This is an older part with no machine learning core (MLC) onboard so can only provide motion data to the host processor (nrf52840) where a model might reside for inferencing motion classes.I am new to MEMS Studio so still learning about its capabilities but have looked at Edge Impulse to create models for execution on host and looks very usable. I use IAR for the IDE and it can generate linkable models within IAR projects - very convenient.My question is can I use MEMS Studio to create a model and run on the host instead of the sensor itself?- Edwin

I work for a company that has used this IMU for some of the new designs (we have currently assembled and tested +1000 units with ASM330LHH) and we have noticed that some of the units (around 10 %), are presenting a strange behaviour when subjecting them to temperature cycles, the effect has only been noticed in X and Y axes, never in Z. Here is a plot of the behaviour: The x-axis of the graphs represent the incremental samples, and the y-axis in the left-hand side represents the raw decimal number read in the 16-bit registers. The y-axis in the right-hand side is the temperature in ºC.The unit is completely static in a controlled environment, a temperature chamber. There is evidence that there has not been any physical motion during the peaks, due to the information provided by additional accelerometers in the same PCB. I'm doing a 4D orientation detection FSM on the ISM330BX. There is no example for this IMU so I'm following the examples for some of the other IMUs. That is fine and the code works, but what I can't work out is how to calculate the THRESH1 value and get it to agree with the value displayed in MEMS-Studio.As shown in the attached screenshot, 0x3A66 (14950 in decimal) is shown as 0.8 g in MEMS-Studio for the ISM330BX, but if I work it out:Value in g = 14950 x 0.000061 g/LSB = 0.913 gAny ideas on what I am misunderstanding?It doesn't really matter from a FSM perspective whether THRESH1 = 0.8 or 0.91 g but still...

Hello.I’m utilizing the VL53L1 sensor to measure water level inside of a closed water bucket.While using a 30cm tall white bucket half full, with the VL53L1 positioned at the top aiming down at the air-water interface, the sensor sometimes outputs incorrect distance values for long periods of time. During one test run, the sensor spent almost half an hour outputting distance values oscillating within a 1,5cm range around the real distance value, later stabilizing on the correct distance value. This kind of issue has happened multiple times already on similar tests.Given the water level and surface is completely static, I was wondering whether there are any minimum range limitations, given I’m measuring distance to a liquid and also utilizing a small recipient. The only minimum distance information I was able to find on the sensor’s datasheet is its 4cm minimum guaranteed ranging system.Thanks in advance.

Hello,Basically i am trying to measure distance to a hand that moves above the sensor, returned distance is used to light leds approximately at hand height. My problem is that hand is probably to small object or its reflectivity is not enough that above 1 meter with VL53l1x and above 1,7m at best with VL53l3x the hand disappears and i am out of ideas how or if even is it possible to improve range so i can detect the hand over 2m distance.there will eventually be mirrors behind the hand, but at this point I don't think it will affect the results.Any ideas that can help me with this project??Best regards!
