Posted on October 10, 2017 at 21:50 Do CS_XL and CS_MAG have an internal pulldown so if they are left floating there are no issues?Will it hurt the part if INT_1_XL and INT_2_XL are connected to 0V as long as we don�t try to use them? What happens if we do tell them to be used will this hurt the part? #lsm303agr

Posted on October 11, 2017 at 11:12 I'm testing a LIS3MDL magnetic field sensor using an Arduino Pro mini.The Arduino IDE has a library for Pololu LIS3MDL module and example codes as well. I connected the sensor module to the Arduino via I2C and ran an example program. The program is supposed to read the magnitude of the magnetic field in x, y, z axes with the sensor and to send the readings to PC via UART. The program is working fine, except that I see fluctuations in the readings. The sensor module is laid on my desk and is about 1m from desktop. The following is a set of readings that I received from the sensor. Posted on October 08, 2017 at 06:56I am attempting to communicate with a LIS3MDL through the SPI interface, yet I am unable to get a single, valid response back. Moreover, the responses I am getting violate the setup and hold times on the SPI interface. You can see from the following image that I am attempting to read from the LIS3MDL's WHO_AM_I register (address: 0x0F; expected: 0x3D), but I am getting garbage out. Moreover, the output from the LIS3MDL is transitioning at the rising and negative edges of SCLK! I have the LIS3MDL breakout board (STEVAL-MKI137V1) so I expect the hardware should be solderd properly. Any other suggestions or anyone having a similar issue?

The problem is that, when i enable the 'data ready interrupt'(INT_DRDY_XL) and read and printf STATUS_REG, to see whether one or more interrupts have been generated, it gives me back 0b00000101 . Posted on October 07, 2017 at 20:45Hello,I am using a Pololu Minimu9 v5. I successfully did a self test of the LIS3MDL 3-axis magnetometer and now I am trying to self test the LSM6DS33 with the procedure mentioned in the application note. My test appears to fail each time. I don't know if it is my method or if the sensor has malfunctioned. What is the proper implementation of the self test? Is there anything you can do to readjust sensor to optimal functionality?#self-test #lsm6ds33 #accelerometer

I believe I have the interrupt configured properly (active high, out on INT1) as I can see it (both the wake and sleep conditions) on an oscilloscope and the MCU receives and processes the interrupt as expected. I'm looking for a way to check/verify if the address on one of the sensors is already set to what I want to set it to (before I try to set it, obviously). My idea was to check a register on the sensor before I try changing anything, but I've found that ST does not provide registers for this sensor so that's out of the question, and its depleted all my ideas. Anyone know how I can try this?The reason I ask is sometimes I re-flash my code to the board without power cycling the board (therefore the sensors do not power cycle), and that causes an issue when I try to change the address of a sensor that has already had its address changed.#vl53l0x #nrf52

Posted on October 05, 2017 at 11:35Hello all, I'm working with the rc522 rfid reader for a project. However the range of rc522 is only about 4-5 inches. I want read range of about 1 metre. I have read about a method to increase the range by connecting an antenna to the output of rc522. But I'm unable to implement the antenna design properly. Is there any other method to increase the read range?  Or please suggest me a design procedure for the antenna.

I want to use the Stream-to-FIFO mode, and I want INT1 to trigger when one of the acceleration axis is above the threshold. I have configured the LIS2DH12 registers to perform this.Then i do this: I initialialize all the registerI trigger the interruptI read all the data in the FIFOWhen the FIFO is empty (0x20 in FIFO_SRC_REG ) I read the INT1_SRC  in order to clear the IA bit, and I read 0x15.After this the FIFO still empty and the LIS2DH12 doesn't fill him, do you have an idea why the FIFO doesn't return in stream mode?ps: INT_1 is latched, but reading INT1_SRC must clear it.#interrupts #lis2dh12 #stream-to-fifo

Posted on March 22, 2017 at 10:40Hi,I'm working with H3LIS331DL MEMS sensor. I read the IC datasheet many times, but I still have some doubts on how to configure it. In particular I ask you: INT_THS register: it is a 7bit threshold while data is a 12bit value. This means the threshold resolution is lower? I have 2^7 level from 0 to Full Scale value? Am I right?INT_DUR register: datasheet says duration step depends on ODR chosen. This means if I set a INT_DUR = 0x0A and ODR=1000 duration is 10ms, while if ODR is 10 (low power) duration is 1sec? Am I rigth?INT_CFG register: ZHIE=1 means interrupt will fire when |acceleration| > Threshold while ZLIE=1 means interrupt will fire when |acceleration| < Threshold. Im trying out the ST standard component driver for LIS2DH12 (LIS2DH12_ACC_driver.c) I have added it to my project but  compiler kicks out a undefined symbol error. Posted on September 26, 2017 at 22:07I am using the code from STM32CubeFunctionPack_MOTENV1_V3.0.0 for sensor tile.Initial I used the STlink to load the 'Projects\Multi\Applications\MOTENV1\Binary\STM32L476RG-SensorTile' MOTENV1_ST_BL.hex.Then connect to the ST BlueMS.When I trying out the 'Firmware upgrade' OTA feature in the Apps.I select the 'MOTENV1_ST.bin' and copy it to the Phone.Tried a few times of the OTA procedure and it always fail at the end 'Error sending the data'.Is the binary file used on Phone for OTA correct ??Regards,Felix

But I would like to integrate the output from the motherboard through LabView. Posted on September 24, 2017 at 09:45We have a problem when use full fifo flag and when interrupt happend and we read FIFO flag FTH clears and process start again. When set interrupt on threshold of the FIFO and it happens when read that part of FIFO but flag FTH doesnt clean so interrant never happend again only that once. Chip is LSM6DS3H. Thank you.
