Posted on November 17, 2017 at 22:11I am unable to generate an interrupt on INT2 pin. But I can generate an interrupt with the same configuration on INT1 pin. Seems like I am missing something obvious or the datasheet is missing something crucial!!I am trying to detect a 180-degree flip from Z-axis. On a flat surface, Z-axis pointing upwards gives me approx +1g (decimal 65 with FS = 2). 180 flip will give me a negative value. Here is the configuration that worked on INT1 pin. In table below is shown configuration whitch I use.I use interrupt on fifo treshold on int 1 pin to start read fifo (procedure below). Can someone guide me how to improve the reliability of both gyroscope and accelerometer (mainly gyroscope). Posted on November 19, 2017 at 00:05I can't get the FIFO to work. The LSM6DSM is connected to a microcontroller via SPI. The sensor works fine when I use the status register and data registers to get the accel and gyro data.But for higher ODR I want to use the FIFO to read the data in bursts of 10 data sets each. It looks like it would work properly, I do get the WaterM flag when there are 60 words in the FIFO and it takes the appropriate time for the flag to return after reading. But the data is useless. It is always the sate static data which has nothing to do with the actual sensor data.The FIFO runs in continuous mode (110), FIFO ODR 6.66 kHz. Threshold is set to 60 (dec), accel and gyro are set to no decimation, 3rd and 4th data set are off as are all other options. I read FIFO_Status1 to check the WaterM flag and check FIFO_Status3 to see if the pattern is zero. Both accel and gyro run at the same ODR.Reading is done by sending

Posted on November 17, 2017 at 22:41What is the expected self test difference values that should be expected? The spec indicates between 70 mg  and 1500 mg which seems like a very large range. Most other ST sensors has this value in a few hundred mg's, and it appears to be the same (a few hundred mg's) when actually doing a self test on the LIS2DS12. #lis2ds12

Posted on May 23, 2017 at 17:04Hi,  I am working with the Lsm9ds0 sensor and i would like to properly configure the Click recognition. After reading the datasheet I manage to rise an interrupt on a click but i still have a question about this functionality:     What is the unit of the threshold on the CLICK_THS register, is it 16 mg per LSB as in the Act_THS register or is    depending of the range of the accelerometer ? Secondly I would like to configure a High-Pass filter in order to reduce the noises on my click detection. It seems to be possible using the CTRL_REG0_XM, REFERENCE_X and REFERENCE_Y registers.                                    

Posted on November 17, 2017 at 14:02Hello,I'm trying to design device with all components powered by li-po battery to minimize the power losses, cost and SIZE.I'd like to avoid voltage regulator, level shifters etc.This sensors should be powered up to 3.6 V, but the maximum ratings are high above @ 4.8V.Would it be possible to power LIS3DH with voltage up to 4.2 V?Is anybody using these sensors @ 4.2 V ?Thank you in advance.

I tried to active an interrupt in the idea to check movement in any direction (i just want an interrupt if the device is moving). It doesn't work but worst when I read the register of the acceleration i have always the same values (exactly the same even when moving, reversed, ...). I guess I have made some mistakes in my configuration but I was not able to find where is the problem. Just below my pseudo-code. I don't understand the reading procedure.Do I need to start reading from FIFO_READ_START and continue reading 6 bytes and then initiate another reading from FIFO_READ_START? orDo I need to read  OUT_X_H (2bytes),  OUT_Y_H(2bytes) and  OUT_Z_H(2bytes) and continue till I read all 32 levels?

Posted on November 03, 2017 at 13:15We are working with the LSM9DS1 and I would like to know if it is normal to obtain very large offsets for the zero-gauss level, and completely different offsets on different sensors (same PCB design).I previously worked on the LSM303D (which is now NRND), and the magnetic offsets obtained with our calibration procedure were very small, and allowed us to use the LSM303D without magnetometer calibration.On the LSM9DS1, I obtain offset values of up to 0.38 gauss (about the intensity of the earth magnetic field at my location). In addition, the offset values are very different from one sensor to another. In the end, I think the communication was the bottleneck in terms of overall performance and I'm wondering how more experienced people would have solved this problem. I'm wondering if it is doing an average based on the decimation factor? or is it just pick out one of the dataset within the decimation factor 'window'?

(and the interrupt pins are pulled up to another supply voltage) and the VDD is still connected to 1,8V ? Will the VDD voltage still control the open-drain pins or is it completely fed by the VDDIO voltage?#lis2dw12
