Please help with the details.I successfully run the DataLogFusion example in Nucleo-F401RE and X-NUCLEO-IKS01A2. But when I try to use MotionFX lib in my custom board project, I get this issue.In debug session, the program could not STEP OVER the function - MotionFX_initialize().Using1. Posted on October 26, 2017 at 20:54What exactly do the INT_SEL and OUT_SEL do? I look at the table and it's a bit confusing.Do choosing '00' for OUT_SEL means I'm putting the gyro data without HPF and LPF2 into the FIFO, and '11' means with HPF and LPF2?Does it mean that if I choose '00' for OUT_SEL and '11' in INT_SEL means the data use in FIFO and interrupt generator going to be different?#lsm9ds1

Posted on October 26, 2017 at 14:01I have been looking over the datasheet and AN3308 for the LIS3DH Accelerometer in the hope that I can find a clear and concise explanation of how to interpret and scale the data.So far I have seen (VALUE)*(FS/2^BIT_RESOLUTION) which intuitively makes sense but doesn't correspond to the sensitivity scalers mentioned in the datasheet:Low Power Mode:      { 2g = 16mg/digit, 4g = 32mg/digit, 8g = 64mg/digit, 16g = 192mg/digit }Normal Power Mode: { 2g = 4mg/digit,   4g = 8mg/digit,   8g = 16mg/digit, 16g = 148mg/digit }High Power Mode:     { 2g = 1mg/digit,   4g = 2mg/digit,   8g = 4mg/digit,   16g = 12mg/digit }Additionally to this I have seen some people state that the FIFO buffer is only capable of 10 bit resolution, which again contradicts the con

Posted on September 21, 2017 at 07:14Hi Guys, I'm planning on using the LSM9DS1 as a heading sensor on my board, and I was curious about the functionality of some of the pins - I couldn't find any detailed description in the datasheet.The pin description describes Pins 5,6 (SDO_A/G, SDO_M) as 'I2C least significant bit of the device address' for I2C mode - are these required if talking to the module in I2C mode? Also am I correct in assuming that pins 7,8 (CS_A/G, CS_M) just need to be pulled high externally to VDD_IO to enable I2C mode?And are pins 9 - 13 required or is it possible to just use the I2C bus to talk to the module and read back measurements etc? I'm guessing the interrupts would be handy to alert to a fall or something like that but would not necessarily be required? And I'm not sure the purpose of the Data Ready, Data Enable Pins?Many Thanks in advance!Dave#lsm9ds1

Posted on October 24, 2017 at 19:03Hello, I'm trying to perform self-test feature of the lis3dh, by following the insctruction identified in the appliacation-note  AN3308. the Self-test output change Obtained is geater than the maximum value identified in the datasheet. (between 4000 Lsb and 5000 Lsb, in datasheet this value should be between 17 Lsb and 300 Lsb).Any idea ?Thanks in advance for your support STCommunity. 

Posted on October 24, 2017 at 21:39Hello together,i used the stm linux driver files to create and load the driver module. This results in /dev/stmvl53l0x_ranging. I connected the vl53l0x sensor and the i2cdetect reports it under 0x29.I then wanted to use the vl53l0x_test program from stm files to get measured data, but for status, error and data the values are always zero.For opening and init the device, there was no error reported.It sees the software stucks after stop or init.Can someone help me please?Regards,Alex

Posted on November 07, 2013 at 19:32Hello, I need to configure a LSM330DLC in a way outlined in the DT0005 document.  Essentially, on data ready interrupts (INT1_A) from the accelerometer feed into the DEN_G pin, telling the gyro to push a conversion onto the gyro FIFO.  In this way, acceleration and gyro data are aligned (I think). In addition, I want to have a FIFO watermark interrupt as well as an interrupt to wake my board up upon movement. I believe I need to setup three interrupts sources: 1) INT1_A to be I1_DRDY1 (or is it I1_DRDY2?)  Which one does what? 2) INT2_A to fire upon a motion detection event.  I believe I see how to do this with INT1_A, but I need it to happen on INT2_A. 3) A FIFO watermark interrupt to fire from the gyro side (INT2_G).  This one I have figured out, but need INT1_A/DEN_G working before I can fully test it. Posted on October 20, 2017 at 10:46Hello all, my problem is the output of the x,y and z registers.The content of the registers change when moving, but only with fast movement. The values change during the acceleration. Unfortunately, after the movement the values fall back to the same value again.  The problem is, the values are the same in any orientation. My program accepts different values for x, y and z register in different positions, but the sensor doesn’t change these values. When the sensor is horizontal I accept g_z = 1, g_x = 0, g_y = 0  and when I turn it by 90 degrees I estimate g_z = 0, g_y = 1, g_x = 0 at least the values should be different. However the values are the same.Maybe I made some mistakes in the register settings or the sensor is not able to do this?????My register settings:Address    &nbs

Posted on October 23, 2017 at 20:22Hi, the datasheet for the LIS2DW12 3-axis accelerometer specifies a typical sensitivity of 1.952 mg/digit.What does that mean exactly? What digit are they talking about. The output is contained in two 8 bit registers to make a 16 bit value. Are they talking about 1.952 mg/bit instead? Or else what format is the 16 bit output number (digit?) presented in?Also it does not state what the actual bit depth is. OK, so the output is contained in a 16 bit number, but is the resolution 10, 12, 14 or 16 bits?

There is no explanation of what the allowable values are for bits HPCF[2:1] - high pass filter cutoff frequency selection.Does anyone have that information and/or know why STM chose to omit it from the datasheet?Thanks.

Posted on September 02, 2017 at 05:29Hi there, I am currently running 4 LIS3DH chips in SPI configuration, outputting accel data @ 12bit (high res) 200Hz, +/- 2gs configuration.The chips are not moving, and I noticed from the serial output terminal that the x,y,z acceleration value fluctuates in random intervals. The fluctuation applies throughout all of the LIS3DH chips, and is consistently scaled (up/down) by 2 on all acceleration axes output, in the same set of readings.(e.g. x:1.01 y:-0.06 z:9.50m/s^2 fluctuates to x:2.09 y:-0.25 z:19.08m/s^2 in the next data set).The raw value seems have this pattern of fluctuation as well (scaled by 2). (e.g. z raw: 15936 to 31424).  The code I am using can be found at https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_LIS3DH (Adafruit_LIS3DH.cpp).&n

On the datasheet, there is a diagram which shows gyro output structure roughly. Sensor latency and low pass filter types are not given. Is there anyone who knows the internal pattern of the sensor. I am new to hardware programming so I'm experiencing a lot of issues trying to read accelerometer and gyroscope signals. I am using 'ST Nucleo Board Support from Simulink Coder' (https://it.mathworks.com/hardware-support/st-nucleo.html ) . Do i need any kind of setup before reading from register addresses? Do I need to write some registers to set read mode? Posted on October 15, 2017 at 05:21Hi,   In out production process, the self-test function of LSM303D was taken to perform product testing. The Self-test was always OK when VDD was about 2.7V. However, we found that when the VDD was set to 3.3V, some LSM303Ds could not pass the self-test. It seemed than some times no differences could be observed with the self-test bit (AST) set to '0' and '1' when VDD set to 3.3V.   Is there anything wrong?With Regards#lsm303d-self-test
