Posted on June 14, 2016 at 20:48Hello. I am designing a smartwatch prototype and recently purchased the MKI159V1 which has the LSM9DS1. My company is still under construction. I noticed I am having a little trouble finding the link for the software download for the LSM9DS1. The closest one I find is the LSM9DS0, but would prefer the LSM9DS1 software download. Posted on June 13, 2016 at 17:33Can the VL6180x sensor work perfectly fine in both indoor and outdoor environments? Does the amount of light present in the environment affect the operation of the time of flight sensor? 

Posted on May 26, 2016 at 21:00I would like to use VL6180X more like a conventional proximity sensor where an output pin is active a target is within range, and the output is inactive when the target is outside the specified range. I don't see a way to do this without having an interrupt service.Is there a way?Will the VL52L0X have this ability?

Posted on May 26, 2016 at 11:39Hello everyone, I'm using the MEMS eval board STEVAl MKI 126V3 with four additional MP34DT01 microphone. I connect these cards to  my PC via USB using MKI138V1. My problem is that my PC recognize the USb audio device as a stera device, and not a 6 channell device. I'm able to see the real time signal of the 6 microphones in APworbench software. But since my PC considers only two channels, i can't records all the signals simultaneously using a mutlichannel recording software such as Audacity. Is there a driver or something i need to install to get my PC to considers all the channels ? My guess is that when i plug in the usb card, it's first in PDM Capture mode, using the two channels of MKI138V1. Then I use APworkbench to switch to I2S IN mode. Has osmeone already met and solved this issu ? #mdtp34dt01-driver-mki126-mems

Posted on May 24, 2016 at 03:18Hi all, I recently designed a new PCB board for the LSM303DLHC Tilt-compensated compass ( please see attachment). I soldered everything onto the board and connected it to the microcontroller to test it, the raw data obtained from  the sensor fluctuated and never went into the stable state. I am pretty sure the software that talk to the sensor is 100% working as I also tested with a  sensor dev kit purchased from adafruit .   so I just wonder if there is something wrong with my design. #pcb-guidelines

Posted on May 03, 2016 at 18:14Hi, I'm using a stm32f469 disco board and a x-nucleo-iks01a1 extension board and I'm trying to set some of the control bits. I'm able to read all registers over i2c without any problems. But if i try to write any of the control registers nothing is changed. i also read that i have to enable the sensor by setting the corresponding bit, which of course doesn't work for me either. The sensor is set to one shot mode (which i want to change) and until i disconnect and reconnect the power supply i always get the same value. the temp-value is correct and the sensor changes its reading if i warm the chip up by my finger (and dis-/reconnect the power). I think i read all documentation and i couldn't find any mysterious procedure to go through before configuring the sensor... Cheers, --Jens #hts221 #control-register

Posted on May 16, 2016 at 23:36Greetings, I'm trying to use a Cypress CY8C4247 microcontroller to communicate with an ST Accelerometer (IIS328DQ) and getting nowhere. I have the SPI configured for 1MHz communication, standard Motorola SPI with data captured on rising edge of clock. I've verified and re-verified my wiring between the Cypress eval board and the STEVAL-MKI170V1 (essentially just a breakout board of said device). I'm transmitting one byte of data = 0x8F (1 0 0 0 1 1 1 1) to read the 0x0F (WHO_AM_I) register. I see the data going out on the MOSI line but nothing coming back on the MISO line. I also tried configuring the CTRL_REG_1 register first to force the part to stay awake but that had no effect. In the attached screenshot, yellow is the SS, green is the CLK, red is the MOSI, and purple is the MISO. Everything looks right to me but maybe I'm missing something simple. I have ctrl_reg1 set as 01000000, ctrl reg 2 set as 00011000, and everything else as default. I am using a 1MHz SPI clock and a CS pin (low - active). I then write to the pressure_XL register and retrieve the first byte then consecutively retrieve the L and H bytes using the iterative data collecting (ctrl_reg2 enabled).i am operating at 2.5V and am correctly sending the right bytes (measured the outputs of my microcontroller)Why am I getting no response?

Posted on April 14, 2016 at 13:15Hello, I need info about the LIS331DLHTR selftest process.The current ranges mentioned are in LSb ,which i suppose are ADC counts. i try to compute the self test ranges for x,y,z  by using self_val(selftest enabled) - no_self_val(selftest disabled)  , i am unable to get those values in specified range of 120(Min) and 550(Max) in LSb units . Is there something am missing? Should the range be treated in any other format say like hex? Please help.

Posted on April 06, 2016 at 15:52Hello, new in this pressure are, for absolute pressure measurement. is the LPS25HB in free air will give 760hpar reading? for example, if I put it in a flat balloon, the reading will be 760hpar, if I start to blow the balloon, then the reading increase from 760hpar. is this the way absolute pressure works. All output I have come across have been to 1mm so is this an inherent characteristic of the sensor or is it rounded? Posted on April 02, 2016 at 14:33Hi all!I've been testing for a few days the behaviour of the magnetic sensor and its interrupt capabilities. Offset registers simply are subtracted to the magnetic field measured on all of three axis and threshold register is the value after which the interrupt rises. If the chip has enabled interrupts on three axis the recognition interrupt rises only for the first magnetic field that exceed the threshold and once this happens others axis are ignored. If the interrupt rises for the z-axis, for example, the field on the x-axis can exceed threshold and interrupt don't rises.question 2: if i set single conversion and enable data ready interrupt, the status_m register is always read as 0 (not in continuous conversion). I'm excepting that data ready on x, y, z bit of the status_m register are set when conversion finished and interrupt rise (interrupt rise correctly). Why? #lsm303d-interr

Tried to compare with LIS302DL documentation that at least explein what single or double click are, but still nothing about how to set up an accelerometer interruption. Is there valid and mature documentation ?
