I have an application that requires two STHS34PF80 sensors on the same I2C bus. I tried using N-FETs on the SDA lines to select between them but this doesn't work, not sure why. I will try the 3-wire SPI bus but I am not sure my current MCU API suports this without some development. I would like to know how the chip select works. If the STHS34PF80 is on an I2C bus but the CS pin is held LOW, does it simply ignore any activity on the SDA or SCL lines? In other words, can I use the CS pin on the STHS34PF80 as an I2C chip select, toggling between one or the other to configure or read data via I2C? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Hello Community!We are building a Condition monitoring platform, and need to interface a MEMS based Accelerometer with the STM32G4 at a distance of 3M. I would like to know if someone has had first-hand experience using Quad Differential Drivers & Receivers for transmitting the SPI over Differential line & then interfacing the TTL with STM32.Also feel free to suggest to me any alternative approach for transmitting SPI over a distance of 2-3m. Data rates are low (6KB/s) & one way from the sensor to the MCU. Can anyone tell me how to understand the following parameter out of the AIS2DW12 datasheet.Zero-g level offset accuracy, long term: ± 700mgWhen i use the sensor with a resolution of ± 2g, then I hope there ist not the possibility that the offset will drift this far.  

Hello everybody,In the AN5038 it is well described how to setup the internal state machine to detect activity, but it has does not fit my need:If I have my  product in my hand, I want detect slow motion in 3 XYZ axes, but if my product is on my desk and I hit the desk with my hand, I do not want it to detect it.and right now, what I have is the opposite, any idea where to start from? I do not have any external CPU, I want to use the internal state machine only. 

Hi, I am trying to integrate LSM6DSO in an iOT and would like the LSM6DSO raise wake up interruption when iOT is moved (with a normal movement). Now my problem is the following :I programed my interruption and it's run. I can detect the motion on my iOT. BUT now the iOT is also sensitive to neighboring vibrations (If I put my iOT on a table and with one finger make a vibration on the other side of the table the iOT is wake up).I would like to avoid this. I try to set different parameter with WAKE_UP_DUR and WAKE_UP_THS but nothing give me satisfaction for now. What is the best configuration to avoid these neighboring vibration and wakeup my iOT only when it is really moved ?Thanks 

Hi,We have achieved lowest current consumption(5.5uA) in power down mode as per datasheet with the pin configuration.Now we are trying to wake up from power down mode,By enabling the accelerometer CTRL1_XL register-101_Value ,but still module is in power down modeplease let us know the correct wake up procedure from power down mode, without clearing the existing registers.Thank you.

IT IS WORKING WELL , I NEED INSIGHT ON HOW I COULD RESET THE STEP VALUE TO ZERO ON THE BUTTON INTERRUPT

Hi experts,I am working with the LIS2DW12 accelerometer and the AN5038 document mentions the function to calculate the output values of the axis. 2g is mentioned, but what about 4g, 8g and 16g? Is the factor "4" the same for all scales?Thank you in advance.Best regards,Tania 

Hello,I’m probably missing something obvious but I don't understand how the return-to-sleep duration can be calculated using the equation in Section 8.34 of the datasheet.I’m also confused regarding how the ACT_DUR time is used for sleep-to-wake. AN5005 Section 10 shows no delay, except waiting for the next ODR period, for wake up to occur.What effect does the ACT_DUR register setting have on sleep-to-wake? Does Section 10 show a duration of zero and if a duration is set in ACT_DUR then the activity must exceed the threshold for the entire duration that is set?Thank you!Regards,John M.

I am using a X-NUCLEO-CCA02M2 shield with the Nucleo F401RE board. When I try to run the Microphones_streaming example in mono mode, decimation factor set to 48 (by changing the PDM_Clock_Freq to 768), for any sampling rate, the PDM_Filter function throws a hard fault. Hello all,We are facing some issue with the LIS2DH12 accelerometer. When the board is powered-up, the accelerometer is booted with the configuration shown below, and in some of the boards, the accelerometer suddenly starts to read 0 in the OUT registers (all axes) and stops sending the interruption when the accelerometer is shaken, it can pass few hours or few days until it occurs. In this situation the device answers without problems to I2C commands, and the config registers remain in the same value. We want to compare the performance of LSM6DSV16BX and ISM330DLC,to do this we need bias instability and random walk of both gyro and accelerometer. Unfortunately these parameters are not specified in datasheet, Please sent us the parameters bias instability and random walk of both gyro and acclerometer to define or calculate the position drift.

Hi..  Im working on an application attempting to use the LPS22HHTR.  I see in the specs the table of absolute max ratings, but I wasn't able to find a parameter for the low end.  In this application there can be occasions where the line falls below 260 hPa for brief periods.  I am not concerned about being able to get a reading at these levels but rather an understanding how far into vacuum ( or below 260hPa) the device can go before failure.  Any guidance is appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi!I am using a Nucleo-L476RG / X-Nucleo-IKS01A3 / STEVAL-MKI1197V1 setup to get into the LSM6DSO and LSM6DSOX. I did some tests with both of them based on Algobuilder and Unicleo with the DataLogExtended example.I recognized the following: When I use an interrupt to generate a data-ready signal the frequency of the INT is not exactly matching my ODR configuration.I tested with 52hz ODR and for the LSM6DSO the rising edge of the interrupt is generated at about 50.7hz and for the LSM6DSOX the interrupt is generated at about 49.5hzI did those measurements with a Chip Timer and with a logic analyzer with high performance mode enabled on the sensor.I could not find information in the datasheet about the precision of the ODR or the interrupt. Can you confirm that there is a difference between the configured and the actual ODR? If yes, is there information about the potential range? Or is there maybe something that I di

I am using the LIS2DTW12 accelerometer in an inclinometer (tilt & roll) application. We have encountered some issues with accuracy and stability of the device in this application. All tests were performed with the device mounted statically, approximately horizontal (though the package is upside down) and at constant room temperature. The LIS2DTW12 is running at 3.3V. STMicro factory calibration of this device appears to be performed at 1.8V, but I expect any deviation due to VDD would result in different offset &/or gain (which would be static in a horizontal orientation with constant temperature). The LIS2DTW12 is configured for I2C comms, 2g full-scale, 12.5Hz, 12-bit (LP Mode 1), with BDU set (output not updated until MSB & LSB read). A soft reset is performed on power up. Initialization was tried both with & without the 'BOOT' bit set (forced reload of factory trimming).Monitoring over hours (see graphs below), we see both 'dithering' (small, high frequenc

Hi ST,I have an custom board using the ISM330DLC but I'm having difficulty configuring it's primary bus for 3-wire SPI operation.According to the ISM330DLC datasheet register CTRL3_C (0x12) must set to 0xC for 3-wire primary bus SPI mode to be enabled.As can be seen from the following scope trace 0x0C is written to 0x12.But when the 'Who Am I' register (0x0F) is read back 0x00 is received.From the above I'm assuming that the CTRL3_C (0x12)

Hello,I'm currently choosing a microphone in ST range and I wonder about the difference between those 2.The only differences I saw on datasheets are application types but no technical differences.Can you explain why technically some microphones are more suitable for some applications or others?Also, maybe I missed some other differences. ThanksJulien
