STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

We have a custom board using STM32H750IB and a single QSPI flash memory MT25TL01G. The QSPI pin for the flash memory is the same as STM32H750B-DK board, which is PF10 for CLK, PG6 for CS, PD11/PF9/PF6/PF7 for IO0-3. I saw several posts mentioned the external flash loader for this configuration; can anybody share the source code or the flash loader file? I would like to test UART Bootloader on my NUCLEO-C092RC.System Bootloader mode can be selected pressing the BOOT (B3) pushbutton while resetting the STM32C092 mcu through RESET (B2) pushbutton and without the ST-Link interference removing JP2, JP4, JP6, JP7 jumpers, right?UART2 on PA2 (TX) and PA3 (RX) port-pins is one of the UARTs handled by System Bootloader, right?UART2 is already connected as Virtual Com Port (VCP), so it can be used with bootloader through CN1 USB-C connector, right?Furthermore, BOOT0 pin must be enabled for boot mode selection in the User Option Bytes, right?Now, my STM32C092 mcu has nBOOT_SEL bit just cleared in Opton Byte and my simple led blinking application is running. If I keep BOOT pressed while I press and release RESET, my led blinking app still start running and STM32CubeProgrammer does not connect with the target.Is my procedure correct? How to start NUCLEO-C092RC in System Bootloader through BOOT pushbutton?And UART2 as VCP is available to test

All the configurations have been confirmed (baud rate, COM port, bits, etc.) And they are right. I even tried using the STM32 Cube IDE Terminal with no luck. Now I'm not sure if the problem is the UART I'm using, or I'm doing something wrong in the code.Also I'm not sure about the UART that support VCP in STM32F303ZE microcontrollers. I am working with STM32H747I -DISCO board I am using CubeMx version 6.15, firmware: H7_V1.12.2, Freertos CMSIS2 - V10.3.1configuration 1 : Generating from touchgfx and configuring Eth other all parameters commented in code (Touchgfx parameters).Here ETH is working fine configuration 2 : only configuring ETH with same configurating as above but generating from cubemx Here Eth Communication worked for abt 10 to 20 min and then MCU stucked.I compared both projects : it's all same (MPU configuration Linker script DMA Descriptor and RAM Heap pointer) ...middleware package, CMSIS files, Freertos config files, Lwip folder(lwip.c .h and ethernetif.c and lwipopt.h),LAN files all are same but still I am facing this issue. I have attached wireshark snip when MCU got stucked and IOC files 1. Hello, I’m trying to perform ADC measurements with the STM32H563ZIT. I’ve shared my configuration settings from the .ioc file below. The ADC reading fluctuates by about ±40. When I short the ADC pin to GND, the reading varies between 0 and 30 instead of staying stable. I can’t get a constant value. Hello,as a first time user of STm32CubeIDE, I wanted to toggle a few IOs with a serial output.I used the JTAG port to connect to the STM32 and program it BUT after the first programing, I can't connect to it anymore.....Here is the pinout that I used:Afterwards, I discovered that I should have activated the JTAG debug.... but it is too late.....What can I do to access/program the STM32 again?This might be a simple question but I would appreciate the help.Thank you

In the default configuration, the SMPS on the development board is disabled.  As such the VDDA18PMU appears to be floating.  According to the spec sheet, it says that the pin MUST be tied to Vss when the SMPS in not used.  Is there an internal pull down?

Is there any working project maybe on github 1024 x 600 RGB TFT ? Those screens are very popular all over the place.  There is STM32F746G-DISCO with 480x272 TFT RGB. I have no problem to get it working. For bigger sizes since there is no working example from STM. I have a few custom boards and I cannot get them working. I followed the example for STM32F746G-DISCO with 480x272 to connect 1024x600 on a few chips which support LTDC (24 bit).I wonder what I might be missing.  

Hello,I'm a university student with a deep passion for embedded systems.I've really enjoyed tinkering with ST microcontrollers and have experience with several boards in your STM32 family, including the F446RE, F411, and H743. I've been following the development of your more powerful boards and I'm incredibly impressed by the new NUCLEO-H757XI-Q. I'm very keen to get one to use for my university projects and to continue learning.The issue I'm facing is that as a student, the board's price (around $64 with shipping) is unfortunately a bit expensive for my budget.I was wondering if STMicroelectronics has any form of educational or student discount program available? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm just trying to see if anyone has been in a similar situation and if ST is able to support students in this way.Thank you for your time and guidance.

Hello everyone,I want to add external RAM to the NUCLEO-N657X0-Q. From the docs I see two options:FMC with PSRAM/SRAM or SDRAMXSPI with HyperRAM or serial PSRAMBoth options seem to require wiring from the board headers (I couldn’t find a ready plug-in).Is there a simpler way to add the external RAM? I need something similar to the one STM32N6570-DK board provides. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance!

Hello,I'm currently trying to set up a simple project for the STM32N6750-DK. I want to toggle the red User-LED. I already worked a bit with ST-boards, so I did already started a new project in the CubeIDE and selected the LED as a GPIO-Output in the *.ioc file. Here comes my problem:Where do I put my code and how do I flash the programm on my board? Unfortunately I couldn't find a tutorial that described it step by step and I'm very confused how to handle the different projects (FSBL and Appli) in the same folder.  Where do I put the toggle-function for my GPIO-Pin? Hi ST team,I'm working with the Nucleo-N657X0-Q board (STM32N657X0H3Q MCU) and running the nx_iperf example from NetX Duo. I’d like to understand what the SRAM clock frequency is during this example's execution. In the release notes, it’s mentioned that the core clock is set to 600 MHz, although the maximum supported core clock is 800 MHz. I’m trying to determine:What is the default clock source and frequency for the SRAM in this MCU?Is the SRAM clock configurable separately from the system clock?Any guidance or documentation references would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou, A. I am trying to set up a basic USB project on a NUCLEO-H7S3L8. It works okay with the HSI, but I need the HSE. I can see that the board has a 24MHz crystal fitted and resistors on SB14 and SB15. It's unmodified from the factory.HAL_RCC_OscConfig() always returns with a timeout when trying to activate the HSE. I've tried various settings but can't get it to work.I have attached my .ico file. The code is just what CubeMX generates. Thanks.

Hello,I am using the STM32F429I-Discovery board with an MT9M001 camera module, and I am developing with STM32CubeIDE.I would like to display the live camera image on the built-in LCD of the F429 board.I have already connected the camera and can read image data through DCMI, but I am not sure how to configure LTDC (and possibly DMA2D) to display the image in real time on the LCD.Could you please provide guidance or an example on how to:1. Configure LTDC for displaying a frame buffer2. Transfer camera image data from DCMI to the LTDC frame buffer using DMA3. Match the resolution and pixel format between camera and LCD4. Hi, I’m implementing a self-powered USB 2.0 Full-speed device with an STM32H753XI and a USB-C connector.Could you please confirm that the attached schematic: Uses STM-recommended resistor values for the VBUS-sense divider on PA9 to prevent MCU damage if the USB is connected while the MCU isn't powered (MCU is self-powered) Omitting the 22 Ω series resistors on USB_P/USB_N is acceptable for device-only operation. Provides complete ESD/over-voltage protection for the MCU. Contains all capacitors / resistors required for reliable enumeration and long-term robustness. Thanks in advance for your feedback. Hello all, currently if I want to turn my cpus to 480 MHz and 240 MHz, I have to switch to ldo, and voltage scale 0, rev v. Using the default SMPS will give only 400MHz, I tried 480MHz with the wrong scale, SMPS, and successfully debugged the M7 but the M4 got stucked on "waiting for debugger connection" forever (it didn't say no target found). In UM2408 table 10 section 7.4.8, switching to internal LDO only will require removing some soldier bridge and changing capacitor value. Does it mean I will have to physically do it according to the datasheet everytime not only for LDO but other peripherals too ? Thank you.

good morning. since this morning, on my nucleoH755ZIQ I am trying to make work my UART connection. I followed the stm video on YouTube and did as said: connected USART 2 (doesn't USART 1 work?) and then implemented the simple code  in the while loop of my main. unfortunately, when I run the console, nothing appears. I even tried it on putty and again nothing came out. so I decided to change board and take the NUCLEO C031C6 but this time could not even access the USART 2. does somebody knows what could be the problem or have a simple code I could try to understand if the problem is the hardware or the software? best regards 

Doing a short search, I did not find a board that conveniently fits my criteria for some future projects.These criteria are the following :  -  small form factor (not bigger than a Rasperry Pico, preferably smaller (Seed XIAO);  -  MCU preferably ranging from C0, F0...F3, F40x, L0 or L1; (not an exclusive list)  -  reasonable commercial availability in Europe;I intend to use these board as a kind of sensor extension for Linux SBCs, with the Raspberry Pi Zero (II) as favourite. Thus the Pi Zero / Pi Pico format as upper size limit.I can't specify more IO details yet, but the average peripherals of above mentioned MCU variants suffices for most purposes. But at least 8 or more IO lines should be available. Peak performance and low-power capabilities are not a criterium either.If someone here knows such a board, I would welcome any suggestion.Thanks !

I'm using the NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q board with the PWR_ModeSelection example, and I'm measuring the current consumption with an ammeter through the JP5 (IDD) connector.The current I measure in the different low power modes is always around 4.52 mA, which does not match the values stated in the datasheet.I'm probably making a configuration mistake. To use the example, I followed the README included in the SDK.As toolchain, I'm using CMake and VSCode as the IDE.Where am I going wrong?

Hardware Design Observations for STM32N6570-DK and STM32H747I-DISCO BoardsWhile working with the STM32N6570-DK and STM32H747I-DISCO boards, I noted a few aspects of their hardware design that could be improved for usability.1. Shared I²C Bus Between Codec and TouchscreenThe shared I²C bus used by the audio codec and the touchscreen looks elegant from an architectural standpoint, but in practice it creates some challenges.1a. Access to the codec can take a relatively long time, while the touchscreen is accessed internally by the TouchGFX library.Although mutex protection can be implemented in the BSP to manage concurrent access, this does not fully resolve the issue — touchscreen responsiveness can still be affected.1b. On the dual-core STM32H7 board, if one core manages the codec and the other handles the display, additional synchronization is required to ensure safe concurrent access. Good day. I am working on a 32-pin STM32U083KCU6. This requires the use of LSE 32.768kHz crystal. I referred to AN2867 as the oscillator design guideline.The LSE has the following specs:Shunt capacitance - 1.15pF,ESR - 70k,Load capacitance - 7pF.Calculated crystal gm is less than the STM32 Gmcrit so I think this crystal is ok to use.My concern is the determination of Rext value as the measurement of the current through the crystal is not an easy measurement. To set baseline in the Rext value, I used the evaluation board NUCLEO-U083RC as reference since it uses a similar STM32U083RCT6. Looking at the evaluation board schematics, I see that the Rext R34 and R35 are both set to 0R. The LSE used in the evaluation board is NX2012SA-32.768KHZ-EXS00A-MU00527 which has a max level drive of 0.5uW. May I ask to what drive level is the MCU set to drive the crystal in the evaluation board? What is the power level the MCU drives the crystal considering the max level of drive of the LSE is 0.5uW? Ap
