STM32 MPUs Embedded software and solutions

A particular STM32MP1 based board uses the USB OTG interface configured to the cortex A7. Is there any guidance how to configure the kernel so that it will use the USB device port with a gadget driver, so that the host sees it as keyboard, serial port, mouse, audio interface ? For example, as pictured, a snippet of usb otg in the .dts ( high speed). It uses dwc2 as driver for OTG function, How to assign the device descriptor to the otg/usb interface ? Full speed would be fine as well. In the kernel sources there is "legacy" and "function" code.

Hello,I need to synchronize the time between the A7 and M4 cores. While I found some resources on the ST Community that accessing the STGEN timer from the A7 side.the article is belowhttps://community.st.com/t5/embedded-software-mpus/how-can-i-get-access-to-m4-timers-from-a7-linux-is-it-possible/m-p/151769So, I tried this on A7 too.for reading/writing peripheral registers from the A7 core is outlined in STWiki article. https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_read_or_write_peripheral_registersI think accessing /dev/mem offer a same capability. I tried and successfully employed this approach for UART4. However, I failed when it comes to reading the STGENR using this method.Could someone provide guidance on how I might access the STGEN timer from the A7 core? If there's a more efficient or recommended way to synchronize the time between the A7 and M4 cores, that information would be invaluable as well.Thank you for your assistance.

Hi everyone,I'm using STM32g491 and rs485 modules. I'm trying to transmit data from uart1 with DMA when I receive data. There is a dilemma it transmit data but also does not? When I try to send a buffer which defined on stm's code, it transmits but when I try to transmit data come through GUI, it does not transmit. There is no problem about data coming from GUI. I can see it when I debug. flashlayout tsv file not generated using meta-st-stm32mp-addons but images created.What do I need to add to generate the Flashlayout for sdcard?

There are many questions around related to the DCMI and embedded syncs on various forums. ST's documentation is not very helpful in this regard and I could not find any meaningful solutions on the web. I had a similar issue using STM32MP157 - unfortunately discrete syncs for the DCMI are not available on our CPU board so I had to make it work no matter what. The good news is it does work and works well but there are some things to take note of. Hi,I am using the stm32mp157f-dk2, I'm using the core-image-minimal image and i'm trying to create a custom image. However, I would like to increase the rootfs size in order to add modules in the root filesystem once the kernel starts. We are using STM32MP13 with Linux for the A7 and using HAL (no OS) for the M4 Coprocessor. In Linux we configured in device tree the I2S (codec and sound are also configured in device tree). &i2s1 { clocks = <&rcc SPI1>, <&rcc SPI1_K>, <&rcc PLL3_Q>, <&rcc PLL3_R>; clock-names = "pclk", "i2sclk", "x8k", "x11k"; pinctrl-names = "default", "sleep"; pinctrl-0 = <&i2s1_pins_audio &i2s1_pins_z_audio >; pinctrl-1 = <&i2s1_sleep_pins_audio &i2s1_sleep_pins_z_audio >; status = "okay"; dmas = <&dmamux1 38 0x400 0x01>; dma-names = "tx"; i2s1_port: port { i2s1_endpoint: endpoint { remote-endpoint = <&codec_corscience_endpoint>; format = "i2s"; }; }; }; At M4 this was done using CubeIDE for the SPI3 and SPI4. These ports are working but as soon we play a sound using aplay the SPI3/4 hangs.

Hello,We are using STM32157AAA3 Processor in our custom board.we are trying to ping ethernet in RMII (100mbps)mode  in uboot (2023.04) version.we are  facing following issues :1. Invalid PHY Interface.2. eqos_probe_failed() -22 No ethernet found  (as in below screenshot). when we try to ping ethernet in RGMII Mode with auto negotiation  we are getting Host is not alive.But in uboot 2018 version it is working fine in RMII (100mbps).Please find the below attached screen shots for configuration,what we have done  for ethernet in uboot-2023V.please help us in this regards.regards,Navaneeth kumar

Hi,I encounter a performance issue on the qt5 application on STM32MP135. I build a simple application with three plaintextedit objects showing temperature with 1s period from ds18b20. Everything compiles well and works, but the refreshing temperature on plaintextedit consumes 80% of the CPU (only refreshing after that go to 10% or less)Maybe someone has a similar problem to my. The same application on STM32MP157 works perfectly response on the screen and consumes only 10 to 20% in peak on CPU load. In my opinion, something is wrong with the compilation optionsI built it like for STM32MP157 without accepting EULA (this model has no graphics on board). bitbake -k st-example-image-qt -c populate_sdk bitbake -k st-example-image-qt  Thanks for any hintsBRMichal

Hello, i am using an stm32mp1-dk2 board. For using fw_printenv and other uboot tools from user space one must define a "/etc/fw_env.config" file. I can see that the "/uboot.env" file is driectly saved under the root "/" and so i defined the "fw_env.config" like that:   # cat /etc/fw_env.config # Device name Device offset Env. size Flash sector size /uboot.env 0x0000 0x2000 But every time i run fw_printenv i get following msg: # fw_printenv Warning: Bad CRC, using default environment bootcmd=bootp; setenv bootargs root=/dev/nfs nfsroot=${serverip}:${rootpath} ip=${ipaddr}:${serverip}:${gatewayip}:${netmask}:${hostname}::off; bootm bootdelay=5 baudrate=115200 As you can it claims about "BAD CRC...". I am not able to launch SPI activation outputs just using datasheet information. I have tried everything and the status outputs do not change. By making use of an oscilloscope, I have checked that the data bytes transmitted (0xAC01, that would entail an activation of OUT1) through MISO line are correctly sent. Moreover, we have changed SPI mode, frequency, mode of sending the bits…but nothing happens. I am not able to switch on/off internal mosfets after command byte writing operation. I also read fault register and get 0x0000, which indicates that no fault is present. I do not know if it is a timing issue or something else. I have changed the MCU used to act as a master, but nothing got.Thanks in advance!

Hi,we're using STM32MP1 for our project. we have connected super cap to VBAT.our expectation is to have VBAT supply power to RTC *alone*. we dont want RAM content to be retained. so that RTC shall remain powered for long time. currently the VBAT is supplying back up power for both RAM contents & also for RTC, so we're experiencing RTC back up for just 5 hours instead of expected 5 days. Kindly help out. should we use RREN/BREN in this case?

Hi,my question is how to set up resolv.conf with the DNS nameserver not to lose it after reboot.Some of the manuals on the internet want to modify /etc/systemd/resolved.conf by uncomment DNS line and provide a valid ip. Unfortunately, it's not working for Openstlinux.The DNS only works when updated /etc/resolv.conf.Of course, I can update /etc/resolv.conf automatically during the system boot-up, but in my opinion this method is not too elegant.Can You have some solution for my issue?ThanksBRMichał
