Hi together,I am new to the topic mems and got some difficulties in evaluation by reading datasheets.Many datasheets include Allan Variance plots, bias instability, misaligment and etc..I couldn´t find those parameters in documents of LSM6DSOX.I want to callculate velocity and position by using accelerometer and gyroscope.I thought random walk (which is mentioned in the datahseet as "Rate noise density" I guess ) and bias instability are one of the most influental parameters in relation getting a "more" accurate velocity and position.Which are the parameters I have to consider for achieving accuracy in velocity and position as good as possible?Thanks in advance!!

Hi, I am working on a project which multiple VL53L1X sensors will be placed on multiple robots and they will work in the same arena. As a result, FOV of different VL53L1X sensors will intersect and I am curious whether or not behaviour under these circumstances is observed before. In my tests random errors occur and I could not find a distinctive feature for this interference in order to filter those readings. Do you have any suggestions about this issue ?

Due to Quarantine I don't have access to tools where I could hook up this accelerometer and study its response and offset. So I'm reaching out to see if anyone has any information on how this accelerometer performs when it's not in a controlled lab setting. Specifically what the offset would be and how noisy the output signal is. I couldn't find any information on this in the resource material on your site.

Hi, I need advise regarding my application. I can store historic data using Stream-to-FIFO mode based on single tap interrupt in buffer A. But, I cannot get data after the tap interrupt in buffer B when switching FIFO mode to Streaming mode. I believe I am not configuring the sensor properly to switch from one mode to another. My code is listed below. It collects and store historical data in buffer A and calculates threshold. If threshold is higher, then micro-controller is instructed to switch to the streaming mode and to store data in buffer B. This code returns watermark value 0 for the second part of the code (for buffer B part). I have been trying to use the default data logger app to acquire a csv file. The only csv file I have been able to get is the one with battery logging.When I try to create a default data logger app, load it, record data, stop recording data, and export the log file, there is never a log file.My ultimate goal is to log acceleration and orientation data to a csv file at about 50 hz and the analyze the data on my PC. I just started using SensorTile yesterday and any suggestions would be appreciated.John

This perplexes me because when I ran this yesterday It functioned fine no changes, if i comment this section out the sensortile is connectable, however obviously all ICs are non communicable, I am extremely new to ST having previously used TI (although used the LSM9DS1 for a number of years) .I am creating a motion tracking watch that is based on the sensortile, however it will save motion data to a MX25L32 instead of the SD card example and will bulk upload this at the end of the day while charging, I work for start up researching Parkinsons disease and would appreciate some help, many thanks.Also where do you manufacture you sensortiles, as I'm having trouble finding PCB manufacturers who will create 0.4mm pitch BGA, as well as the vias required for this to function.

I may be exceptionally dumb, but I can't find in the STTS22H DS, how can the measured temperature be determined from the values read from the temperature registers.What am I missing?JW

Several months ago at an st.com seminar I was handed a SensorTile.box (STEVAL-MKSBOX1V1) to examine. I noticed right away the compass application was much more responsive then the one I implemented in our product using the STM32_MotionEC and STM32_MotionMC libraries. After a few moments it became obvious that the SensorTile.box was including the gyroscope sensors in its compass calculations. How can I also add gyroscope data to my STM32_MotionEC and STM32_MotionMC based compass application?-hope everyone is doing well, thanks

I use MotionFX library and LSM9DS1 IC for quaternion estimation. I followed documentations, and I read signal values and call propagate and update functions with 10ms intervale. For now, I'm using 6X estimation algorithm, because in Unicleo GUI performance example with kettle look good. But in my own application and custom hardware Euler angles increase very slowly, there is latency about 2-3seconds before value saturate on real angle value(tested on 90° angle). There are also wrong values of yaw angle - movement of 90° is seen as 60-70°. I tried to change MotionFX library knobs and IC filters and bandwiths options, but without success. How to set this values to achieve maximum performance in orientation estimation? I'd like to minimize drifts and latency. My application is device moved by hand, which I want to track in real time with best possible accuracy.I wonder about gyro bias. Hi, I am following the datasheets to combine a LSM6SD0X with a LIS3MDL on the same board, with the LSM6SD0X in "Mode 2." My understanding is that this mode permits fusion of the magnetometer to the other data. However, does this really fuse the data in a meaningful way? I'm already planning to use an ARM chip for sensor fusion... so is there an advantage of using the "Sensor Hub" mode (aka Mode 2)? Or, should I just operate it in mode 1 and stop confusing the matter?Also, could I please get a more clear example/schematic of how to hook these two chips up in this mode? I was planning to connect SDA (pin 11) and SCL (pin 1) from LIS3MDL to MSDA (pin 2) and MSCL (pin 3) on LSM6SDS0X. Is this correct? What should I do with MDRDY on LSM6SDS0X? What should I do with DRDY on LIS3MDL? Should these pins be connected to each other?Presumably I should use pull-up resistors on the master I2C?Thanks!

Hi, I am using h3lis331dl to measure acceleration. I am using the official demo code, and I can get the ID correctly. But when I was trying to get acceleration data, the output data is weird. The output data in hexadecimal are:data_raw_acceleration.i16bit[0]: 60 data_raw_acceleration.i16bit[1]: 40 data_raw_acceleration.i16bit[2]: 2d0When I using transformation formula: #define H3LIS331DL_FROM_FS_100g_TO_mg(lsb)  (float)( lsb * 49.0f )the acceleration data will be really large.So I wonder what's the unit of the output data? are they m/s^2 or mg?Thank you in advance!lyc

Hi,I have trouble using LSM6DSO via the AUX SPI - MISO is always high.I verified via the primary interface (I2C) that register WHO_AM_I (0Fh) returns 6Ch.I tried to change VDD after reading this post:VDD=3.3V: reading register CTRL1_OIS (70h) with the primary interface returns 0 (WHO_AM_I returns correct value).VDD=1.8V: reading register CTRL1_OIS (70h) with the primary interface returns FFh (WHO_AM_I returns correct value).My HW setup: STEVAL-MKI196V1 connected to NUCLEO-G071RB. Hi,I've bought a ST MKI179V1 board to interface via I2C with a Nucelo-L433RC . Furthermore, I'm using ST oficial drivers to MEMS sensors. The problem is when I try to read the register it always return 0. I've already made a lot of tests and I can't discover the problem.
